Re: Calling me "Hon." Is there a protocol?

I don't see it as a big deal, really. If I were at a store and someone called me Blondie, yeah, I'd raise an eyebrow, or Shortie...chunky monkey...but who would do that, seriously. Hon, honey, sweetie, whatever, that doesn't bother me. I don't see it as a lack of disrespect when it's a term of endea...

Re: Catch all thread - talk or better yet show us

My opal is being sent to DK tomorrow to be reset into a pendant. I'd planned to send it to a different vendor, but the cost was too high, and even being a special piece I couldn't justify spending that much. He needs exact measurements to start the design process, so once he gets it we can get start...

Re: what are your dream sapphire rings?

I would love a picture of this face-up with a real sapphire, but just the idea of this ring makes my heart go all pitty patty http://www.greenlakejewelry.com/jewelryblog/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/st01.jpg http://www.pricescope.com/files/images/magicalpadring.jpg Is it this ring? http://www.greenla...

Re: Lady Gaga's Big 'Ole Heart Ering... Thoughts??

yeaaah not for me. To me regardless how well cut it is, it reminds me of a diamond version of a ring you could get at a carnival/fair or a trinket machine in one of those little plastic cup things. Like hello kitty should wear it. I saw a ring on FB that JA did, a little heart w/a...gosh, I forget n...

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

Home sick today from work. Opilio, Clementine and Goose took care of me. Well..Opilio apparently just sat on my head so I'm not sure how helpful that was but it's the thought that counts right?

Re: What Are You Doing for Valentine's?

Stringing snares for the shop. Taking a break to watch an episode or two of Walking Dead before he has to get ready for work. Daughter is the community theater children's play so will be taking her to that later. Then I shall relax and read some more of my book and watch some of my dvr'd murder myst...

Re: Is Valentine's Day a "Hallmark holiday"?

Jennifer, I feel that way about Christmas. We decorated a tree together for our first two Christmases together or so...after that it became "my" job to do the tree and decorate the house. I did it for a couple years and then that was the end of it. I got tired of harping-get the tree down ...

Re: Is Valentine's Day a "Hallmark holiday"?

Mother's Day now...I gave that man two amazing kids. If he can't give me a little extra appreciation for that, he can just un-appreciate himself right on out the damn door. Yes, because we all know how much moms are typically appreciated on a daily basis . hahaha exactly. So there best be...

Re: Is Valentine's Day a "Hallmark holiday"?

I've never cared about Valentine's Day. We bought each other something our first three together-the 2nd one we got engaged on, so in *that* respect, we make a bigger deal about it. But it still amounts to "Hey, it's our engagement anniversary-can you believe we've been together this long?"...

Monarch, yes I fully plan to adopt a kitty....shhhhhhhhhh don't tell the hubby... hahahaha he might not even notice! Mine didn't--both times! Re: Anybody Ever Work in an ER or Emergency Services?

I'd wear alert jewelry anyway-it's your life/health, you know? If it's in your purse, and your purse gets tossed out the window in an accident or you walk out the door w/out it, then what? I'd hate the thought of the responders needing to take time out to rifle thru your purse, pockets etc, to see i...

Re: Would you pay extra for a Tiffany & Co. solitaire?

Not I. It doesn't appeal to me, the brand, but it does to some. AVC/AVR, that appeals to me and I paid extra to get my stones, and the Single Stone name means something to me...but on that front, now that I have my three stone from them I think that would be my only piece unless something came up pr...

Re: Show me your current CS projects!

I love seeing projects in the works! I've got two asschers to set in rings and an opal to put in a pendant and that's all the farther I am in it. Sadly.

Yep, mom and dad take all the strays JD brings home. They still will be outside cats, but they're fed/watered/sheltered/vetted and loved!

Re: Random pictures/stories of our furbabies

JD texted a couple nights ago while he was on duty that he was bringing a cat home. They don't "technically" do stray pick up but when he's working and it's a cat, they end up at our house until my parents can come get them. Isn't she pretty? She's marked so crazy, like a raccoon mixed w/a...

Shoot, I don't even consider that a threadjack anyway, and besides, msop's wedding was gorgeous so who can blame you for telling her ha! got the pics! Slowly but surely, we're getting things figured out. I haven't looked and I don't remember if it's been said or not, if we can do ziplining at Maroma...

Re: All inclusive resorts?

Yeah, I think when we're able to hit Alaska it will be like a whale watching tour, and then more interior land excursions. It's so beautiful there, we want to really experience it.

Re: All inclusive resorts?

Yeah, we're pretty set on AI. We have no experience setting anything like this up...JD's set up his hunting trips w/his buddies, but w/that b/c it's his hobby, he knows what they're looking for. With this...we are a bit lost. My dad made the arrangements when we went to Vegas, b/c we went w/them and...

Re: All inclusive resorts?

Secrets Playa Mujeres just opened in November, so I would most definitely look into that one! It looks really nice. It does look really nice! Re: All inclusive resorts?

Well perfect-his only concern was the natural beach, so we'll still keep it narrowed down to those two then! We probably would do the ocean just to say we did it, if it's rocky/seaweedy or whatever, and then mostly stay in the pools. So long as the water is warm I don't care. I've only been in the o...

Ohhh I loooove looking at pictures! If we end up *not* being able to swing Maroma, which would be the next one you would recommend? JD didn't seem too thrilled w/the idea of the natural beach, but we figured we probably could/would just stay busy in the pools or elsewhere. Do you have anything up on...
