Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Hi there! Sorry to butt in on this thread. I lurk on the baby threads (my daughter is sixteen mos) and I just wanted to recommend my diaper bag. It's the Kipling Defea in platinum metallic. I love love love it! It's extremely lightweight and has tons of pockets. Things are so easy to find with this ...

So; no there are no numbers to support that gun control works. Perry Er ... did you *read* the posts from our Australian contingent? yes, and then i read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Australia I don't think anyone from AU is suggesting that gun control if full proof and unfail...

Re: Cooking with Tumeric

LV- here is a good scrambled egg recipe. As far as winging it- I would start with a small amount (a pinch) and go from there.

Re: Cooking with Tumeric

I also wanted to add that I love to use Turmeric along with other spices in a rub that you can quickly throw on just about any cut of meat and then grill. It's so tasty and easy- 1/2 tsp curry powder 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp cinnamon...

Re: Cooking with Tumeric

Hi Loves Vintage! I try to incorporate turmeric in foods, but it definitely can be challenging because it has a rather bitter flavor. I love eggs, so when I make egg salad or scrambled eggs I use it in those. I also have found that it is good in chili as well. Turmeric seems to work well with onions...

This is just so incredibly awful. I actually grew up in Aurora, so this definitely hits close to home. I feel so sorry for the all of the victims families. :blackeye:

Re: Early Onset Dementia

Haven, I'm sorry that I haven't read the entire thread, but I just wanted to chime in with my experience with dementia. My father has early onset dementia that began in his late fifties. His is a rare form called FTD (frontotemporal lobe dementia-probable Pick's subtype) This type of dementia hits e...

TGal, I don't understand why you even bother replying to her thread when you obviously have nothing positive to contribute and just seem to want to take this as an opportunity to subtlety make her out to be mentally unstable. You are not the only one who is doing this, either. I for one appreciate ...

Re: Been batting around an idea for a while...

I took a closer look at the etsy ring, and it's razor thin! :o Dainty is one thing, but this is a whole different animal. I don't think that would be durable or practical at all. A 1mm platinum ring would very likely go out of round or bend. She has said several times that the whole point of this s...

Re: Been batting around an idea for a while...

I don't really think I need to go back through years of threads to give my opinion on these particular rings that she posted about. I've read her more recent threads on the problems with her wedding set, and I am just giving my opinion, based on why she said she worries about wearing her current wed...

Re: Been batting around an idea for a while...

Yes, TGal, I have read the other threads. I just think she needs to get out of this pattern of worrying about her wedding set, and she has stated that she won't be as worried about a less expensive set. I think there is too much negativity attached to her wedding set for her to be able to enjoy it. ...

Re: Been batting around an idea for a while...

Ame, I can totally understand why you would be worried about your rings, especially since you haven't had any luck with professionals fixing them correctly. My platinum bezel needs to be repaired, but I am scared not only to put the ring in the mail back to the vendor, but worried that they won't fi...

Re: Becoming a step parent

I am a stepmom to a 10 year old boy. I came into his life when he was just turning six. I am lucky that he is a sweet natured boy and we have a good relationship, but being a stepmom is a very hard thing. Quite frankly I am scared to death of the teenage years with him. It is definitely easier the y...

Re: TTC when you are around 40 years old?

Thanks Maisie! We were completely thrilled and in a complete state of shock! Throughout the pregnancy I kept thinking that something was going to go wrong, so I had a hard time letting myself be excited. It wasn't until our gender/anatomy ultrasound that I finally was able to relax a little and enjo...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

I love hearing you ladies talk about your little ones reaching milestones (sitting up, rolling over, STTN, etc.), but it seems like such a long way off with a newborn/preemie. I'm sure it'll creep up on me much faster than I think. I'm so jealous of all the beautiful Christmas baby photos! We compl...

Re: TTC when you are around 40 years old?

Hi Maisie! I'm not trying to convince you either way, but I thought I would chime in with my story. I just gave birth to a healthy baby girl four months ago at age 40. We started TTC right after our wedding (I was 38 at the time) and tried for six months with no luck before moving on to a reproducti...

Re: Trend Vent - Current Jewelry Things You Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Thank you Mrs Jam and Amy's Bling- Now that I have had a chance to cool down, I am willing to acknowledge that I shouldn't have opened up a "vent" thread. Posters in a different thread are discussing this, and I agree completely that people have a right to their opinions. I just think that...

Re: Trend Vent - Current Jewelry Things You Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I think the mass produced journey necklaces are tacky and hideous, especially ones with a squiggle. I don't post much anymore, but this comment motivated me to come out of lurkdom. I wanted to post a picture of my so-called "tacky and hideous" squiggle journey pendant and earrings that I ...

Re: My new baby OMC!!

Thanks LGK- I was hoping that you and Uppy would comment. When you buy a stone on ebay there can sometimes be a little uncertainty.
