Re: Pre first day "open house"

Our preschool does intakes, where the parents come to fill out paperwork/go over the handbook etc, and we encourage them to bring their child so we can meet, check out the room, go thru their supplies etc. If they don't, no biggee. We, in the past, have done a "family night" where we invit...

Re: POLL Would You Want To Know If Your SO Was Having An Aff

I agree people should know each other better-and don't stop communicating after marriage either. It's no different in that aspect than any other relationship-you need to communicate. I don't think people go into marriages thinking they'll cheat, or looking at it like oh well, if I'm not getting what...

Re: Let's talk baby names

icekid-I *love* the name Maeve-it's gorgeous! It's the middle name I have picked out for our next puppy--and before anyone freaks out, understand that I place as high a value on naming my pets as I do naming my kids-and honestly I've spent more time pouring over names for my kitties and my dogs than...

Re: Can I get some help with vacuums?

We've been planning to rip out our carpeting, so when our last vacuum went south (riccar), mom brought me one of hers to borrow. Yes, my mom has multiple vacuums. It verges on a disorder, I'm pretty sure. It died, she brought me another, a Hoover I think. That one still works but she brought me a Dy...

Late to the thread, but you decided on what I was going to vote for-the three stone. I think it looked amazing when you had it loose in there.

Re: Not everyone wants kids

But I get constantly harangued by my dad's wife about how one is not a woman unless she has kids. I thought that was one of the most insulting thing I have ever heard. Wow, that IS one of the most insulting things! WTF I would like to tell that woman "Having kids doesn't make one a woman. Havi...

Re: POLL Would You Want To Know If Your SO Was Having An Aff

I feel like a lot of adults are not...grown up enough to be adults. Communication is hard. I get that. I don't like confrontation by any means; it makes me sick to my stomach. But, you know, I love my husband, and I want our marriage to work. I know he loves me and wants our marriage to work. We tal...

Re: POLL Would You Want To Know If Your SO Was Having An Aff

I don't understand why a person would get married, and vow to be faithful to someone for the rest of their life, if they want to be w/other people. If you think you are not capable of staying faithful, don't get married. Don't be in a "serious" relationship. Unless the status quo in that m...

Re: Would u prefer flowers or the $ set aside for bling

I *love* flowers. Love. If he were to buy me flowers, they would be to plant in our yard, not to have in a vase in the house. When I think of all the money we've put into what's in our yard...man I could have some kick a$$ sparklies! We've got quite a bit in our yard tho, so at this point I'd just r...

Re: Awfully cute terms of endearment

I sing Opilio's name to the Activia jingle. Oh peelie ohhhh! Sometimes I call her Peedio. When we call Chicken, sometimes we call her like we're calling chickens. Chick chick chick chick! JD has referred to her by the number code for chicken from when he worked at Tyson. P4552 or whatever it was. JD...

Re: How far would you go for a pet?

I'll risk the tomatoes that will be flung from afar. I'd not mortgage my house. I'd not sell a kidney. I'd not go get a second full time job-and not a part time job either. I love my kitties and my dog. I'm not going to go into debt for them. Not saying I wouldn't run out into traffic of Opilio ran ...

Re: Sister-in-law's Destination Wedding: How Much Is Too Muc

pppssst-Jordy, I want to see your wedding pics! The only person I love enough to spend that kind of money on to go to a wedding is my brother. Re: POLL Would You Want To Know If Your SO Was Having An Aff

Yes I absolutely would want to know. It would be a conscious decision on his part, to do that. And I believe that speaks to someone's character and the type of person they are. And I don't want anything to do w/a person like that.

Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

I like the idea of it being edgy..I'm so self conscious of my face and excess weight right now, I don't feel like I can pull off edgy..there's no confidence there currently. This is really really petty but..if it's raining and you have your wipers on a higher setting and then it quits raining or just is sprinkling...you don't need them at top warp speed winging back and forth like it's the 40 days and 40 nights all over again.

Re: Who Cuts Their Own Hair Around Here?

I used to have long hair, down to my bra strap, and what that girl does, is what I used to do. I did it for years. I did my bangs myself too-my bangs were about as long as the back of my hair so they were part of the length gradient.
