go to the galleria and go the the center of the mall by zales and the elevators, by kona grill and borders.
now go to the middle floor. there is an upscale "mom and pop" jeweler that has fixed anything that i brought in.

it is by a godiva chocolate portable selling cart.

i can answer this one. my quarter carat tiny round engagement ring had several resets of white gold prongs. yes i wore them down to nubs. and wonky, easily bendable prongs going every direction. the platinum prongs i have presently are holding up much better. how did they abrade? sewing/ fabric...

ask whether he/she has a dress code. i know our officiant would not wed us or let us use his church without having the dresses appproved by the "church lady" in advance.

our church required: had to have sleeves and up to the collar bone on the neckline. no backless, strapless, etc.

and ladies, don't forget about chafing. at sca events and ren faire we wear bicylcle shorts, desitin, or  secret unscented antiperspirant under our dresses. edited to add: when i worked at texas renfaire, we used to garden and do physical labor in july and august to acclimate to the heat before...

i have terrific luck buying things on ebay.

try mlopros and greatstuff53. have to check in daily with these people because they get fresh stuff all the time. they also magnifiy the pix so you see what you get.

i would also consider mels'' antique jewelry. seems like nice quality stuff.
