Re: Your Brian Gavin and WF ACAs pls!

You are very welcome! I have been extremely pleased with my ACA diamond studs. I started with smaller stones and have upgraded them a couple of times! And yes, M2b's ring is incredible and huge!

Re: Just bought the engagement ring! Hello from Malaysia!

Welcome to PS! :wavey: It looks like a beautiful ring, but we normally advise against very high settings like this due to the increased possibility of hitting the ring on things and maybe chipping or cracking it or even loosening prongs causing the stone to fall out. I generallt recommend a medium s...
Re: Engaged!! 3.86ct Leon Mege Solitaire!

Lovely ring!!! (Just so you know, in regard to wedding bands, there have been people here who had problems with his very thin shanks especially with pave (they can bend to an oval shape or lose stones). Most of the high end ringmakers recommend 1.8-2mm minimum for a pave wedding band or e-ring shank.)

Re: Your Brian Gavin and WF ACAs pls!

Many PSers have I color diamonds from these vendors. I have had H color ACA stones from Whiteflash but not I color. I think H is my personal favorite color for balancing size and color. M2B's diamond comes to mind as an ACA that is I color but it is quite large! http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-...

Re: 20th Anniversary Project...Suggestions/Opinions Needed!

A poorly cut cushion is likely to have issues such as being too deep and facing up small, having poor light return due to the cut, etc. I'd certainly rather see you sacrifice color over cut. Basically with lower color you lose some brightness which makes cut even more important. Here is a picture wi...

Re: Deciding Between Diamonds

Crown angle too high means there could be leakage. It is not a stone I would consider without an ASET image. I looked at several stones on another site with those angles and most had some leakage. If I am spending that much money, I want a stone that is extremely well cut. No reason to settle for le...

I am not sure if you want extra input other than what you have asked, but this is what I look for (or close to it) in an ideal cut diamond.

Re: What do you all think of this stone.

I would still want to compare them. I think they both have potential. Did you get a quote from Victor Canera? Because the SK quote was too high. No I didn't. But I think I'm gonna go with SK his personality is great and I like the level of service I'm getting. Yeah I'm gonna see if I can get the ot...

Re: What width do you prefer for a rhr band?

I agree, 4-5mm for a standalone band. I can't wear really wide ones because my lower finger is shorter than the upper part, unfortunately.

6mm is absolutely awful for a 1.3 ct stone, but the ASET design is pretty!

Me, too. At least 34 on the crown angle for the second stone. The first one has good numbers.

Re: Seeking a little help on engagement ring....thanks!

My personal feeling from looking at BE in the past is that their prices are higher than some other places. My advice is to go in with the resolve NOT to buy tomorrow. I would not buy anything other than GIA (or AGS which is not as common) graded diamond. Stick with GIA Excellent cut only. These are ...

Re: Deciding Between Diamonds

I couldn't help myself and also reserved the other one... so hard to decide...! Did you ask James Allen for an idealscope or ASET image? Because I wouldn't consider buying a diamond with those numbers without it, since many with those numbers do have leakage. I suspect it may just looking at the ce...

I know! It really will be such fun! The 3.5 J does not have the eyeclean symbol, and I think that's probably why she wants me to look at it. I really, really wish it would be clean enough!

Re: 20th Anniversary Project...Suggestions/Opinions Needed!

A 1 ct cushion is just not going to have the size you need, in my opinion. I'd stick with 1.2-1.5, but the diameter measurements are still what you watch. I don't like a huge table so I do look at that, though. GOG will call in other cushions for you if you are interested in buying from them. They d...

Re: Let's talk branded pieces...Yssie, DS, and all other fan

Keep looking and wait for a larger and higher color Diamond. Be prepared to shell out more money. Does not sound like you are completely thrilled with this Diamond, as you are already thinking about next upgrade now. I agree with you that there is not much of a visual size difference. Do not settle...
