Re: Ritani vs Leon Mege

I like a lot of Ritani rings, but that is not one of them. I think the design of the head is not great. I like these two better than that one. https://www.ritani.com/engagement-rings/solitaire-micropave-braided-diamond-band-engagement-ring-in-platinum/4998 https://www.ritani.com/engagement-rings/fre...

Re: Did I pay a fair price? Green diamond ?

I will speak to her about it for sure. It is a vivid green (not sure if that matters) ... ugh! How many times do you see someone writing that they wish they had of found pricescope earlier!? We sadly see it often. I wish everyone came here first! I agree, though. If this person is your family frien...

Re: Vote on a Setting!

Neither. Both of those rings are too thin in the shank. Look for a minimum of 1.8mm which is still VERY thin, but honestly, on a size 8 finger, I think you need at least 2mm (which is also really thin). Those super thin ones can very likely go out of round because they are weakened by the holes in t...

Re: My new custom halo ring by DK -- question though

If you are talking about the inside (bottom) edges that touch your finger, ask DK if he can soften those edges for you. Your ring is beautiful!

The clarity looks a little scary. Can you post the inclusion plot or give us a link to the GIA report? The diamond looks good from the IS image if you like those proportions.

Re: 2.32ct emerald cut gia cert attached - HELP

I just don't think I could do SI in an emerald cut. I can see what are probably crystals, and I believe they would be visible at times. Even some VS2s won't be totally clean. Other than that, it is hard to tell about the cut. I really like to have an ASET image on any fancy cut diamond to show light...

Re: Is this 'the one'? ASET included

I will have to agree. Trying to find a great modern cushion can be like finding a needle in a haystack if you shop at a vendor with mostly virtual listings. I would look at GOG and contact them and ask if their sources have any other possibilities.

Re: Feeling Down About Past Jewelry Purchases re. Enhancemen

Jambalya, I can certainly understand why you'd be frustrated with deceptive advertising or non-disclosure of stones being unnatural. I just wanted to say that your older amethyst and blue topaz pieces are probably not fake because the natural ones are relatively inexpensive and plentiful and there i...

Re: OEC experts: what should my budget be for an 8mm stone?

That center stone wouldn't be 8mm, but many people here have bought from ebay. It just takes some knowledge and a return policy to make it less risky.

Erica of Love Affair Diamonds and Grace of Jewels by Grace get stones in frequently. Watch their sites and facebook pages.

Re: 1.2 CT Round / H / VVS2 / Ideal

If I purchase it, am I able to get those sort of images taken? Will they have a large impact on "performance" if it does not grade well? Okay, let me make sure I understand. You are going with the James Allen setting and will look there for the diamond? If so, you can select 3 diamonds to...

Re: Please give me some opinion about this diamond

Wouldn't consider it without an idealscope or ASET image especially with those angles (which result in an HCA score above 2). Very possibly could have leakage. It also has significant inclusions and I would be afraid it would diminish light return. I personally wouldn't consider it. It will be chall...

That is good news! I think it is a lovely setting and still will be thin and delicate on her small finger!

When you look at diamonds, post them on a new thread before you buy!

Re: Please give me your thoughts on which of these diamonds

I really like Ritani settings and think that will make a beautiful ring! I'd suggest going with Platinum, and if that is not possible, I would go with 18k white gold. I wouldn't consider palladium because it is a less valuable metal and not all jewelers can even size a ring made out of it. I don't c...

Re: OEC experts: what should my budget be for an 8mm stone?

Take a look at Old World Diamonds to get a range of pricing. Looks like maybe $10-15k depending on specs since you'd be looking at about 2 cts to get 8mm in an OEC.

Re: Best type of wedding band to go with a large 3 stone eri

I think a plain 2-2.5mm band or a pave band that size would be fine. I'd never put a large diamond band with a large 3 stone ring. The 5 stone bands with 30-40 pointers are stand-alone rings. They would sit too high to wear with an e-ring anyway (the sides of the diamonds would eat into the prongs o...

Re: Sister-in-law's Destination Wedding: How Much Is Too Muc

Tuffy, please update us on what transpires with this situation. I would think guests would have to pay deposits months in advance, so SIL will find out the reality of the numbers long before May, right? If she was only going to invite around 25, I do think she'll be disappointed with the turnout.

Re: Update and Leon question

Pretty sure Leon's and BE's antique style cushions are from the same source. I have been told that before. Re: Re-sizing Costco ring from 7 to 3.5

Re: 1.2 CT Round / H / VVS2 / Ideal

I assume you have that stone on hold. But I still can't figure out why the price is so low because the other 1.2 H VVS2's start at $6950 (one with med blue fl) and the rest are over $7000.
