Re: what color is a your front door?

burgundy. JD was skeptical. Now he's up for repainting the door every couple years to change up the look of the house.

Re: How much of a gamer are you?

Zilch. Unless you count the kids wanting to play me in tic tac toe or checkers on their kindles once in a while. We have a Wii but it hasn't been played in a couple years.

Re: A Book(s) Thread

Massive disappointment this morning when I finished one book and realized the other two books I had here I'd already read. Luckily the library was still open. Found a new John Sanford and a Jennifer Weiner.

Liane Moriarty sounds interesting-I will have to write her name down and look next time I go.

Re: What do you think of this threat?

Nope, although the game is mentioned I saw, Rapeplay. It was a thread that I'm pretty sure was started about the game, not about that pedophile book. What I remember is the general consensus here being that as long as a guy/boy wasn't actually going out and raping a female, it was ok to play the gam...

Re: What do you think of this threat?

Does anyone remember a few years ago, the thread on the rape video game? I can't find it so am wondering if it was deleted. Pretty sure I posted in it and don't see it in my post list. I don't think it was too long after I came here, so 2010 or so.

Re: Ebola arrives in America tomorrow on a fancy private jet

We are human, therefore, imperfect. Buuuut we like to bask in the sunlight of Superior America. Re: Ebola arrives in America tomorrow on a fancy private jet

Honestly? I think we in the US think we are invincible. Not even we-we, the powers that be-we. Maybe it's wrong of me, but I don't feel there are ever 100% safeguards 100% of the time that are 100% failsafe when imperfect humans are running the show. IF something were to happen, it would of course ...

Re: Does anyone have a roomba (or other robot vacuum)?

We don't but I'd like to try them. We don't do area rugs or mats, save the one right inside the front door, which is small and kind of a sand paper type. So it would just be a matter of going around the furniture, table/chairs and such. It would be nice to have some extra floor cleaning. Four cats a...

Re: looking for seafoam tourmaline

Thanks guys! I find it hard to describe colors...I can look at some that have been suggested to me, like one of the cutters had a couple on his site but they're juuuust not quite what color I have in my head, so I can look and say yes or no, or close but no cigar, but I don't have the smarts to desc...

Re: Ebola arrives in America tomorrow on a fancy private jet

I hated the new electronic records we converted to at the office. Hated. We switched twice in 8 years, and I don't know what it's like currently since I've been out of there 2.5 years now but holy moly. Those are pretty TL, thanks for the link! I've been looking on here at pictures of seafoam stones and I see such a range of colors. Re: Tell you and your SO's story

JD was in trouble all the time in a town not far from here, hanging out w/idiots. After being in jail he decided he needed to straighten up. He came here to a party one night and met my brother and our group of friends. JD was 19 and I was 18. He lived out in the party house w/our friends for a whil...

Re: Simple Pleasures

Oh gosh, snow-silence! Isn't that incredible? There's no other "sound" like that. That's the best part of winter. I like when there's no breeze, it's that "just right" temp for winter where your nostrils aren't freezing shut, and the snow comes straight down so gently. love it. E...

Re: Simple Pleasures

"touring" our yards. JD thinks it's hilarious that when Spring finally rolls around and we start daily tours to see what's coming up, the first hosta poking thru causes me to jump up and down and squeal excitedly. Can't help it. I love to be out in the yard. Just sitting there is enough fo...

Re: Swing sets too dangerous for schools?

Ohhh we had TWO of those jungle gyms back in the day. One was tall and like that and was tiered, so bigger on the bottom, then got smaller until it was just a couple squares on the top. SO awesome. The other was like a space ship. And we used to have two different merry go rounds-one of them was woo...

Re: How do you store your bread?

On the counter during cold months, fridge when it's warm/humid. I don't like putting it in the fridge b/c it's not as soft but not really much of a choice sometimes. Gramma Joyce used to make her own bread and that was THE best. Crumbs everywhere, homemade apple butter and scrambled eggs for breakfa...

Re: looking for seafoam tourmaline

You know, I'm not real sure on size, actually. It doesn't need to be overly large, 5x7 or a little bigger would probably be ok. Do you have pics by any chance, marymm?
