Re: Question about engagement ring setting adjustment.

Okay, good to know it's the basket, and thank you for clarifying that we'd have to remake the ring (bummer). Also, thanks for suggesting the spacer. Unfortunately, the band is already paid for and the idea of buying another band 1 - is frustrating, and 2 - isn't in the budget. I should have clarifie...

Question about engagement ring setting adjustment.

We are getting married next January and picked out/ordered our wedding bands in March (at our jeweler's trunk show - great prices). I picked a band with three rows of small stones that wasn't part of a set with my engagement ring, but was very similar. I really liked the band, and with the trunk sho...

Re: Rose Gold Edwardian Inspired Five-Stone CADs

updates? I'm super excited to see this! Hi Niel and thanks for checking in on my five stone ring project. I apologize for not responding more promptly; however, I'm presently traveling outside of the states. My ring will be available to ship sometime after June 25, as this is about the time I will ...

Re: Another newbie, can you help with opinions?

Good for you with wanting to do this, sounds like it's definitely time now for you to get the ring of your dreams! What do you plan to do with the other two diamonds, have Brian G suggest two that match? It's a very exciting project! Brian G suggested these 2 to pair with the center stone: http://m...

Re: Another newbie, can you help with opinions?

Hi BeeGeez and welcome! You might be named after my favourite singing trio! Thank you also for your very kind words about the community here, they are the best! That's a great diamond you picked, as The Seeker rightly says, it's an excellent diamond and I don't think you could go wrong with it. I c...

Another newbie, can you help with opinions?

I'm a long time lurker and have learned so much from this forum. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the posters here. I'm working on an anniversary project and found this stone - http://m.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.648-i-vs2-round-diamond-ags-c-104070408019 Based on wha...

Re: Round 2 CADs of RG Five-Stone...thoughts??

I just received the face-up view of the render! I'm happy...very pleased indeed  Caysie said that she would have her goldsmith hand carve the metal areas in between the diamonds so as to appear like tiny bows when viewed up-close, or through a loupe. The only thing that I'm really concerned ...

Round 2 CADs of RG Five-Stone...thoughts??

Amazingly fast returns on these CADs; if nothing more than gorgeously rendered is the speed with which they are modified! Quite impressed actually :appl: I have decided after much consideration to remain with my decision to utilize the ergo shank for this ring; however, Caysie did add an under galle...

Re: Rose Gold Edwardian Inspired Five-Stone CADs

Just to be clear, my request for the top view had nothing to do with the shank. It was to see how the metal looks from the top as it surrounds the diamonds (prongs, etc). And I think the transition piece looks fine. Ah, yes, I understand now; I will be getting more renders as the CADs are being mod...

Here are the photos that Caysie just texted me, these were apparently just taken at my request. She asked me to please overlook her "horrifically filthy set"; she has a wonderful sense of humor, for anyone who isn't acquainted with her, by the way!! . The middle band is an ergo shank. I s...

Re: Rose Gold Edwardian Inspired Five-Stone CADs

The squared-off shank will help keep the ring from spinning around. Since the shank sits on the sides and palm area of your finger, it won't be noticeable. There's no rule that says you can't wear a round band with a squared shank. It's a matter of personal preference. An alternative to the squared...

Re: Rose Gold Edwardian Inspired Five-Stone CADs

I think the initial CAD looks great! But add me to the list of those who would want a traditional round shank especially with an antique style ring. I just don't like modern paired with antique and it would basically force me to have her make the wedding band with the same shank . It has never cros...

I think that's a nice shank and I totally get why you are having her do it. I'd leave it. I know the tcw of the stone, but what are the sizes of the individual stones. Also, what bands will you wear with it? Thank you for your reassurance; I was becoming a little distressed at the above post. I am ...

It's gorgeous! The only thing I would ask about is the transition piece to the shank. It looks sort of funky and I'm not sure why but perhaps it is the angle of the picture. Rose Gold Edwardian Inspired Five-Stone CADs

Re: On a quest for an antique five stone diamond ring

Stuller has a stock setting that would have to be finished by a skilled jeweler, but that would at least offset the cost of trying to do a custom mounting. http://www.stuller.com/products/12436/14873/?groupId=6024 The side view of this ring is lovely, & thank you for providing the link =) As we...

I think this is a wonderful quest, regardless of whether you go custom or hunt vintage. They both have their pros and cons: custom, you get exactly what you want, and vintage ... you definitely get history and maybe a level of craftsmanship it's hard to find today and maybe a steal, since vintage t...

Re: On a quest for an antique five stone diamond ring

Have you tried on rose gold? I ask only because I know that rose gold is popular in concept for old stones, but it doesn't always work in reality. In my case, rose gold doesn't show well against my skin so pieces set in rose gold tend to "melt" into my skin. I have tried on rose gold and ...
