Re: Bad Parenting or harmless fun?

LOL, Thing & everybody else with toddler stories. You feel like it will never end but before you know it, those toddlers have kids of their own. It's easy to criticize somebody else's parenting or child, especially if you don't have kids yourself. I notice that online all the time -- the most h...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

PPM- I just wanted to chime in on the heart arrhythmia. I haven't been posting here at all, but I did see that they are referring you to a cardio, which can be very important. Did they notice any issues with the heart chambers at your anatomy scan? Aubrey didn't have any noticable heart issues durin...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Oh, and we do dabble in solids. She can sit up really well on her own now, which is what they say to look for. Some people start at 4 months, but we were not in a huge rush. So every day we give her maybe a half jar of some fruit or a veggie at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The majority of her calor...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

NEL- we recently aquired a piano, specifically for Bre. DH has 2 aunts who are very musically inclined- a choir teacher and a pianist,. The pianist bought a new baby grand, and asked if we wanted her old upright. She met Bre, saw her loooong fingers and said they are piano playing fingers if she's e...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Hey mommas- I've been following along but just not able to respond :) Nayways, wanted to throw a tip out there forwhen a wailing baby doesn't want stuff put over his/her head; or for when the baby has had a gross blow out and you don't want to get poop all over your kids head. Now, this is a foreign...

Re: Being a lawyer and a mother

I'm just going to add this. As a new parent, you have to be prepared for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. You may have everything "planned" perfectly, that you'll work thesem hours, DH will work these other hours, babysitter will be there other hours, but even the best plans will probably have wre...

Re: How do you feel about "redshirting"

Its been my experience that the kids who were older in school often got themselves into some trouble due to boredom. I think as parents, it is your responsibility to foster an enriching, stimulating environment for your children. Aubrey was born in September, and I'm not sure yet what we will do. I ...

Re: Best Petunia Picklebottom bag for a new mom? (gift)

http://www.petunia.com/collections/original/exclusives/japaneseteasashaysatchel/ I have this one, but in a different color (gray/yellow). I have a gray purse that I LOVE, so that's why I picked gray. I bought the boxy backpack first, but then felt sort of guilty for spending that much on my diaper b...

Count me among those who are quietly praying that tomorrow goes off without a hitch. It sounds like you had a lovely first day with the sweet little lady, and I look forward to hearing more about your journey getting to know your daughter. I cannot imagine the stress you're feeling now, given the pa...

Re: the show me your infant(s) thread.

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Hi ladies! Skippy let me know I needed to check in :) Aubrey is doing really well after her open heart surgery last week. They were able to completely patch the hole with no leaks, and dilate her valve to the proper size. They stitched up a few other very small holes she had as well. Feeding is much...

Re: How serious is this baby issue?

Glad the baby is hopefully on track. I think the serious issue is the misinformation from the hospital. I hope the doctor is able to make some headway there. FWIW, my daughter lost about 7 oz by day 4. She began gaining weight at that point, and is strictly breastfed. She was born with a congenital ...
