Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

I wonder if those of us who do that for our husbands, did we all grow up seeing our moms do that for our dads? I know my mom did-heck she still does. If I want to take mom and go do something, she still checks w/dad to make sure it's ok. And sometimes it's not-which irritates the crap out of me. Dad...

Re: How do you relax?

I like to read and watch tv...I love true crime shows, like the ones on ID. I like to garden. My husband and I take "tours" of our yard during the nicer months, and we sit outside a lot.

Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

I'm glad that I'm not the only one…. And for the record, my DH certainly doesn't have to ask to do things. I think that it's just common courtesy/respect issue. This all stems from the fact that I'm a stay-at-home mom with no job, no life, etc. The expectation is that I will ALWAYS be home should h...

Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

My vent of the day: DH on phone to pro shop: "I'd like to make an 11 o'clock tee time" *hangs up phone* DH to me/wife: "Do you mind if I golf today?" This has been an ongoing issue for years - DH making plans and then checking to see if it's okay. It's the assumption that I'll b...

Re: POLL: A little design help: To pave or not to Pave

I like it better w/the few stones in the original. I like the milgrain and how it tapers toward the top. And w/that band you posted. I like those little hash marks in the other ring Niel posted.

Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

Dee*Jay, they say "my pleasure" at Chik fil-A. We'd never heard it before and thought it was nice. We even tried a couple different workers, asking for refills and such, thinking maybe it was just the one we ordered with at the counter, but they all did it. What part of the Midwest are you...

Re: HELP! DSS has set in less than 3 months of being engaged

why not add a big five stone wedding band? Or a big rhr for your other hand? That's what I'd do. W/a big rhr you could venture into other shapes/looks, and if your ring fingers are close to the same size, you could switch them back and forth if you wanted.

Re: HELP! DSS has set in less than 3 months of being engaged

HNL, I love your ring---but I can see where my priorities are right now b/c I'm wishing your arm was more in the picture so I could see your tattoo!

OP, I like the suggestion of looking at a different shape.

Re: Toilet Lid Etiquette/Sanitation: Lid Down to Flush!

We put the lid down. Tried to do it before the kids came b/c the dang cats would play in it. Then when I was pg I started demanding it be down all the time b/c I'd get up in the middle of the night and fall in-which isn't fun when you're as big as a house and not sleeping well to begin with-no way w...

Re: Protection Trained Dog or Handgun?

A smart and responsible gun owner would never skip the gun safe b/c kids may be able to get into it. That's irresponsible and asking for problems. Even if the kids could get into the gun safe-a smart and responsible gun owner would store their weapons unloaded and with ammunition elsewhere also unde...

We're getting a biometric safe. I would feel better, personally, having a gun rather than a trained attack dog. That's my opinion.

Re: Terrorist Attack in Paris Kills 12 People

I think Jane's last sentence applies to many things, everywhere. And with Ksinger's Sting song, it's true, history won't teach us a dang thing. These things repeat daily, worldwide, and nobody learns.

Re: Personal opinions of M color diamonds - Help my purchase

I had an avc five stone of J/K's and traded it back in for avc L/M's and did a three stone. It's my engagement ring. That's my own personal preference. They suit me. I had one of them with me at the same time as I had the J/K's so I could compare, and I just prefer the L/M's. It's hard to say if ret...

Re: Would you miss your kid's birthday?

I've not yet, we always tell the kids Happy Birthday on their birthdays, but we don't always celebrate on that specific day. Sometimes it's just not possible. And as someone who grew up never celebrating, I don't place that much importance on it. Sure it's important, but I'm not going to rearrange m...
