Re: Is this pear "the one?"

I sent you an e-mail, David. Man, it's been on of those days, weeks, actually where I feel like I just can't catch a break. But hey, it's only up from here. :) You did send me a yellow looking tweezer pic. I didn't put it in the post cause I'm lazy. It looks pretty yellow in all the pictures. If it'...

Re: Is this pear "the one?"

Oh, I forgot, this is a RHR. And I want to make sure it doesn't look anything like my engagement ring (3 stone ring) so my engagement ring always stands out. I would like it to be easy to wear, so I could wear it every day if I choose to.

Re: Is this pear "the one?"

Yes, that may be the way to go. I quite like that solitaire. I was thinking a yellow gold bezel, too. On the plus side, it will be very comfortable to wear and I have a lot of problems with my hands, so comfort is important. After I see the lawyer today I'm going to stop by a jeweler I noticed when ...

Re: Is this pear "the one?"

I shot off an email this morning asking some questions about the yellow. I haven't seen an M in person, so I don't know how much you can enhance the yellow to make it look like it is definitely yellow. What do the experts here think? I might nab it anyway, because the color change is so amazing. Mos...

Re: Leon Mege's website blasts the HCA

I don't have a dog in the HCA fight. It sounds a lot like people not understanding the difference between screening tests and diagnostic tests, to look at this from a more medical point of view. They both have their place. However, I do find the picture he used to be disturbing. He's equating middle...

Re: Is this pear "the one?"

Thank you. For the setting I have no idea. Probably simple yellow gold to bring out the color. Honestly, no clue, beyond that. It depends on price since we had some annoying things pop up this month that has decimated my settings budget. I'm definitely going to ask him questions about the yellow col...

Is this pear "the one?"

A little background on what I am looking for, since it's a little less usual. I'm looking for the largest light yellow diamond I can get for my budget, and I really want one that has strong fluorescence. This is for a RHR. I'm kind of a rock hound, so I'm looking for something a bit unusual, but sti...

Re: OEC stone with GIA on ebay

Don't completely disregard My Diamond Zone. I have a 1.5 OMC from there, and it is quite nice, and exactly what they told me I was going to get. I reached out to JBG about a couple of rings. The first response was prompt, but when I asked further questions I received no response. I am a serious buye...

Re: OEC stone with GIA on ebay

I have a diamond from this seller. They are pretty reputable. I don't love the facet pattern on this particular stone, it's kind of mushy or off or something. That's personal preference, however. A GIA certification does not equal a better quality stone, it just means you are getting what you think ...

Re: new article for Pricescope knowledge base?

What about one talking about different metal colors and stone color grades. With yellow gold making a comeback, and people being more open to lower color diamonds, this might be a good topic to have on hand. It seems as though there is no consensus about how the metal color affects how a lower color...

Re: Giving my engagament ring a facelift

Thank you! I think I'm going to contact David Klass and see if we can stop by when we're in LA later this month and see what he has to say about fixing it up. Does anyone know his address by any chance, or even what part of town he's in? We're already driving about 2 hours to get these bees, and I d...

Re: Giving my engagament ring a facelift

I do like claw prongs. In fact, I was hoping to be able to put in double claw prongs, just for a little added security, plus I think they're pretty. I'm ridiculously attached to that stone, and I don't want to risk losing it. I'm a terrible photographer, but it is a stunner in person. There's just s...

Re: Giving my engagament ring a facelift

The engraving is a really good idea, so thank you for that. I do like it set high, though, because then I can see the stone from every angle. It's an antique cut (if you look close you can see the culet), and I like seeing all the little wonky details. If the basket was thinner, it could be lowered,...

Re: Guess election outcome

I think it's going to be Clinton vs Trump and Clinton is going to pants Trump. My second vote was Trump Sanders, and with Sanders winning. I just cannot believe that Trump has a snowballs chance because of his racism and misogyny. Right now he's riding the tide of angry white racists, but they're a ...

So you see the prongs are a joke. And this is the re-do, they were worse before.

I'm having trouble uploading pictures. Apparently my husband has filled both of my computers up with Go Pro videos. Giving my engagament ring a facelift

I always get the best setting info here. I have always had a few minor problems with my engagement ring, and I'm thinking about giving it a bit of a facelift. I'm not sure what can be done to it, leaving the actual ring in place. It was blessed by a priest at our wedding, and this means a lot to me....

Re: Absolute Newb: Where to start?

You should just talk to her. It's possible that she wants something really expensive, and is happy to chip in, too. Or, she might really want something simple and delicate, and cheaper than you want. Maybe her job is such that she wants a certain type of ring, like if she has to wear gloves or whatn...

Re: Need a brilliant moisturiser! Help!

My husband has really dry skin. I started making my own soap, which really helped (it's easy, just basic chemistry). We also have a few friends who are Dermatologists and they recommended ceramide creams. We buy the Cerave cream, and it really helps.

Re: Cleaning a diamond with chlorine

I think you mean straight chlorine bleach, and not pure chlorine. Chlorine is a gas, and was used as a chemical weapon in the world wars. Anyway, chlorine bleach will react with the alloys in the gold and will crack the setting. Even so, there are better ways to clean the diamond. You could try just...

Re: Settings and sensitive hands (arthritis)

That's a good point about the plain shanks. Do you think pave is uncomfortable? I haven't had well done pave before. Channel set might be an option. So far I get around the size issue by having rings in multiple sizes. I did size my wedding set up, but some days I can't wear it. I don't want to ruin...

Thanks, I'll look their site over. A cursory glace at it makes me wonder if having the detailing set on the sides of the shank might give me the unique feel that I want, but still be comfortable. Settings and sensitive hands (arthritis)

I wasn't sure how to title it. I have arthritis in my hands, and when it flares up I have a fair amount of pain. I've noticed that lately I have been choosing more comfortable RHR's most days because when my hands hurt they seem to be more sensitive to little things on the rings, or if they're more ...

Re: Couple of Oval questions

I have a thing for antique ovals, personally. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but they seem to be less common than other shapes. http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/2-22ct-antique-oval-cut-diamond-gia-g-vs2#.VxP6cT8WErI As for fluorescence, rarely it can make a diamond look hazy, but otherwise I think the...
