Re: Pricescope sell your diamond

I suspect that regulars here know that selling ideal cut diamonds will yield more money by consigning. I have seen many diamonds and diamond rings sold by JBEG/Grace and Good Old Gold. I sold one though consignment making a profit (because diamond was bought pre-2011) and one on pre-loved here with ...

Re: Which of these two for a Halo setting I vs G (pics)

Also please post their dimensions. You don't really compare cushions based on carat weight you do it via the dimensions. He has the dimensions in the original post. The .92 is ever so slightly larger than the one on the left. Plus it is cut to ideal light performance. I don't think he can beat this...

Re: Which of these two for a Halo setting I vs G (pics)

I really like the diamond on the right a lot, too. It is definitely one of my favorite modern cushions and cut by a master cutter as well. I do think that one would go better in the BK cushion halo setting than the stone on the left. Yikes, you apparently don't have that diamond on hold and it is th...

Re: Which of these two for a Halo setting I vs G (pics)

I like the shape of the first two better than the one you have on hold at JA. I like the diamond on the right better of those. What is your budget? I really like their antique style cuts best for a Beverley K setting. http://www.brilliantlyengaged.com/1.15-carat-f-vs2-royal-chandelier-cushion-brilli...

Re: Thoughts on this Tiffany stone?

I like Tiffany jewelry and would be fine with a ring from there if it was at a discount (second hand) and the diamonds were well cut. They have nice diamonds but generally they are not super ideal cut like we see our vendors here carry. I also have a Tiffany wedding band, but I chose a superideal cu...

Re: GIA VS2 1.21ct F - help required please!

I think it has potential but the HCA does grade it as very good for light return and scintillation rather than excellent. So I could not buy this (or any) stone without at least an idealscope image and a magnified image of the stone itself.

Exactly. I'd rather have I or J color and VS2-Si1 clarity in whatever size stone fits the budget.

Re: Opinion on this 1.1 carat "champagne" diamond

Okay, that is awesome that you have seen the stone and it is lighter in person!!!

I love the idea of the white metal shank and the rose gold head, personally! I am just not sure a plain white metal setting would do justice to your stone.

What is your budget? The first one is okay and I do not like the second one. You can do better. Re: Opinion on this 1.1 carat "champagne" diamond

I am just going to mention that the diamond in that rose gold ring of the week was W-X color and not as dark as the stone I think you are looking at. I consider that one more champagne and yours more brown with yellow. Is that was she is wanting? Honestly, I think this stone is going to look better ...

Re: Advice on WF or GOG Ring ~1.5c

Both of the GOG stones are H&A top cut quality so their performance would be similar. It's just the size difference that will be noticeable, in my opinion.

Re: New project - three stone cushion with colored sides (PO

Since you want rose gold I would go for the champaign stones. If yellow gold I would have preferred the lemon stones. This is pretty much my thinking, but you'll have to be sure the color is intense enough to be a contrast to the center stone. Definitely modern cut sides with a modern cushion cente...

Re: Advice on WF or GOG Ring ~1.5c

All my diamonds have come from GOG and WF, and I have high regard for both! I wasn't going to comment, but I will say that of the GOG stones, I'd far rather have the 1.5 F stone over the smaller one, and I prefer the ACA over the ES from WF. The ES is a step below the other three in cut quality, in ...

Re: Would you rather a 1ct RBC or a .79ct AVR?

I would still use GOG if you want an old cut. He can access the same suppliers of antique stones that the others can, and he provides more info on the cut/leakage, etc. You would be hard pressed to find an antique stone with the light performance of an AVR, but certainly if you search hard (or rathe...

Re: Diamond studs- please help me choose!

Any pairs of ACAs are going to be GREAT! You do not have to worry one bit about that! The two pair probably will appear identical. But you do not use HCA with AGS Ideal cut stones because they have been graded to have ideal light performance. All I can tell you is that I would choose the other pair ...

I can't really think of many examples of this, but I guess a Cartier Trinity ring could qualify. I considered buying one in NYC, but I just didn't pull the trigger. Re: ASET Image Review Understanding on 3 stones.

I see a difference in photography between the first two and the last one, but they all have good ASETs for princess cuts. Are they all ACA princess cuts? If so, they should all be outstanding. Re: Would you rather a 1ct RBC or a .79ct AVR?

Naturally I voted AVR. I can handle lower color in an antique cut than I can a modern cut. Somehow a tint just looks more fitting to me in an old cut. Plus the AVR has better clarity. I love BK settings, especially the first one. I am sure you know that GOG carries BK. Those halos with airlines will...
