Re: IDJ Selection vs PS Quality Stones

I'd want more specific than "PS quality stones". You need to specify the cut (excellent/ideal), color, and clarity. In the past, people have sometimes been unhappy even with the PS quality due to there being visible inclusions. I'd be asking for VS clarity, personally, so I didn't have to ...

Re: 1.41 ct--Did I make a mistake??

If you already have a halo setting, you can't just go larger on the diamond. If the current stone fits properly, there's no point in looking at larger stones. You maybe can find a better cut one or a lower priced one. If the ring itself is returnable, then we can help you.

Re: When do you get your flu vaccine?

I actually avoid fish with higher levels of mercury, I rarely eat rice, and I buy as much organic food as I can. I realize I can't avoid all metals. But if I can eat healthier foods and avoid some metals, why not? Why would anyone object I chose a shot without mercury??? Is it less effective? Even i...

Re: Need some car input--do you drive any of these vehicles?

Just wanted to say that I have a Toyota Venza which is between the Highlander and the Rav4 in size. Mine was pretty much maxed out and fit within your parameters. In fact, it has things I now wish I didn't pay for! I don't use it's navigation because it is easier for me to use my iPhone for that!

Re: When do you get your flu vaccine?

Just for the record, I also avoid fish that are known to be high in mercury content, not just mercury in vaccines. Alzheimers is horrific, and if I can do simple things to possibly help improve my prospects, I do!

Re: Do you hide your love, er, obsession for fine jewelry?

My immediate family is aware of my jewelry hobby...husband, children, and my 2 sisters, but that's it. I'd never discuss it with anyone else unless the topic somehow came up, and it never does. I wear a moderate amount of jewelry when I go places, never over the top. I think in your case, Madelise, ...

Re: Where Would You Go if You Could Only Take One Last Trip

Wow, lambskin, that is impressive! We all need to consult with you before planning future trips! Sadly, there are places I'd like to go that I no longer feel are safe to visit due to internal or external conflicts or the potential for terrorism or hostility towards Americans. I think my husband and ...

Re: When do you get your flu vaccine?

I have read articles that say the flu shot is very questionable in effectiveness. So this is not one I am sure about getting, although I did for a few years before I read more about them. In any case, be sure you get one without thimerisol which is mercury based. Single dose vials do not have it. My...

Re: Petite Torchiere With Diamonds on Shank vs Original

I greatly prefer that ring with the plain shank, and then add one of MM's diamond wedding bands later. You really have to consider what the whole set will look like, and I think too many little diamonds will take away from the elegance of that design. I love his diamond wedding bands!

Re: Green Yellow pink pear diamonds

I like white diamond halos on colored stones, generally, because I think it highlights the color of the colored stone much more than setting it alone. But of course, it depends on what you're making!

I love AVR's, as you might expect, and mine is also an I color. I would not hesitate to get the petite torchiere with the little diamonds in a higher color. They are on the sides so it won't matter at all! Can't wait to see it!

Re: Your thoughts on this rough diamond price

I will have to agree with marymm that something like this would be far preferable for a ring: http://www.johnbetts-fineminerals.com/jhbnyc/gifs/59583.htm How about rose cut diamonds? That is rarely seen outside of Pricescope and would make a beautiful engagement ring. Singlestone.com is a jeweler wh...

Re: Cushion Earrings

I like the one with the round bezels on the outside better than the other. I think that would be a lot different from the pair you currently have. Re: New earrings coming tomorrow!

Oh, I thought you realized they were tiny huggies. Some people hang earring charms off of that size. It says 14.9mm diameter. The diameter of the .65 ct 5 stone hoops is only 16mm, so I am not at all sure you'll notice much difference aside from the diamonds being larger. Here are a couple of pictur...

Re: Newbie - help with emerald cut

Personally, I'm a fan of the G (2nd) from the video and the aset. Here is a thread from a long time ago which references a lot of ...

Re: AGS ASET from certificate = no good?

Guess what? With idealscope images like that, you do not need an ASET at all. Idealscope images are generally sufficient for round brilliant stones. I rely on that more than the image on the AGS report.

Re: Should I worry about the crystal in the VS1 diamond? Ple

VS1 stones are eyeclean. You probably cannot see that crystal with a 10x loupe. VS1 stones are extremely clean. You will not see that inclusion unless you are in the habit of using a microscope to view your jewelry.
