Re: Poll: how often do you clean out your car?

I said every few months, but that is when my husband does it! Never would be the correct answer for me, personally! But we don't have little kids anymore, so the car doesn't get as dirty as it used to!

Re: Endearing, but fiance a bit over-animated about ring.

I would also be very uncomfortable with that. I certainly never showed anyone besides family my engagement ring unless they asked. I think it is great if he is excited to be engaged and tells people how happy he is to marry YOU, but the ring should not come up unless someone asks to see it. As far a...

Re: Thoughts please on my antique pear

Oh diamondseeker! Everytime a see a CvB piece I love it! My only hesitation with shipping across the country is how difficult it would be to find a stone like this again. Not saying' I won't suck it up though and send it off.... May I ask - why do you prefer a halo to a bezel? GIA did grade the sto...

Re: What setting will make a 0.5 to 0.6 Cart round look bigg

How about something like sapphire side stones? A solitaire round diamond is going to look like an engagement ring.

Re: Multi Row Pave band vs single row band with Halo? Help!!

Definitely single row. I have heard of three sided pave shanks going out of round. You still have to baby any pave ring, but I would not do 3 sided unless she is going to baby the ring AND not wear a wedding band next to it. Better to have metal against metal (if wearing two rings).

Re: Thoughts please on my antique pear

Often single cuts are used in antique style settings to complement the antique stone. But that is personal preference...some use full cut melee.

Re: Thoughts please on my antique pear

That is a beautiful stone! A bezel is great if that is your preference, but that girdle doesn't look extremely thin, so it wouldn't likely be necessary to protect the stone. Here is one of my favorite antique pear rings: http://loupetroop.com/listings/rings-natural-diamond-center/antique-pear-diamon...

Re: Tiffany Style Ring

And my advice is that it is worth getting a quality setting such as WF or BG. Cheapest really shouldn't be the highest priority in an engagement ring if you are sacrificing quality.

Re: Tiffany Style Ring

I really like that one from union diamonds. It is too bad that it isn't in 18k yellow gold... :/ And the one form b2c doesn't appear to have the knife edge but I found another in yellow gold with a knife edge for $575. The head looks a bit weird though... Any insight to what this ring actually look...

Re: Tiffany v. Whiteflash--any advice appreciated.

He can get any ring he buys polished, sized, or cleaned at any reputable local jeweler. Tiffany does not size at the local store, either. They send them all to NY which still means some wait time. For the record, I like a lot of Tiffany jewelry and I have several pieces including the Legacy wedding ...

Re: Eye-clean?

You have to ask someone who is physically holding the stone in their hand if it is eyeclean. We cannot tell you from a magnified picture. However, I will say from my personal viewpoint that I prefer a stone that is cleaner than this one.

Re: Tiffany v. Whiteflash--any advice appreciated.

A WhiteFlash diamond likely will be better quality than a Tiffany diamond if you went with an ACA. But even with Expert Selection, you'll be equal in quality and can get a larger stone. This is their Tiffany repro setting: http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/classic-tiffany-style-kn...

Re: Tacori setting!

I don't see that price being so bad for Tacori at all. If you want an antique style setting, look at Beverley K as well. Some of theirs are more reasonable and Pearlman's and Good Old Gold both carry that line. I think the Tacori is very nice if that is the one you love the most. My plain Vatche pla...

Re: Best way to insure to wedding jewelry??

I'd check diamond prices every 3-5 years and see how they compare to your individually purchased lab graded diamonds. You can do that very easily here on the Diamond Search or go to a vendor site such as James Allen or Blue Nile that list thousands of diamonds. If I see diamond prices maybe 20% abov...

Re: Did you get your stone/ring appraised..

Nope for me, too. Bought lab graded stones from GOG and WF and had zero need for other opinions. Used sales receipts and lab reports for insurance. If they hadn't taken that, I would have used their in-house insurance appraisal.

Re: HELPPPP me make a decision on this 1.81ct round stone

It looks like a gorgeous stone! Color is very personal. I have had F-I color diamonds and I can see the difference, but it doesn't bother me. G-H would probably be my sweet spot, but my current diamond is I color because that was the highest color they had in the size range I wanted. VVS is certainl...

I think the diamond quality will be superior at WhiteFlash and Brian Gavin. I have had a few things from WF and their diamonds are top notch.

Re: Brian Gavin Blue = Signature w/ Fluorescence?

The last I looked, they did not provide hearts images on the blues, therefore not guaranteeing that a BG Blue is H&A...has that changed? I also would not hesitate with most of the BGB stones I have seen as I like fluorescence!
