Re: Teachers can still beat students in 19 states

That word 'BEAT" bothers me so I'll interpret it as slap or hit with a hard object. As a retired teacher, I swear I did neither; however, to be truthful, there were times that I felt sorely tempted...... I learned in Teacher's College that touching a student was grounds for immediate dismissal....

Re: Would you tell the truth if someone show you a fake..

That is one of the best 'diamond stories' I've ever heard!!! The truth will out....as the saying goes  A very long time ago DH and I were in Florida and I spied a jewelry store and DH in hot pursuit (to prevent me from buying anything). The jeweler had a lovely selection of rings and while I w...

Re: Do you have a housekeeper?

We've had a lovely lady clean our house every other week for the past 16 years. :appl: :wavey:

She's become part of our family. When we treat her to a nice lunch in our area, I introduce her as our friend. Really she is!

Re: A cat sat on my steps meowing to come in... Now what? (P

Oh puleeeeze! This kitty looks as if SHE is at home right now :appl: Yes, get all necessary testing and spaying done, BUT the proof is that kitty didn't know how to play. It may seem unimportant now , but a kitty that can't play is a very unhappy girl. Get her checked out, by all means, but kitty lo...

A house without pets isn't a home to me. It feels sterile and cold. I guess I just don't understand where your husband is coming from Isaku. I mean, don't get me wrong my husband makes proclamations all the time. "6 cats is too many"... "We're never having 6 cats again"... and w...

Re: A cat sat on my steps meowing to come in... Now what? (P

My SO and I discussed it. We will make every effort to locate this kitty's home, as well as getting proper veterinary care in the morning. We won't be calling the shelter. If a month goes by and no one claims the kitten we will get i.d. tags made and embrace a 2 cat household. This is the answer I ...

Re: If you were to go "belly up" tomorrow ...

There is no way in hell that I want my daughter to inherit one piece of my jewelry. I have to get busy and include the necessary codicil in my will. It will state that both granddaughters will share my 'jewels'. First, everything that's left will have an independent appraisal. After that there will ...

Re: Show us your Bez Ambar pieces

I have no pics, alas, but I really love the BA pieces I've seen: his Blaze cuts are as close to french cuts as I've seen from any modern designer. Re: Show us your Bez Ambar pieces

I don't own any pieces by them. But I ADORE their knife edge halo. I could only find a smaller pic of that setting with a princess, but the picture of it with an EC shows the workmanship close up, which is lovely. I would get this halo in a heartbeat. Show us your Bez Ambar pieces

I'm thinking of making adjustments to my princess cut to make it 'unique'. I've looked online at Bez Ambar pieces, and I think I might spring for my princess with the Blaze cut diamonds in a 'decent' size as a halo. The princess is 1.77c E VVS2 and I'd like the halo to use the same quality of stones...

Is there any particular reason - like a new fancy diamond, or a larger Octavia is in the works?

Re: Reason for spending $$$ on e-ring?

We live about one hour west of Toronto so we used to visit regularly to 'window-shop'. Of course, many others were doing just the same, but one store in particular stood out - Royal de Versailles on Bloor Street.
