Re: The Forum Engagement Ring Folder/Eye Candy

Looking for a ring for my very special lady. I like this design, anyone have a link to something similar? We liked the appearance of the 3 stone rings and I think this gives a similar appearance but would allow me to purchase a larger center diamond. Regarding the 3 stone rings, I saw some with 0.5...

Re: Advice needed on baguette diamonds

Asschers/carre or horizontal baguettes in a channel. I would not leave the edges of the stones exposed. This is pretty fabulous: https://www.etsy.com/listing/207194551/french-cut-diamond-platinum-stacker-band?ref=shop_home_active_2 or this in platinum https://www.etsy.com/listing/198612532/18k-yello...

Re: Please help, is this Zales engagement ring a good buy???

Yes of course OP has to decide but we can still give opinions, sometimes they may come out somewhat subjective but we are only human. BTW, I have also made a halo for an L stone and it came out quite nice but as I said above, not in the post you referenced diamondseeker, and agreed with others, OP ...

Re: The art of making a duplicate ring...

I would not try to reuse a head if you have a new ring made. I would even encourage you to do some looking because you never know if there is something out there that you'd like better. I do think there is reason to have concern about the way those side diamonds are set and the possibility of repeat...

I love the Legato sleekline! I hope you got the 1.68 I? It will definitely appear larger than the princess.

Re: Please help, is this Zales engagement ring a good buy???

I too think that a cushion would be a great option if she liked them. Hmm, yes I see that the GOG is over budget, maybe they would consider offers or perhaps they could recommend a similar option, I just think that the cut and color of the centerstone are well worth the premium. My family member ju...

Re: Please help, is this Zales engagement ring a good buy???

I just don't think that a K color stone is going to look a lot whiter because of fluorescence because one isn't in UV lighting all that much, and a K princess in a halo is going to show the tint. Plus, to be honest, that last stone posted has black globs in it.

Re: Please help, is this Zales engagement ring a good buy???

I like the band from good old gold. But their diamonds are a lot more than James Allen. Is there any way I can buy the band from one place and Diamond from another? Also what other good sites are there to find diamonds at a good price? Their diamonds are not a lot more than other vendors when you c...

Re: Please help, is this Zales engagement ring a good buy???

A K colored princess cut is going to appear yellowish next to a halo. I recently helped my son-in-law's brother get a similar ring and the princess cut stone was I color. That is honestly as low as I would go in a princess cut. I think this is the setting he chose (because it is what she wanted, als...

Re: Need some help.

Me, too, because they just may stock that standard size and try to put a wide range of diamonds in them, whereas if you go through a jeweler and have them order from Scott Kay for your size stone, they should have a different head for a .75 and a 1.25, let's hope! At least that is true of most desig...

Re: Need some help.

Okay, they are selling out their supply of that setting, obviously. It may have a standard 1 ct head judging from the range they say will fit, and if so, you are going to need to get as close to 1 ct as possible for the ring to look right. I think you will be looking at more than $3k for a center st...

Re: Help! Double Duty Earrings

I can't think of anything better than studs for the purposes you mentioned. I'd honestly buy the largest you can in your budget and get the least expensive settings from somewhere like WhiteFlash and then you can upgrade later as you are able.

Re: Tiffany ring questions: want to maximize face up size

So you are in your exchange period? These are the parameters I use and they generally fall into the ideal cut range: table: 54-58 depth: 60-62 (up to 62.3 but in your case, stick with 62 or less) crown angle: 34-35.0 pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0 You can go on a site such as WhiteFlash.com and look at t...

Just send them to ID Jewelry tomorrow. I know they carry a lot of stock settings and probably can order the head and get it in quickly. You don't have time to do anything else.

Re: HELP PLEASE with AGS000 Report

Definitely not worth upgrading from a 1.1 ct stone to this one. You need to be at or above 7mm to really see a difference and make the upgrade process worth it.

Re: Help finding this Varna band or a lookalike?

My Tiffany Legacy band looks very much like that, but there are many sources of bands in that style (beadset diamonds with milgrain edge). Beverley K has several and any can be made in platinum. Victor Canera could make you a beautiful handforged one. http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designe...

Singlestone is mega-expensive, but if you see ideas of settings you like, I'd highly recommend Caysie van Bebber. You can see some of her gorgeous work here:

Re: Buying Advice on Forevermark vs GIA Diamond

It definitely would not be prudent to pay a similar amount for a D SI2 as a D VS1. As you look at vendors who specialize in well cut stones such as Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash, please consider F-G color which face up white and will allow you more size. I'd focus on VS2 to eyeclean SI1 to get the mo...

This is so ironic that I stumbled onto this thread. Re: LONG, SOOOOO upset ...need REAL jewelers opinion PIC HEA

When a mistake is made the first time, I might give someone a second chance (but usually I take it as a sign that they can't do it right). But if it comes out wrong the second time, I'd get my money back and start over elsewhere (because then I am certain they cannot do it right). Seriously, you are...
