Re: A Book(s) Thread

I enjoyed Field of Prey. ha, I went to the library a few weeks ago and only one of the books I was looking for (from another PSers Goodreads reviews) were available, library doesn't carry the others, but there were 6 books between the authors I'm always checking (Sanford, Patterson, Kellerman and a ...

Re: Smart people buy generics over brand names

There are a couple things OTC we buy the generic b/c we actually think it works better. Food tho, I don't like to buy generic b/c of taste (and sometimes texture) as mentioned before. There will never be generic peanut butter here. Jif. Always. Medicines from the office, we look back to past times a...

Re: How do you cope with bereavement?

I'm sorry for your loss, Jane. I think everyone will have different thoughts on how they cope and how long things took to get back on an even keel, to be able to think of someone w/out feeling like the world suddenly tilted. When I was 13 I lost my grampa. We were close, I was born on his birthday a...

Re: Setting Remorse?

Not so much setting remorse, for a center stone, as I had a band ring custom made and it was beautiful but just didn't look good on me, didn't "feel" right on my hand, so I sold it for less than 1/2 what I paid. Sad. Were I in your shoes, I'd want to upgrade the center stone instead of the...

Re: Moms, is this okay for your 12-yr old son to watch?

Wellll that was an eye opener hahaha. I only watched about 10 seconds, so not sure if it continues on in that vein or not. As a 12 year old girl, I don't know that I'd've "gotten" what that is supposed to be. So as a 12 year old boy, I'm not sure if he would get it either. It's been a long...

Re: Child's Birthday Party RSVP

I get the whole not every one gets a ribbon thing...but not at 3 and 4 and 5 years old. That's pretty young to try and explain that not everyone is friends w/everyone and learn that sometimes you're excluded.

Re: Child's Birthday Party RSVP

Seeing as how I have a wedding RSVP that was supposed to be returned by the 16th...feel free to ignore me. I'd put another note in the cubbies. All of the bday parties we've done wthe kids have had our phone number/email to rsvp to, and about 1/2 or better, don't. A couple times I've gotten no's, an...

Re: at what size would you switch to a CS

My original ering from Kay's was similar to the ones Gypsy posted. I'd never seen anyone w/a CS for an ering at that time. Well..Princess Di, but she was a princess so I never thought to do anything other than a diamond.

Re: Do you regrets having kids?

I always thought I'd be a mother when I was younger, but by the time I met my husband, I was pushing 37 and my perspective had changed tremendously. We consciously decided not to have children. I'm nearly 49 now, and despite declarations from tons of people that I will eventually regret it, I have ...

Re: Do you regrets having kids?

My brother will never have kids, even tho he wants them. His wife will never allow it. And if there happened to be an oops I'm pretty sure he'd end up a single dad. It makes me feel bad. I think he's pretty resigned to not being a daddy. So..I have to content myself with drumming my fingers on the t...

Re: baby name re:SS list and popularity

I kinda think we're screwed no matter what. I hated my name when I was growing up. My mom spelled it different, Missi instead of Missy. Pissy Missi. Messy Missi. Ugh. In my baby book it says other names considered were Lisa, Tiffany...and Jamian (Jay-me-in)..I thought that was SO pretty. There was o...

Re: food prices..no jobs..

I can't get out of the grocery store for under $100. Generally it's about $125-$150, weekly. That's not counting pet food, cat litter, shampoo, etc. Milk is 4 something a gallon, the good 93% hamburger is 5 something a pound. Re: Do you regrets having kids?

I think the "hard" part about being a parent, is the things that go along w/it. The decisions and the judgement. Stay at home, go back to work. Nurse or formula. Co sleep or own bed. The list is never ending. Not sleeping. Eating cold food. Never having enough time in the day or hands/arms...
