Re: Ebola arrives in America tomorrow on a fancy private jet

I'm about to type something and everyone on here is going to think I'm crazy. I heard about this doctor on the trash paper on line called Daily Mail before anything was being reported here. They said on ABC news at 5:30 that he had been self quarantined. The Daily Mail reported he rode a subway and...

Re: Ebola arrives in America tomorrow on a fancy private jet

Test results are in. The doctor, now in NYC's Bellevue Hospital, who treated Ebola patients in West Africa does have Ebola. His girlfriend is also in isolation now. Nothing to worry about though. Manhattan is not very densely populated, and people rarely are in close contact with each other....

Re: Do you ever get depressed on your birthday?

I don't care about birthdays. I don't care that the earth is the same place in its orbit around the sun as it was the day I was born. Big Whoop! I'm just not that important, even to me. We're born, we do stuff, and we die. Yawn. I don't celebrate any birthdays except my SO's, since he wants that. Bi...

Very NSFW ... http://www.mtv.com/news/1971711/potty-mouth-princess-little-girls-swearing-feminism-video/ This is an ad from a for-profit T-shirt maker. Hmm. I'm not sure how I feel about exploiting social issues to sell T-shirts or using little girls to say this stuff. I realize we live in an age of...

Re: Just in time for XYZmas, Breaking Bad Action Figures

Have you ever seen the show Kenny? No, and that is not relevant and the question shows you have drunk the Kool Aide that sets aside morality. Meth production and sales: Bad. Action figures of people who do that: Bad. Selling them in a toy store: Bad. That said I truly deeply appreciate good films a...

Re: Just in time for XYZmas, Breaking Bad Action Figures

I feel very strongly about this. It is a very personal gut-level thing. I lost both of my older brothers to drug abuse. As a kid I felt the peer pressure to smoke, and do drugs and alcohol. Of course there was an appeal of being accepted by the cool and in crowd. I have no idea how/where I got the r...

Ok fine, while they're at it ban GI JOE, ban Lego, ban superheroes. BAN ALL TOYS. They ALL influence children negatively in some way when a parent isn't intervening. Legos are okay. Superheros and GI Joe? Yeah ban them too. Kids need realistic role models, not Superman. :knockout: How bout a Gandhi...

Re: The psychology behind Costco's free samples

Thanks, but the closest Costco is SOOO close and convenient ... and I doubt a business one will have all the stuff I want.

Do they have everything the other Costcos have, just no free samples?
I doubt it.

I believe samples are offered during certain hours so maybe you can shop other times if it is frustrating for you. No at my local Costco. It seems they are now there every minute Costco is open. We have this $6.50 frother which whips up the cream nicely. http://www.amazon.com/b?node=14042381 jdfjdshkfjhd.jpg YMMV, I'm not poo pooing anything or criticizing! I love lots of my expensive doodads too. I'm just a super tightwad with almost everything so I can splurge on a few things.

Every morning I make a cup of the best coffee I've ever tasted in my pour-over thinge. I think I paid 25 cents for it many years ago in a thrift store. Re: Just in time for XYZmas, Breaking Bad Action Figures

I voted no, but IMO they shouldn't sell other stuff that harms impressionable young minds, such as Barbie dolls.

Maybe kids are not influenced by 'cool stuff' they are exposed to.

Just in time for XYZmas, Breaking Bad Action Figures

Should Toys R Us be selling drug dealer action figures that come with bags of meth and cash?

I've never seen it but I think Breaking Bad is a movie or TV show.
