Re: Distinct fluorescence

Apparently GIA is none, faint, medium, strong, very strong:

http://4csblog.gia.edu/2012/understanding-diamond-fluorescence

We would only recommend looking at GIA graded stones (with the exception of some ideal cut stones by AGS). Other labs are less reliable.

Re: How would you react to lack of gifting?

Uppy, I have also figured out that we have to train them to do what we want. Men generally do not get hints. They do need explicit instructions, and as someone else said, eventually they think it was their idea! Early on my husband tried to surprise me with clothes (nightmare) or jewelry, and I had ...

Re: Poll: Which of these two rocks?

Easy, the larger one! Those are magnified a heck of a lot more than 3.5 times, so no worries about the VS2! The overall size difference definitely will be noticeable!

Re: People thoughts on this diamond and setting

The black inclusions right in the center would be a deal breaker for me, personally. Are they telling you that it is totally eyeclean even at a close distance?

The link to the setting doesn't work for me.

Re: Any thoughts on this diamond versus waiting

May I suggest one more? I think design-wise, the Legato Sleekline is a finer setting. http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/legato-sleek-line-solitaire-engagement-ring-728.htm Unfortunately they don't have any pics with a 2 ct stone, but that is a beautiful size in that setting. Re: Saw a Crafted by Infinity diamond wow!

Yes, that's a very salient point. Perhaps I've only seen one truly H&A ideal cut stone, that happened to be the CBI. the other stones I've seen, may be ideal cut or GIA XXX, and may have visible hearts and arrows in ASET & IS, but cannot be called true H&A. Hmm, I'll have to think about...

IS= idealscope (or diamonxray) image

He is saying you need to see the video. You cannot judge it solely from the images. Knowing Jon, it is extremely unlikely he would buy an asscher for inventory that was bad.

Re: Any thoughts on this diamond versus waiting

That looks extremely clean to me, and the only advantage to waiting is if you prefer to pay more!!! That is a beautiful stone! Hope you have it on hold! Do you have to wait until August to propose?

What setting are you thinking about?

Re: Which diamond is better? Experts opinion. Thank you.

I would not assume that because you are fine with H color that you'll also be fine with J color. I can see tint in J color stones quite easily. However, I do think I color can be a good option for those who want a little more size. http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-293...

Re: Saw a Crafted by Infinity diamond wow!

Once I saw a hearts and arrows cut stone, I never had any more problem ordering those. I have ordered subsequent stones, such as for studs, then upgraded those, etc. without any particular need to see them first. All the hearts and arrows stones I have had were consistent in cut quality, so they are...

Re: Saw a Crafted by Infinity diamond wow!

I will say that I have very high regard for Infinity diamonds and Paul Slegers, and I also have very high regard for other precision cut H&A brands. I know I have owned some from both WF and GOG that are/were outstanding. GOG provided helium scans on the original stone I bought, and it was cut w...

Re: Jenny McCarthy new ering!

Gosh, I think the setting is killer! It has side baguettes in that halo...can't think of a better colored stone setting! No way to tell much about the sapphire since we don't have a close up view or know if it is clean or not. I think a yellow diamond would have been better for an e-ring, though.

Re: Gypsy? & other experts? flirting with Asschers & about 2

That stone has a killer ASET and IS image. I'll withhold final judgement until I see the video. But I am betting on it being great, aside from the color issue.

I feel like I am always watching for the next piece of jewelry, whatever that may be! Re: would you reconsider an engagement

Two people with financial problems is not the best match, in my opinion. It will just be compounded once married. But there seem to be women out there who just want to be married without really thinking through the financial implications.

Re: Teachers can still beat students in 19 states

If you beat a student in the public schools in my "red" (on your map) state, you would be arrested for assault, fired, and that would be the end of it.

Most school systems would be too afraid of lawsuits to actually allow corporal punishment even if it was technically legal.

Re: POLL: This band or a different one? Which goes best wit

Your thinner platinum band is absolutely FINE!!! I know we all want an excuse to buy another band, but you don't need one unless you just want some variety.

Beverley K makes many different bands with various shape bezels. They can be ordered in platinum.
