Re: What would you do?

Well, I would be disappointed, too- but it does look pretty with your ring. Does it take you an hour to get to Southpoint? It looks like that's the closest Ritani jeweler to you. And did they give you an idea on the charge for shipping and resizing the ring?

Re: FCD CAD assistance request

Ah, Yssie- I'm so glad you've finally posted your beautiful ring. :appl: :appl: :appl: I also got to wear Yssie's ring for a bit, too. =) The changes of metal color are so beautiful and subtle in your ring. But Mike was (is?) a master goldsmith. I have not seen work from Chrono's jeweler and I don't...

Re: FCD CAD assistance request

You're welcome, Chrono. I've played around so much with setting my pink heart to try to get it to show up on my rose gold colored skin, too!!! My DBL ring is 3 metals- 18kt yellow gold prongs around the center yellow diamond, rose gold around the pink diamonds and basket, and platinum band. I don't ...

Re: FCD CAD assistance request

I think it will be beautiful, Chrono. I think your skin tone must be similar to mine- and rose gold just fades into it. Sometimes I like it as a chain will kind of disappear around my neck- just leaving diamonds to see. But I totally understand where you're coming from. You need the white metal for ...

Re: Private jewellery sale, how do you ensure safety?

Hi Pink Jewel, so more expensive would you think more reasonable to show them the item in person? Or more expensive, more reason to keep it at arms length? Well,I meant neither actually. Sorry I should have explained it better. I would think since items are usually a final sale a buyer will want to...

Re: FCD CAD assistance request

Totally agree with TL- all rose gold would probably get lost on your rose gold colored finger and you may not see the light pinks much at all. If you look at my orchid ring- it is all platinum except the rose gold basket under the pink diamonds, well, and the rose gold prongs and RDG used 18kt rose ...

Re: Private jewellery sale, how do you ensure safety?

Well, I think it partly depends on how expensive the item is. I have sold a number of pieces of jewelry on Craigslist- Tiffany and David Yurman mainly. I only accept cash and I've generally met at cafes (I always try to take my husband with me!!) and a couple of times in a Mall. The most expensive t...

I love it, Chrono!!! Different than your first thoughts for the ring, but it's creative and special. :appl: Can't wait for the next stage!! I know you must be ready to have this ring finished and on your finger! Sorry to hear that it almost doubled in price

pretty color amethyst!! Are you sure you wouldn't consider another color halo? I think this color combo would be gorgeous with your amethyst and a totally differ...

Re: Most liberal and conservative cities

Did you remove Raleigh/ Durham/ Chapel Hill off the list? Nope. It's still right in the top 5. We have two lists: List A: places we would move without me having a job and no relocation help from a job. List B. places we would move with DH not having a job, but with relocation help from my job. yay! I'm excited to see neck shots of the harvest strand! The "real life" pictures of your sale strand in the other thread are gorgeous too. I am putting lighter T's on my wishlist. I do have them- just haven't had time to photograph. But they are darker than I want- or rather, they have ...

Re: Starter White Pearl Drop Earring Advice

Welcome EvangelineG. You've received lots of great advice already. Check with PP if they still have pearls from last year's WSS drop lot (July 2013). I'd imagine they are probably OOS now. The luster on those WSS are very sharp. You can ask to put the WSS drops on PP's shopping list the next time t...

Re: Gemstone for my original setting? where to purchase?

You will need to check the dimensions of the diamond coming out of your setting as most colored gemstones weigh "heavier" than diamonds, so don't go by weight. The other thing you will need to be aware of is that many colored stones are also cut deeper than diamonds and may not fit into th...

Re: Thoughts on HPHT?

Anyone?!?!?! Only you can determine if it's worth it to you. We don't have any information to determine if a particular stone is "worth it". If you want to ask about a specific diamond it would be more helpful. Unless you have a very healthy budget for a natural fancy light pink diamond a...

Re: PP Tahitian pearls on sale!

Few shots of the strands I bought. It's darker IRL than glam shots but that's expected. What's unusual is that it looks much better in full sunlight than shade. Usually it's the opposite. So now I'm torn because the luster and surfaces are outstanding but I rarely spend time in full sunlight so I w...

Well, I got my strand and I'm undecided as to whether or not it is a keeper. The shapes, sizes, and length is perfect. The color, however, goes muddy and drab in many indoor lighting conditions. I'm not sure if I could do better... I might keep an eye on the sale for a strand with a more emerald bo...
