Re: My newest Whiteflash 2.3ctw ACA studs upgrade!!!

Now for a little bonus to my WF collection! My friend m-2-b is doing a little upgrading to her collection, and I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to become the new owner of her Whiteflash DBTY bracelet with six 15 point stones in platinum which just happens to perfectly match my 36" W...
Re: My newest Whiteflash 2.3ctw ACA studs upgrade!!!

I cannot seem to get a good ear shot to save my life. It was cloudy several days in the last week which complicated it. So here is the only one so far. Below it is a picture of my former .80 each on the left and .65 each on the right, so you can see the size difference, sort of.
My newest Whiteflash 2.3ctw ACA studs upgrade!!!

Whiteflash probably would have never had an upgrade policy if they had known about me in advance, but I am REALLY happy and thankful that they DO! I gave my first pair of studs to my daughter, then I got myself a temporary small pair at .65 cts each, then I upgraded to .80 each thinking t...

Re: Which Band?

Both would be a good solution! But otherwise, look at my tagline. If I followed my own advice, I'd have saved a LOT of money over the years! You KNOW when you are in love with a piece, and that is how I try to buy now. If I do not have a feeling of being struck by the beauty of something and really ...

Re: Anybody Have These Whiteflash Hoops?

Oh wow, $170 for 18k? That is quite amazing! Kate's piercings are close to the bottom of her lobes, so she can wear the 12mm huggies. That is the main reason I was afraid to try the KMcD ones. There is actually an ear shot of the WF ones which are 13.8mm, and that shows me that even though my pierci...

Re: Buying based on diamond specs (4Cs, HCA) alone Bad idea?

If you want to buy safely out of state and want the best cut diamonds, you can look at Whiteflash and High Performance Diamonds (Cut by Infinity). Those are very reputable vendors with superior super ideal cut stones in-house. They provide images and light performance testing. You might take a look ...

Re: Oval experts I could use your opinion.

I hate that it is D VVS1 because I usually do not like to pay for that color/clarity combination as E or F VS1 would be virtually the same in appearance, but it is a beautiful stone. The only negative that I see is the thick girdle which means it is hiding some weight there rather than increased spr...

Oh, Dani, just wanted to say again that I am sorry this process is so frustrating! It is beyond comprehension that you have to deal with this while getting a cancer diagnosis and a major move at the same time!

What kind of cross did you have?

Re: Niel, Gypsy and others please advise on which is better?

Lifetime warranties on settings are pretty worthless. In any event, a Tacori setting would have a warranty from Tacori for any defects when bought from an authorized dealer. It is extremely rare for anyone to come here with setting defects if the setting is decent quality at the outset. Wear and tea...

Re: Oval experts I could use your opinion.

I prefer more like 7x9mm. This one is still longer than I like for the width. But it is a little better than the other one. Table size and crown look better. Girdle is better. Symmetry is still only good and we usually recommend very good or excellent for polish and symmetry. I'd expand the search t...

Re: Oval experts I could use your opinion.

It looks too long and skinny to me. The table is big and the crown is low. Part of the girdle is very thin (thin, medium, or slightly thick are okay). Symmetry is only good. I would eliminate this one, personally. This one may not be the best you can find, but it shows you a better proportioned ston...

Re: Can I get a new peg head??

Your ring is beautiful and I honestly cannot see how you could add a halo to the center without messing up the overall design. When I was reading before I saw the picture, I would have said yes, but really it would be better to just remake the whole ring than just keep the shank. However, with those...

Re: Money already spent

It totally depends on when the diamond was bought. The stone I bought from GOG in 2006 was sold at a profit in 2012, I think. The stone I bought in 2013 probably would sell new for about what I bought it for or maybe a little less (but I'd lose a percentage selling it on commission).

Re: Etiquette Poll

If it is subtle it is OK and for dripping i.e. a runny nose and dabbing gently yes, it is OK and one shouldn't have to leave the table every time they need to gently dab at their nose. But, don't use the dinner napkin please for that use (unless it is an emergency of course) and if one has to reall...

Re: Niel, Gypsy and others please advise on which is better?

Whiteflash sells Tacori and top quality hearts and arrows stones. She is just not informed about AGS grading, but an AGS ideal cut is a much narrower grade than GIA Excellent. I would much rather have a superideal cut G stone than a GIA Ex F that wasn't as well cut. But in any event, you can go with...

I am sure you know that I can't answer that question because I believe Bryan has already done his best at doing so. Re: Niel, Gypsy and others please advise on which is better?

Welcome! No, the HCA score will not tell you which stone is better. It is just a screener for GIA stones to try to narrow down the better stones within the Excellent cut category and then you get the idealscope images to determine the best stone. A lower score is not better than a higher score as lo...
