Re: Show me your Luxury Watches!

Aca...those single cuts are incredible! So pretty with the MOP!

Marina...love the rose gold and chocolate dial! The 31mm is my favorite size, too!

Re: Really wanting a solitaire instead of my halo....

I think your ring is beautiful, but as you have said, I think a more delicate halo would work better and be more subtle (see Victor Canera Emilya, for one example). But well done pave halo settings are expensive. I think if you go back to a plain solitaire, you might have DSS (Diamond Shrinkage Synd...
Re: 2 ct Harry Winston-Inspired Round Cushion Halo

Beautiful! And I love your nails. Make sure to get a spacer before you wear any other bands with it :) Thank you! I'm actually planning on wearing this without a spacer because I like the look of a gap. Beautiful ring! Just a note, a spacer band is usually a plain band without diamonds, beca...

Re: My ruby project is in motion---DBTY style necklace

Ame, I happen to have an 18" DBTY necklace with 9 stones. I think 2" is too far apart. A good way to figure the distance is to have the chain in a V. You start with the center stone and then go up the sides of the chain. My stones have 1.5" of chain between them. If you space them 2&q...

Re: My ruby project is in motion---DBTY style necklace

The only change I'd make is to have a ruby in the center and then alternate the diamonds.

Re: Help me chose which halo for my 3.15 marquise!

Well, since others are saying it, I honestly do think your diamond is too big for a halo. It already reaches your knuckle. I would suggest just not wearing it at home when you are caring for your little ones. I don't wear my diamonds around the house unless I just want to look at them occasionally! ...

Re: Help me chose which halo for my 3.15 marquise!

Oh, and I would say brilliant cuts or single cuts for the halo. The halo stones need to be really small because of the size of your diamond, so tiny rose cuts just wouldn't do much, I'm afraid. The ring I just posted uses single cuts in the outer diamond halo. I think my vote would be for number 1 a...

Re: Help me chose which halo for my 3.15 marquise!

Your diamond is gorgeous, and it is going to be really huge in a halo! Have you seen drk14's marquise halo ring made by Caysie van Bebber of CVB Inspired Design? It is an incredible ring! It has a 1 ct center but it has a double halo. http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/marquise-masterp...

Re: Show me some Van Craeynest!

Sorry that these pictures are not the greatest. I can't do justice to these tiny works of art! Here are some bands, 810, 811, 812, 817, 869, and the 484 band is in the second picture. They are still die struck the original way and the hand carving looks wonderful! I hope we see more Van C pieces on ...

Re: what material for men's wedding band?

Tungsten is going to hold up to scratching and dents better than almost anything else. My son-in-law got his at Tungsten World online. Some people may want one out of a precious metal and then have the tungsten one for wearing at certain times. That is also a good option.

Re: my JA oval fell through:(

J is likely to show color concentration in areas. I would not go lower than I color in an oval. You really need to adjust the budget or go smaller with your stone. A higher color appears whiter/brighter, and that is pretty important in a stone like an oval that is less brilliant than some others.

Re: 3 stone diamond e-ring on rose gold setting

Just a couple of thoughts. The finger is round and the sides stones should be slightly angled to go along with the curve of the finger. You certainly see all three stones when you look down at the ring. I vastly prefer the diamonds to be set in platinum or white gold and then the shank in rose gold....

Re: Comparison between 2.55 and 2.59 round stones

Diamonds often look different in different lighting, and even ideal cuts might appear dark in certain spot lighting. But the VS2 looks pretty good other than its pavilion angle is 41.4, and we generally want to see a pavilion angle of no higher than 41.0 with a crown angle of 34. It may have some le...

Re: Best at-home hair color kits?

I normally have my hairdresser do it (I only use non-permanent to cover gray), but when I need to do it myself, I use Clairol Natural Instincts because it is gentle on the hair. It doesn't last really long, maybe a couple of weeks at the roots, but that is mainly because of my hair growing out, and ...
