Re: Help this gal make pierogi dough

My in-laws are Ukrainian and their recipe is definitely of the unwritten, just use some of each and you'll know when it feels right variety. It's been a while since I made pierogi with them but I seem to remember the dough they make is just flour, salt, egg, and maybe a little water? It's very, ver...

Re: Whats with Vatche U113 prices

The one from Since 1910 is quoted for white gold; if you want platinum, add $200 to bring it to $1900.

Re: textured yellow gold band stacker - any vendors recommen

I had a similar experience as SB- I've contacted them to make a ring out of my 21k necklace and they were very responsive and nice. I didn't end up doing it, but am still considering it in the future.

Re: My roller coaster upgrade continues..soon to be done!

Glad your partner is doing better- scary times!

Can you elaborate a little more about what made the Emilya not a good fit for your lifestyle? Victor has my stone now, also for an Emilya (but with cathedral shoulders) and reading your post has me a little nervous!

Re: Do men hit on you?

Almost never.

I did go through a period where I was hit on every day, multiple times...because I volunteered in a maximum security English prison and had a captive audience, so to speak. That was an interesting year.

Not an ering but technically could be. My five stone graduated OEC ring; I collected the stones and ERD made the setting.

Re: Another happy Canera buy - 1.73 H&A round plat split sha

Wow, it's gorgeous! Congratulations on your engagement and on a beautiful ring. I have my own stone with Victor and am excited to see what he creates.

What ring size is your fiancee?
Re: VC Emilya- does it need to be sized smaller?

Thanks! In addition to the new setting, I also ended up with a mini-upgrade of a 1.35 G SI2 GIA triple excellent (.6 on the HCA).

I wish I could take better pics but an iPhone is as good as it's getting.

VC Emilya- does it need to be sized smaller?

So I'm getting an Emilya (very excited!), but as I wait for my stone to make it there, I'm wondering about sizing. I know the shanks tend to be thin, like around 1.8mm. I have a 1.8mm shank ring that is in a size 4. I actually wear a 3.75 but had a mini freakout and asked the ring to be sized up a l...

Re: Books/tips on strong-willed kids?

Posting kind of late here, but my 4 year old is very strong-willed (whereas my 6 year old is so compliant and easygoing). I've started reading the Kazdin Method for Parenting Defiant Children and like it very much. Your child is probably too young to start following the methods, but if he's still st...

Re: Setting Remorse?

This is a timely question for me, as I'm about to send my stone off to VC for its final home. I debated spending the money instead on upgrading the stone (and I did do a mini upgrade of one grade better color, slightly bigger in size, and most importantly, an upgrade in cut quality), but in the end,...

Re: KIDS What Would You Have Done Differently?

Mine are only 4 and 6, so I've plenty of time to screw them up  , but the one thing I wish we would've done differently is with discipline- being consistent from the start and not giving in when one of them (*ahem* DS) whined. It's taking a lot more work now to undo the negative effects of that.

Plain shank Emilya- does anyone have one?

I'm considering resetting my ering into an Emilya, but am debating two things: 1. Include cathedral shoulders, like this beautiful ring: http://www.pricescope.com/forum/post3569507.html#p3569507 or keep the original style? 2. Ask for a plain shank or keep the pave? I prefer the look of pave but am c...

Re: Victor Canera Evelyn with Flush Stems & BGB

Can you talk more about the comfort of the pave? I'm sure since it's perfect, it feels much smoother than your standard pave, but I'm still curious how it feels in between the fingers.

Re: Men's Tiffany Lucida 4.5mm look to small on my finger?

Can I chime in again? I have the Lucida 3mm AND had a 3.5mm low domed band from E-Wedding Bands (and obviously my husband has the 4.5mm from EWB). While they're very similar, there's still a difference and the Lucida is still the more comfortable and smoother one. It's hard to explain!

Re: Men's Tiffany Lucida 4.5mm look to small on my finger?

I posted earlier. The first pic is my husband's 4.5mm low dome rose gold band and the second is his 5mm yellow gold band with milgrain. His finger size is either 7.5 or 7.75. His fingers are also short.

I gave my husband a pair of Tiffany Eternal Circle cuff links, since his first gift ever to me was an Eternal Circle jade pendant. He gave me Tiffany starfish earrings and a pendant, since we got married in a beachy locale.

Re: Advice: which hand for wearing my five stone ring?

I have a five stone that I wear on my right hand; my ering is a three stone though it may get a new look soon. Re: Who pays for the wedding...What's the American rule?

Re: identify stone Jewler switched my Tanzanite with

I agree with Chrono. You can have an independent appraiser identify the stone, but that will be expensive. Martin Fuller is a expert on colored stones, and is in the DC area, but it will cost >$150 to get a full appraisal from him. (I last required his services 4 years ago and do not know his curre...

Re: do people swear at you at work?

In a former job- child protection work. No surprise though, as we were there to investigate allegations of child abuse and/or remove people's children if necessary. In my current job, very rarely. I work for the federal govt with some law enforcement agencies- sometimes they can use saltier language.
