Re: Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Explains Why He Hates Fat Chicks

This is awesome. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/14/abercrombie-and-fitch-homeless-brand-readjustment_n_3272498.html Hmmm . . . I think it's a bit demeaning to homeless people to imply that they are so hideous that they can degrade a brand just by wearing the clothes. These people have feelin...

Re: Morning After Pill available to 15-YO girls OTC

You are talking about human beings, who's brains aren't fully developed, with impulse control issues because of the fact that their brains aren't fully developed yet. No, they won't always use condoms, among other stupid things. Trial and error (over and over on the same thing) is how they learn. T...

Thanks! Still considering sucking it up.

Joe is 1.5 hours south of my home so if anyone knows someone closer to the city, Oakland, Danville/WC, that would be great.

Jeweler for resizing ring in bay area

I need to resize my Leon Mege plain platinum solitaire as it came off the other day in the washing machine. That was a harrowing 30 mins waiting for the cycle to finish and trying to figure out whether it's small enough to go down the drains. Thankfully it's insured too. I requested a quote from Leo...

Re: Medifast...anyone done it?

Well, I started my weight loss goal 5 weeks ago and am half way there. I haven't reduced calories much, but instead worked on being more active and have doing high intensity interval training, step aerobics, and weight lifting. I don't think diets work. I would rather exercise a bit more and eat mo...

Re: is $400k in student loan worth it?

Well I'm speaking from my experience, which was $80,000 on a 6.8%, with minimum payments around $900 a month. My friend is a lawyer and owes $180,000 and her payments are about $1,600 a month. YIKES. I'm not sure making $100k (at least according to glassdoor.com) is worth the $400k in loans. ...

Re: How many times have you worn your wedding dress?

I wore it 3x, once at the initial try one, once for a fitting and then for the ceremony. I didn't keep the dress. Left it in the hotel room in Rome for the housekeeper who said she could use it. That is an awesome story! I trashed mine and it's currently in a bag on the floor of my closet. Nice way...

Re: Travel suggestions needed for August please!

Love the central america idea! I never get the it's hurricane season, so don't go thing. The chances of one hitting wherever you are at is the same as having an earthquake in the bay. Another few Caribbean islands to consider are the french side of St Martin and the BVI. Both safe, amazing, and grea...

I've always pronounced them "can-uh-pay" and "mis-e-rahbl" - I think there is a tendancy for English speakers to omit the "l" in "miserables" just like they ignore the "r" in "Louvre," and when I listen to native French speakers I hear bot...

Re: having a courthouse wedding before the actual wedding?

Something to think about is how your family and friends may react if that matters to you? I know some family who are a bit more old fashioned thought "what's the point of a wedding if you are already married?" when we got married at the courthouse before our destination wedding.

Re: Still afraid of what your parents say about your choices

Nope, not at all. My parents are actually great about letting me and my siblings live our lives. They don't have boundary issues like SO MANY parents I hear about on PS or elsewhere. Plus I'm a very confident person, so even if they did question my choices, it wouldn't bother me at all. Agreed. I d...

Re: BMI do you know yours? Are you shocked?

Here's a good article on why the BMI is bogus http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106268439 Makes sense since they don't account for gender. Women have wider hips and weight in the chest area. And professional athletes usually will score an obese in their BMI. From what I read, doct...

Re: Have you ever lived in another country?

I would strongly advise your husband NOT to commute from Basingstoke to London.
