Shower/baby gifts

My lead teacher at work is due the end of June, and it's their first baby. London and Trapper are 11 and 8 and I roll my eyes at myself but you know..things are different for babies than when I had my kids. When mom and I went to register when I was pg w/London, she pointed out all the things that w...

Re: Yoga anyone?

I love yoga. I tried it a few years ago, just on a whim, and it was an instant love. I did 30 minutes daily a couple years ago, until I had gotten really sick, and then I quit and it was just hard to get back into. I started w/Kathryn Budig's Aim True dvd-she is incredible. She's so happy and so...f...

Re: Are boy short bathing suits appropriate for 40+ women?

Mine are these (but navy) and they don't float up when I get in the water. They're really soft/silky fabric and dry super fast. They don't have a bottom inside, but they don't expose anything either. I don't wear anything under and they don't ride up. The *only* thing I am not thrilled w/is the fly ...

Re: Unusual Haloes

Floral halos are so neat!

I found some interesting ones today and then a couple when I was scrolling down I realized were already on here so I'll skip those. One of these is kinda flower-ish and the one maybe isn't super unusual but different anyway. then the other..hahaha

Re: Are boy short bathing suits appropriate for 40+ women?

I like board shorts and tankini top too--when I got my set a couple years ago it really made a difference in how I felt. Not to say it's inappropriate or anything, I'm just more comfortable around other people, little kids I don't know, and adults I don't know, more covered.

Re: Help with paint color

When we redid our bathroom a few years ago, we did not quite "dark" more...medium, I'd say-but in the bathroom (gray), it's *always* bright. (even tho the light in there sucks, it's still like you're Dracula when you turn on the light in the morning ARGH my eyes my eyes!) So, now I'm not h...

Re: Help with paint color

Thanks UrsTx! It reminds me of an outfit. Dark brown furniture like boots. Orange scarf or belt, white shirt, navy coat or jeans. Darker colors make me feel comfy, like a blanket.

Re: Help with paint color

I don't think it would be too much, I think it would pull it together, ground it and it would work more like a neutral w/out being like a typical "neutral" beige/off white whatever. Like pants.

Re: Help with paint color

I'm a huge fan of Maria Killam, and one of the things I've seen many times on her blog is "a light color will never come to life in a dark room"--which I never understood the reasoning behind it until reading her blog. If you have a lot of light in a room, a light color works. Now, in our ...

We can make it Tyty, we can make it!! Yes, we can!!! To all moms/parents/teachers out there, hang in there! We have 40 or 41 days of school left for preschool. The rest of the district has still less than 50 anyway. First sign language class in our second session. This session will be 8 classes. It...

Re: Pastel hair???

Exactly! It's fun and freeing to test things out and who knows what you might find that you like! I went from a super Barbie bleached blonde pixie in October (which the super blonde was fine when I was in my 20's but not now that I'm 40 so I won't be doing that again) to a super dark brown/red brune...

Re: I just wanna say -- the random comments thread

Just talked to a school mate from many years ago-I've not seen him in..22 years I think? 20? He's a long haul trucker now and happened to be in town for the first time. He contacted my brother a couple weeks ago and they met up for supper. This guy had been like my brother for many years and he left...

Re: Pastel hair???

Hair mascara sounds like a good way to give it a whirl. I've done crazy things w/my hair and even if I didn't like it, eh, it's hair, it'll grow back or it can be colored over. (this attitude was not the case however, when I was in junior high ohh no, tears and tears and tears..) Pastel hair is pret...
