Re: Help me find this ring, other than Tiffany's

Just to toss out, Diamonds by Lauren makes a very similar setting to that one as well. It has the nice "tubular" shank to it. They haven't done it in a colorless diamond that I've seen but I am sure they could. Right now they have a variety of yellow and brown diamonds set in 18K YG and so...

Re: Question about Yellow Diamonds?

As a fan of colored diamonds I do have my limits on cut. I refuse to buy a diamond with only Fair symmetry. I try for VG if you can but G works well for me. Polish is always G or above. There is virtually no difference with that. Color is #1 for me with a good cut very very close behind. Polish is l...

Re: Did you Insure your ring?

My yellow diamond ring is insured as is a pair of my diamond hoops. I usually have a thing where if they are valued at about $1000 or more I insure them. That's kind of my comfort zone. Much less than that and I can usually easily replace w/o worry. I'm resetting my yellow diamond and am getting ano...

Re: Setting width for small hands - Is this too bulky?

My ring size is about the same (I measure at 4.25 but due to hand damage I prefer to wear them a bit more loose) and I wouldn't say that 3mm is too wide at all. Even if she did wear a matching 3mm band. I used to wear a matched set that was 6mm thick combined. Now I am in the process of resetting my...

Re: Weight Loss and Ring Size

I weigh about the same as I did in high school and my ring size is about 1.5 sizes smaller than it was then. When I gained a bunch of weight my finger size didn't go up. It didn't go down until a few years after I lost the weight I gained. So for me there is no direct correlation with weight and siz...

Re: How is platinum "sized"?

tyty333|1302350066|2891832 wrote:It also cost quite a bit more to size plat then gold (atleast where I live). My last resize was $100 for a 1.5mm plat ring.

I don't think that sounds bad considering it cost me $75 to resize gold. Tapered band below 2mm and one size smaller.

Re: How is platinum "sized"?

no, you can size platinum. i believe tungsten rings cannot be sized. Titanium and Stainless Steel are difficult if not impossible to size as well. Just to agree with the quoted post, I've had a platinum ring sized quite a few times. Not difficult to do as long as the design allows for it (not etern...

Re: Buyers remorse or just cold feet?

I think you need to pick which one you like, not which ones we like :) I personally dislike beadset as I find them to be too busy compared. I also don't like integrated head look but I also go for flush fit rings. Both are decent companies but you have to pick which you like best! ETA: Of course I o...

Re: Did you also insure your wedding ring or just your e-rin

We didn't insure our wedding bands. Neither was expensive enough to put it on our insurance. My thoughts are that if I could easily pay out of pocket for them, I don't bother insuring. At this point it wouldn't be worth it at all since I'd need an appraisal or something like that. Not worth it for w...

Re: Correlation between Shoe Size & Ring-Finger Size...

Shoe size 7-7.5 Ring size 4.25 Same here Husband's shoe and ring size are both the same (I can't recall if they are 13 or 14 though) I actually know very little female friends who have ring and shoe sizes the same. I once asked after I heard that and only one had the same (7.5 for both). Most have ...

Re: Help with educated guess for ring size

Really? How interesting. It holds true for me, everyone else here at work and I've started asking our clients and it seems to hold true for the most part! I find it true for men more than women. I asked others about it as well when I first heard that. Like I said for me my shoe size is about a 7-7....

Re: Help with educated guess for ring size

If it is her middle finger I'd go with 4.25 just to be safe. Again I would go larger than smaller IMO. Who would love to get a ring and then not be able to wear it... just in case! I personally can't find rings under 6 locally. People always say how luck I am to have small hands, but the bad thing i...

Re: Help with educated guess for ring size

I would go with 4.5 honestly. Just to be on the safe side. I'd rather the ring be a bit big than a bit small. She's probably around a 4 based off of how my "kid sized hands" work, but I would err on the side of caution with this. I'm 5' tall and a size 2 (give or take) thanks to my big old...

I totally understand. I tried on the FIY types and decided I liked more like FLY on me best for some reason. Not that one is better or worse obviously.

Good luck with your search :)

Re: New here - help with yellow diamonds?

I realized my mistake yesterday... I somehow read FIY not FVY for the stones. So sorry for listing FIY stones.... One serious suggestion is to also look at "strong" colored FIY though. Sometimes those can be nearly vivid in color. The eye can't see the difference but the pocket book...

Re: are you guilty of pushing your preferences...

I think it is okay to point out other options that might allow for a cheaper price. But it has to be done right. Saying "why in the world do you want an IF stone?" and leave it at that is wrong. Saying "Have you thought of VS1 stones? They look just as clean as the IF but will cost yo...

Hey there :) It's uinfortunate (well not to a diamond vendor!) that you are looking into "vivid" cause I was about to suggest that you look in the W to Z range to get your hands on amazing yellow diamonds without paying the steep premium for the fancy classification. I have a W to X color...

Re: My new RHR!! Double Halo Yellow Diamond Ring!!

I've been checking off and on for this one today. OMG, it is stunning!!!! I went to my local Tiffany store this past weekend and saw the ring that inspired it. Re: Dimension on multiple piercing

I have 5 holes in each ear and only the top 3 are studs (hoops in the others) so they are much smaller. But they are .04ct .08ct and .10ct each currently. I think I'd like the .10ct to be .12ct, but they still look good for now. I think Oldminer's suggestion sounds really good IMO.

Re: Where to source a light cognac diamond?

I checked out these two sites. Diamonds by Lauren is appealing because it is in NY, as opposed to Israel, but the prices seem high. Re: Pros . . . what is "even" color distribution?

My initial thought was that the uneven "look" had to do with the clarity grade and not the color distribution. I do know that tips of some cuts will look uneven (like your pear) in spite of them really being even. I admit that is something I do pay attention to with colored diamonds. I don...

I like the color of the radiant better actually. I see a difference and I would be drawn to that one.... except the cut looks pretty bad. I looked at the symmetry and sure enough "Fair" I wouldn't be shocked if that has something to do with the price too. But obviously not all of it as br...
