Re: Calling LoganSapphire and other Fed moms

Hi Octavia! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I actually used 9 hours (because I work the 9 hour day) of AL and 9 hours of SL per pay period, and then the rest was LWOP. Vc10um is right- if there was a federal holiday, I placed my paid leave (so either the AL or SL) the day before or after, because...

Re: Books on relatives w/Borderline Personality Disorder?

I second (or third?) the Stop Walking on Eggshells book. I read it when dealing with a possible BPD ex-boyfriend.

Good luck to you.

Re: Harness-to-booster seat help needed!

LS, in case you didn't see Kohls has the 85 for $182 before tax w/ free shipping. You can stack codes SAVEABUNDLE & MAYFLOWERS. They only have the red SICT for that price but all of the other 85s. Thanks! By the time I hemmed and hawed over this purchase, the Kohls' stacking codes weren't valid...

Re: Carseat help

I'm not personally familiar with that seat, but I know it comes highly recommended. I I we're you, I'd call the manufacturer and explain the situation. You might have straps or a buckle that are defective- too short or uneven straps or buckle. They may send you a new one if there's a problem, especi...

Re: Harness-to-booster seat help needed!

Kunzite, great news! It's so hard to estimate torso growth! While we wait to decide on which Britax model, I installed his backup Nautilus. (He's not strapped in because I just wanted to check the headrest height.). He only has one more harness slot to go in that seat. I also tried him out in his si...

Harpertoo- did you do a domestic adoption or an international one? My daughter and I were both adopted from Korea (and I have a twin who was adopted with me).

Re: How long after marraige did you have babies?

We got married when I was 28 and he was 30. I wasn't sure I wanted kids, but we adopted our first child 2 weeks after I turned 33 and he turned 35 (we have the same birthday- he's two years old though). Second kid came along 2 weeks after I turned 34 and he turned 36.

Two and through!!

Re: Tall Girls' Club

Decidedly NOT tall (5'3") but I have a question about you tall ladies' kids or about yourself- did you or your kids always stay on a higher height growth curve? Was it obvious you or your kids would be tall? I ask because my son is consistently in the 90th to 95th percentile for height, though...

Kunzite, PLEASE measure your son's torso height and let me know!!!! He must be all torso!!! Are you sure he's 36" and not taller?? Very tall child! I hear you about stopping growing. Supposedly when they turn 3, their torso growth is supposed to slow down and they grow 1" of torso per year...

Harness-to-booster seat help needed!

My son, who turned 3 a couple of weeks ago, has a very long torso (16.5" from butt to shoulder and 40" overall). He is RFing in a Diono Radian in our primary car, but is FFing in a Britax Roundabout 55 in our second car. He has now outgrown the Roundabout completely, as his shoulders are a...

Re: Married people not wearing rings...

We wear our rings most of the time (married almost 9 years). Re: can you make a graduated 5 stone with a 6mm stone?

Niel- how long have you had your trinity? Have you had to get it polished yet? Would you take it to a jeweler or back to Cartier? I recently polished mine with a polishing cloth from E-Wedding Bands and I was shocked to see how tarnished it was. The cloth worked wonders, but I'm curious if the white...

Re: can you make a graduated 5 stone with a 6mm stone?

I sometimes wear my trinity with my three stone ering. Isn't yours the ultra slim like mine? Sometimes I think my ering is too high for the trinity, as it's a trellis. Perhaps a little lower of a setting would look better?

Re: Ear infection in toddler EVERY week?! Advice please!

Fi.Z- my son also has nut allergies! I really think it's all related. When he gets a bad cold and cough, we start Nasonex and sometimes Flovent (inhaler), and that usually keeps the cold from developing into an upper respiratory issue, which then leads to ear infections, etc. for him. Fortunately, h...

Re: Ear infection in toddler EVERY week?! Advice please!

I have heard that reflux and ear infections are related, if that gives you any clue. We suspect our son had untreated silent reflux as a baby, which could've caused the ear issues. Also, he has food allergies and respiratory issues- I think it's all related somehow.

Re: Big hands / long fingers...

Also, it'd be interesting to compare stats to our significant others.

I am 5'3", size 6.5/7 shoe, and size 3.5-3.75 ring. My husband is 6'1", size 9.5/10 shoe, and size 7.75/8 ring. He has lady hands

Re: A nice day to visit Cartier...

I agree with you and I own one! I actually own the ultra slim one, which is the thinnest you can get (even thinner than the one your daughter tried on). I agree that the bands can blend in and you lose the separate identity/color of each band, esp. in my ring's size and with my skin color. I also fo...

Re: Advice for buying a used Cartier Trinity ring

I have the ultra thin one (the thinnest one available) and it has the Cartier inscription on the rose gold band. In my case, b/c the bands are so thin, the inscription isn't very noticeable unless you shove your eye up to it.

Re: Looking for this wedding band without the ridiculous pri

E-wedding bands actually will customize their rings- not sure to what extent, but it's worth asking. They've custom-made me one ring and offered to do another to adjust the domed-ness of it (I didn't go that route- liked the ring as-is). However, once they do that, it is no longer refundable.
