Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks, aviastar. I think this month was a bit of an emotional break for me - I pretty much detached myself from TTC, though I did at least take opks to give us decent BD timing, if not quantity. I think it was in part mental preparation for the upcoming US and possible news from that. Retail therap...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

RT, I am so very very sorry. I've been quiet but checking in on you ladies. I needed a break from watching and talking about my cycle and TTC in general. Technically, I'm in my 7th TWW and could move to the >6 month thread, but I find the prospect depressing. I ovulated late, so I need to call and r...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Evergreen, the wondfo LH sticks come with a chart in the instructions that gives a suggestion of when to start testing based on your cycle length. CD9 for a 28 day cycle sounds about right. My first couple months using them, I tested twice a day to make sure I caught the surge, and the result was di...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Didn't test 7dpo, spent all day 7dpo telling myself not to test 8dpo. Still super early, but also in the range of what has turned up BFP on these boards (like April20, the early testing super-enabler).

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I spent all yesterday (7dpo) coming to peace with not testing in the morning. I really think I could have resisted. I was in a good place. Then, just before bed, DH asks, "so when do you start testing?"

I'm at least giving myself credit for not wasting a FRER, just a wondfo...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Baby_M, that's a great example of how the really conservative recommendations and treatment of pregnancy as a zero-tolerance, no ifs ands or buts condition can result in a passionate stance not necessarily grounded in the evidence behind the original recommendations or biological fact, for that matt...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hehehe, amc. Mine does all the scooping too, and always has despite me never being pregnant yet. It started when we got our boys as kittens, and I wondered aloud how long before pregnancy it'd be ok to catch Tox and have it clear my system. He was instantly paranoid, and now I only scoop when he's o...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hugs, RT. I know that's got to be rough. :blackeye: Evergreen, I get where you're coming from with the epidemiology statistics re: risk, i.e. for each person it's all or nothing, but I think that's why, personally, I know I will err on the side of caution for things with decent evidence of being a p...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Welcome, Kama! :wavey: I think the other ladies pretty much covered the long and the short of it re: tests and that yes, you can test before AF is due. I think my only caution would be to keep in mind your personality, degree of obsessiveness, and how you handle hope and rejection, when venturing in...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Love your shirt design, RT, and that's an awesome prize! Well, despite the "norm" of only affecting the LP, seems like the P completely changed both AF and ovulation for me. AF got a slightly slow start, thanks to the forced delay, but even once she hit her usual flow, she still dragged on ...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks for all the advice, MP. My doc is open to dialog, so I'll be sure to push for a careful workup and monitoring if we get to the point of needing a different approach. My cycle is on the longer side (31-32 days), but that isn't anything new - my cycles were the same length 10 years ago. The onl...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks, MP! That's what I figured, but I wanted to be sure. No, doc didn't test my P levels before prescribing it. She took my history of when my spotting started (around 10dpo), what it was like vs when AF showed, that I was consistently ovulating around the same time, had a temp rise, etc and imme...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks, Tourmaline. I'm sorry you haven't had any luck so far on #5, but what a blessing to have 4 running around to keep you busy and loved. :) My good news is that I made it through to the evening of 15dpo before any spotting, and it was very light. So, the prometrium 100% made the difference for ...

evergreen, here's hoping your girls shake it off and get down to business soon! Good that you're ok with side effects, ladiciel. Re: The Official TTC Thread!

No plans yet to test my levels. My doc actually prescribed the progesterone without testing first. I was ok with that, based on everything I've read about the fuzziness of progesterone testing (a single serum test isn't necessarily a good metric of overall progesterone levels - they can be really va...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Our group has gotten pretty small in here, but I figured I'd stop in with an update. I'm 11dpo and BFN this morning. BUT, no spotting!!! :appl: I've spotted before or on 10dpo every month since before we started trying, so for me to make it this far and not see even a hint of it (knock on wood) is a...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I haven't tried the curved handles yet, but the difference won't matter a bit - I always collect and dip. For one, I mostly use wondfos and have to do it that way, and for two, I like the insurance of knowing I didn't waste that chance/sample if the test is screwy for some reason. Sorry to hear abou...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Wow, that's super frustrating. Does exercise affect you the same way, or is it just how much you eat? (Or maybe it's the balance of cals in vs out?) :( My DH has been traveling a lot, too, so I 100% understand the extra stress brought on by a moving target. You think you've got it all figured out, h...

Yes, we're definitely considering a van or SUV/crossover something or other! Well, I've been wishing I could stop focusing on symptoms, but not like this. I've mentioned that DH does a lot of driving for work. Fingers crossed, amc!! If you're critically concerned....I can't remember where you're located, but if it's available by you, you could consider Plan B. Ruh roh. The bright side of this story is you're managing to get time in for you and *someone* w/ a 4mo old, but that may have just come to a grinding halt with him kicked to the doghouse! One hope is that the stress of a possible BFP will make ov late this month, maybe?
