Re: Saturday at the Nationak Zoo in Washington DC

Ohhh, my daughter and I took her little ones to our nearest nice zoo just earlier this month! A lot of my pics have them in it, so I just have a few I can post. We once went to the San Diego Zoo to see the pandas!

Re: The "Rich Friend"

I was going to say the same about not needing friends like that! Aside from rude comments, expecting you to pay for them is absurd. I have close friends who have much more and much less money than we do. I never mention jewelry or any other kind of purchase to them (other than PS friends!). They hav...

Re: Do you like buying your own bling?

When we were first dating and married, my DH felt that jewelry was a waste of money. (Even so, he still bought me the occasional piece because he knew I liked it.) He was worth it in other ways, though. We've been married for 16 years now, and his understanding of my love of bling has ev...

Re: Update - what I've been up to

Phoenix, I like a stone that size as a solitaire myself, but if you love milgrain, engraving, etc,. you may want to look at CVB Inspired Design. Caysie has designed some gorgeous halos! You can reach her from her FB page, CVB Inspired Design. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/show-us-...

Re: Stone Advice (60/60, specs look out of range, but HCA =

Yes, we'd need a magnified image of the stone and an idealscope image, if possible. Never buy a diamond blind. The HCA is just a screening tool.

Re: Likelihood of finding a 'signature' super ideal diamond?

I think you mean you want a near H&A and not a near ideal cut, right? But my answer is that I have definitely seen a few AGS Ideal cuts that I would never buy. This is why actual vendor images are so important. As I may have said earlier in this thread, while my personal preference is for superi...

Re: Wedding band by David Klass

I love that style ring! My only advice would be to do more than 3/4. I'd maybe just leave one marquise section all metal if David says that is enough space for sizing. If not, then one marquise and a round on each side. Eternities do turn so I'd prefer stones to be all the way around with a minimal ...

Re: Held me choose: WF or GOG

I can't speak for GOG but WF has fantastic diamonds. Having said that, WF's custom setting was a total failure for me. I ordered the Annette U-Prong eternity and what resulted was a disaster (see link: http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/my-annette-u-prong-20-pt-3-6tcw-from-wf-looks-ba...

Re: Ever have non-materialistic week?

I have never been much of a "collector". I don't like the feel of necklaces and bracelets and never wear them, so I only have my 3 rings and diamond studs with jackets. The rings are all heirloom quality (to me at least) and I'm pretty much done. The only other thing I might want is a pai...

HI: I get what you are saying and understand how you feel. I have been downsizing my jewellery box for some time--and I sill have many items I would like to sell. The latest cull was my diamond engagement ring--I sold it in a moment without an ounce of regret. I enjoyed every sparkly moment as I wo...

Re: Held me choose: WF or GOG

Re: Need e-ring help and advice.

I would say to stick to a solitaire that does not set the stone too high. However, she needs to know some basics about caring for a valuable piece of fine jewelry so that she doesn't damage the ring. It is best to just take the ring off when you get home from work if you are going to be doing things...

Re: Did superbcert change names?

Here are a couple of the Vatche U-113: Do you know how large of a diamond this is? The first picture had a 7.5mm stone. I don't know about the second. But to answer your question, they set the stones medium height. It doesn't look like the jeweler did a great job with your prongs. It's not so much ...

Numbers are fine. As tyty said, we like to see pictures and an ideascope image if possible. It isn't a great idea to buy a diamond blind.

Re: 2 carat center stone too big on size 2.5 finger?

All that really matters is what YOU like! However, you are leaving some corners vulnerable to be knocked on things if you kite set the stone and put the prongs on the middle of the long sides. I can think in the 9 years I have been here that I have seen anyone set one like that. I have however seen ...

Re: G vs H cushion for the color conscious

I am not sure anyone else can answer that for you, but I would personally be fine with H. You are going to have a different look from melee to a larger stone anyway, so I do not believe that difference would bother me at all. I color usually faces up quite white, but I usually can see some tint in a...

Re: Question on getting ring insurance

Best to keep it separate from homeowners in case you ever have to make a claim. You wouldn't want your homeowner's premium to go up because of that. I would see if JM will accept your sales receipt if it gives details of what you purchased and attach a copy of the diamond grading report to that. If ...

Re: Please help me to make final decision on 2ct.

VVS2 is extremely clean. You will not see the inclusions of you look at the stone with a 10x loupe. VS1 is extremely clean as well. You definitely don't need to worry about the inclusion plot on a VVS2.

Re: Did superbcert change names?

That is not a problem once a wedding band is worn with the ring as long as the height of the wedding band is the same as the height of the e-ring shank. Is that the reason you are wanting to change it? Because I think that problem will be solved once she can wear a wedding band. My Vatche does have ...

Re: Upgrading from 1.713 Carat I color

What size is the current diamond? You might be able to get a little more for it selling it yourself on loupe troop if it has a diamond size that is fairly common. But I wouldn't count on getting a lot. I am just going to say my last comment in that the I color stone appears to be cleaner clarity-wis...

Re: How do PS'ers upgrade their diamonds?

I think you are far better off selling it and starting over. You will lose a little maybe, but you won't overpay on the new diamond. Then if you go with one of the vendors with lifetime, no minimum upgrade, you won't be stuck if you change your mind later and want to trade-in again! I order to post ...

Re: What do people think of this Diamond?

Neither one would be classified as H&A by our vendors that specialize in selling them, but they certainly may both be beautiful stones! I am just not sure about those first two images and whether they are from a hearts and arrows viewer or what. I don't think it is an idealscope image. The secon...

Re: Advice on engagement ring

Just so you know, both Good Old Gold and Whiteflash offer the full Vatche line, so either can get you the Charis. GOG only puts a fraction of their setting options online. Same with WF. You will see all their brands, but they do not list every single setting the designers make. I do like the Charis ...

I'd honestly just get this one from Ritani. Their quality is good, prices are reasonable, and it sounds exactly like what you want! Note that you can change to several other metals.

Re: How do PS'ers upgrade their diamonds?

The answers will be all of the options you named! I kept my original diamond ring and got a new one and then upgraded that through the same vendor. I am ordering the one from Amazon Prime. I figure they'd pull it if they were getting massive complaints.
