Re: Need opinions ASAP!

It's on the edge of being slightly risky with a 34 crown angle and 40.6 pavilion angle since measurements are rounded. I'd want the idealscope image. The image of the diamond itself looks pretty good, though.

Re: opinions wanted on diamond specs..

That stone is pretty far out of my comfort range. GIA Ex is a very broad range and you want to try to get one of the better cut ones. This stone is a 60-60 stone which is okay if you like the larger table, but I would not buy a stone with a larger table and a low crown angle. They are just kind of f...

Re: Opinion on these diamonds just under 1.5?

Yikes, no, I could not recommend either diamond. Both could very likely have leakage. The first one is way too deep and it has a smaller diameter because of that. It also has a crown angle that is too high. The second one has a pavilion angle of 41.4 and that definitely does not work with a 34.5 cro...

Re: Looking at 3 H&A (WF/BG), trying to find best bang for b

All of the diamonds are very fine choices. I would say that with the $25 off for registering on the Whiteflash site, I'd probably go for that one just because it is .625 and a minute bit larger than the other two...very small difference, but mentally, I'd prefer the extra weight. I have bought diamo...

Re: Help!! Can anyone tell me if this ring can be sized???

Probably better to have the ring custom made in the correct size. I wouldn't do it.

Re: 10 year high school reunion - how do I handle this?

I am relieved you decided NOT to go!!! I never went to one high school reunion and I have no regrets. My son was bullied terribly in high school and I didn't know until years later, but I would absolutely NOT advise him to go! I see it offering the possibility of far more negatives than positives.

Re: Psycho in the Family

I don't think it is safe for anyone else to report him while she and the kids are staying at the house. Even if someone else reported it, she would have to confirm it for anything to really happen. It is totally unacceptable for children to witness that, I agree with you.

Re: David Klass ring in the works! Join my journey :)

That is going to be a killer ring! :appl: I'd do it in all white gold (or platinum for me), but second choice would be white gold for the leaves and diamond band part, and then yg for the plain shank. I just think the inspiration pic is beautiful in all white metal.

Re: best place to have antique stone recut?

I think Singlestone can do some rehab. For a total recut (which it doesn't sounds like you need), I'd talk to Jonathan at GOG since he has AVR cutters.

Re: Let's talk branded pieces...Yssie, DS, and all other fan

VCA is one of my favorite jewelry houses along with Cartier and Oscar Heyman. I have a humble 2.5 mm Cartier gold band. I like the fact that it's as nice as anything Cartier makes other than its high jewelry collections. I like the fact that it's marked with a unique identification number. I like t...

Re: Help with RBCs- Tolkowsky, EightStar, HoF, Solasfera, H&

I would actually recommend Good Old Gold, as they carry or have carried all of these brands. I will say that the best value may be a hearts and arrows (AGS or GIA graded, not EGL) because some of the other brands will have a little extra brand mark-up. I now have one of their August Vintage Rounds w...

Re: Is this ring worth as much as it was in 1982. Appraisal-

With stones that size, it could easily be worth the same or less, as most appraisals are inflated anyway (but it could be more). Go get a new appraisal and ask for a realistic and uninflated value. I can tell you that a diamond I had appraised around that time is worth no more than it was stated to ...

Re: James Allen 1.5 rb J vs1 platinum decorative bridge size

I think it is beautiful, but as others have said, you are the one who has to love it! The only thing I'd probably change is to make the side diamonds larger and fit the halos. I think we are all drawn to beautiful, blingy settings, but sometimes they are not so practical for real life. You are the o...

Re: Opposition to same sex marriage ruling

The church does not control anything related to the state. People with varying viewpoints have the right to express them when voting. Church and religion tend to become one entity in these types of conversations. Dogma has made its way into government. The president is sworn in with a bible. We hav...
