Re: Tsavorite and diamond danglies

I. Love. Them. They're v.elegant, too . . . like you could wear them on a fancy night. And such an incredible deal! I'm always amazed when people we know treat us so rudely when we show off a new sparkly. I don't care if it's b/c they're jealous/think we're showing off, OR if they simply aren't inte...

Re: Certificate of authenticity for mahenge spinel

No certificate for me, either, but I honestly never thought about it. With the secretive way of shipping, likely he doesn't include it with the stone for the sake of safety. And, like TL says . . . if you're nervous about it not being real, a "hey, this is a Mahenge spinel" note taped to t...

Re: Pink FCD Final Lineup!

That link doesn't bring anything up but basically a blank page. Help me out. How do I find that setting? Their site claims you'll see that page if you register/login. They limit the archive contents for non-members. I registered, though, and only get error messages, so . . . it may be down right now.

Re: Opinions

I'm not really good at reading these yet. But . . . of these two, I definitely prefer the larger -- the smaller looks a little too dark. It's so difficult to judge by a single picture like this, especially a comparison shot, b/c they have to share the shot. But the smaller's cut looks a little blah....

Re: Setting suggestions for my Mahenge Spinel pear

http://www.pricescope.com/files/images/cr-030-t-f2.jpg Steven Kirsch, http://www.timelessluxury.net This!!! Me too. It takes a sort of severe point and interprets it without being TOO sinister. The pave work looks nice too. I don't usually like multi-band shanks, but the triple effect here is reall...

Re: F/U to Daniel M Blue Topaz Cushion Pendant

I have to say, when I first read the title this morning, I expected a MUCH MUCH different tone to the post inside. LOL

It took me a whole visit to the hair salon to figure out what ELSE "f/u" would mean.

But now I understand. They are lovely!

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! OooShiney, you are hilarious. And OOOH, Athenaworth, THAT is a good setting! I love that rope work . . . Re: Pixy Joins the Mahenge Fan Club

Thank you everyone for your kind words! And thank you for the double halo, Uppy . . . I'm sorry that you found it not up to par in person, though, TL. I DO like the metal-edged halos, much like the "Legacy" settings that are so loved. Does the idea of tsavorite pear sides not sound good? I...

Re: Pixy Joins the Mahenge Fan Club

Am I ruining the story by jumping in right now? I can clearly see that the pear trumps the 2 ovals in the group picture, even though the pear is the smallest one. Still, that trillion is mighty tempting. You'll have to share how accurate Eric's pictures are compared to what you see IRL a...

Re: Pixy Joins the Mahenge Fan Club

Eric was really steadfast in his recommendation that the pear, though small, was the top for me. This felt like a really truthful recommendation, because the other gems were more pricey. So . . . after some handshots of the gems, and after writing him an email which I revised about 243 times, each t...

Re: Pixy Joins the Mahenge Fan Club

At 1.32ct, the pear was 7.6 x 5.6 x 4.35. And I worried that it's small stature was just too tiny to be able to appreciate the color . . . which is why we're all here. So I asked about others. I asked about this trillion that BrightIce had posted in her thread. I also told him I upped my budget, to ...

Pixy Joins the Mahenge Fan Club

I've looked at the Mahenge spinels on Swala's site for a long time now. It was pretty clear (at least in my mind) that Eric was "The Man" to see about one. Selection, knowledge, etc. I didn't have a great budget, but there was one little pear on his site that looked really suitable. In the...

Re: More sidestones for your perusal.... Plus new ovals!

Did I read you wrong when you commented that the jeweler made that asscher ring for less than 1k? Re: I have this Swala Spinel coming

It's gorgeous, that's a great enviable size! When do we see yours? I see why all of Eric's shots of mine have it on it's side. LOL It's basically a smaller version of OooShiney's, and I know my poor little point-and-shoot isn't going to do it half-justice, so I've been procrastinating. I'll try thi...

The spess in these shots -- now THAT is wow. Va-va-VOOM! Much better looking than the pics you posted of it yesterday. Just . . . Wow. I see what you mean about a "statement", but at the same time, it sort of seems that the size of the trillions is a little better paired with the tourmalin...

Re: Your thoughts on this spess/diamond combo

It's a great size and if you see no brown, then I LOVE it. I like it with the emerald sides, but I probably wouldn't do melee down the shank. I think the three stone with a plain band would have a lovely classic look. Seems like with the emerald sides, you might have total finger coverage, too -- so...

My shipping is through something called Aramex. I did a search and it seems that Aramex facilitates the shipment, and it would end up being delivered through a FedEx or the like.
