Re: PSA: FBI recommends you tape over your webcam's lens

I have mine covered, too. I cut a little circle from blue painters tape. I can't even tell where the microphone is. Although, I am usually not talking to my computer.

Re: Top 3 pictures of your lovelies?

Thank you so much, distracts! Like you, I am a sapphire lover! I was very thrilled to find an emerald cut one in a color I had been wanting. And Caysie really made the perfect setting! I give info on where I found the stone in my thread, and there are a lot more pictures! http://www.pricescope.com/f...

Re: Top 3 pictures of your lovelies?

Okay, I'll play. Hard to choose 3, but here are 3 of my favorite pics as of today.

2.29 AVR, Beaudry ring with asscher diamond, and lavender sapphire set in CVB Inspired Design setting (this photo by LAD).

Re: Why do you like old eurpoean cut diamonds?

Ah, very pretty! Certainly antique stones are best in antique settings! Show us some ear shots when you get them!

Re: M Color Vs. SI2 with Visible Inclusions

You aren't limited to those two for AVRs. Jonathan will have one cut for you, unless he doesn't do it under a certain size. Have you asked?

What is your budget?

Re: Why do you like old eurpoean cut diamonds?

For me, it's the beautiful pastel colours they return and the chunky facets. In a linked question, I've never seen a modern antique cut (CER or AVR) in person before. If they're cut for better light return that OECs (amongst other things), do they favour more white light return at the expense of th...

Re: Black by Brian Gavin vs the Signature line

I was thinking maybe they were going to market the black line through local jewelers or something. I think it will totally backfire if they offer diamonds that are supposedly better than their signature line. But it does just look like it would be higher color and clarity. Their prices have been hig...

Re: So I got the cluster ring

I think it is gorgeous! But is the pear ring yours? Because if it is, they look very much alike to me other than the center stone shape. But if you want a round cluster ring, I don't see finding a better one than that. If the center gets bigger and the outer stones smaller, then that's a halo...

Re: Vendor w whom you have upgrade option has higher prices.

The PS vendor upgrade/buyback programs are less than worthless for me. Setup so they can make a profit reselling my stone and they can make profit on a new stone I buy as well. Its no surprise they are more expensive than decent alternatives if you were buying a "Superideal" they were mor...

Re: Will you get a flu shot this fall?

Nope. Low effectiveness rate doesn't inspire me to get the shot. I can see it for health care workers and the elderly or otherwise ill. But healthy people with strong immune systems just don't need it, as far as I am concerned. I think the change in recommendation to immunize everyone is ALL about :...

Phoenix, thank you for not being mad at me for expressing an opinion that was not in line with what you had already expressed that you wanted. Re: Understand OEC's; different cuts and light performances

OECs were each individually cut and not to a strict formula like modern stones (such as hearts and arrows) may be cut. So each one is unique. Like any diamonds, some are more beautifully cut than others. Some have better facet patterns and light return. I think the 4.55 ct diamond has a beautiful fa...

Re: Value Old European Cut over 12ct

Those earrings are absolutely incredible!!! Gorgeous settings!   I gotta be honest like my friend above, I extremely dislike the setting on the 12 ct stone. It looks like a man's ring. The settings on all the other OECs are complimentary to the antique style of the stones. In seei...

Re: Pediatricians are 'firing' anti-vax parents

I don't have children but have never understood giving multiple vaccines at the same time. It makes no sense to me. Re: Pediatricians are 'firing' anti-vax parents

This boils down to the rights of the individual vs. those of the collective. When public health is at stake (as with red lights at intersections) the rights of collective must prevail. Yes I realize you are a special snowflake late for your appointment, but too bad; you must stop at the red lights....

Re: Pediatricians are 'firing' anti-vax parents

No, no debate here, no vaccines for my kids or myself for that matter. If that makes me a terrible member of society so be it but my priority is protecting MY kids who have already been identified as susceptible to injury. Don't worry though, if H.R 2232 gets passed then any child in a public schoo...
