Re: Ugly suspicions can be so hurtful.

I guess we need to just learn to use our coping mechanisms and deal. We can't all be victims, all the time, every time we walk out the door. Use it as a chance to educate? Nah, better to stomp your feet and proclaim loudly about the hardships you've endured. Better to make someone purposely NOT ques...

London's going to be eleven and she still gets on youtube, convinced she'll find THE spell that will turn her into a mermaid. Just last year when she was ten, she had me feel parts of her leg to check for scales, and I wasn't allowed in the bathroom when she got in the tub to do her spells. Soooo ye...

One experienced viewpoint that provides some explanation as to why the officer may have chosen to react as he did. Food for thought.

Thank you.

Re: Parenting question.

I think it's more about raising them to understand that not everyone believes the same thing and THAT'S OKAY. Not so much that all religions are right. Not everyone believes the same thing about lots of things, and that's okay. It's important to respect other people's belief's, you don't have to bel...

Re: Parenting question.

I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, so completely different than most. I was told ALL THE TIME that I was wrong. ALL THE TIME. And I would look at the person and say "Well...if I'm wrong, and that means you're right, why am I taught to accept other people and their differences and taught to ac...

Re: Fraud at the CDC uncovered

Spacing out vaccines is fine for people who are responsible enough to bring their kids back in for the rest of the vaccines. MOST people are not that responsible or don't have that much time/aren't willing to make the time. So it's much better for the majority of people to get them all at once than...

Re: ear piercing... advice please

Are the studs stainless steel? I've developed an allergy to silver in my ears. Not that I have worn earrings in the last 20 odd years, but that's part of the reason I quit-it was hard back then to find earrings around here that weren't silver.

Re: Favorite shampoo/conditioner for colored hair?

I better make a list. I went red last month and it's faded now to a barely there strawberry blonde already. I've done red at home and it's never lasted so thought going salon would work. Sadly no.

Re: I live in a warzone. Oh wait, no, I'm in St. Louis.

Yes, it should be examined and should be questioned and should never be allowed to continue. But what I see, is instead of examining, and questioning, and asking why this is occurring and trying to get to the bottom of it, is anger and foaming at the mouth, directed at law enforcement as a whole. th...

Five? I hate them, and I get sweaty and floaty headed when I have to have a shot or blood drawn, but I've had it done so many times...when I've had to have it done often in a short time, I'm less apt to be freaked out. But when it's been a while, then I am more anxious. Shots at the dentist are no b...

Re: Most liberal and conservative cities

Iowa's not on there either, and where I live certainly isn't haha! Oofda, going where the jobs are, Gypsy, don't ever come here. Tyson just shut down the plant here that's been operating since 1965, so 250 to 350 people are out of jobs come September. Our town has 5,000 on a good day, so who knows w...

Re: I live in a warzone. Oh wait, no, I'm in St. Louis.

I asked JD. He said, these towns are rough towns. Our dept doesn't have anything like that b/c we don't need it. We don't have the gangs that some other towns do. Storm Lake in particular has been known as Little Chicago since my mom was little. Shit is BAD there. I myself witnessed an officer pull ...
