Re: Help me find a star sapphire ring

I would not go for either of the two cabochons from starruby because the huge cracks across the top are scary and I am concerned about their durability as ring stones. Big, blue, under $500 with interesting inclusions. http://www.multicolour.com/detail/?/details/star_sapphire/st2001aa/&12447166...

Re: Help me find a star sapphire ring

I have several posts I want to respond to, but I don't know if you can multi quote here, so please bear with this newbie. Or, since I keep bees, new BEE? I know, terrible pun. This is a nice-sized stone from a trusted Etsy vendor, but a halo setting would go over your price limit unless you get luck...

Re: Help me find a star sapphire ring

I definitely want a sapphire because of the birth stone thing. It is a pretty spinel, though. As far as size vs quality, I'll choose secret option C: whatever I happen to like. I buy jewelry for me, so it doesn't matter what the quality is, if I like it. I used to have quite a bit of jewelry (we wer...

Help me find a star sapphire ring

My husband wants to get me a sapphire and diamond (our birth stones) ring for our wedding anniversary. He's leaving everything up to me because he just wants me to have something I will love. I have set a budget of 1200-1400 USD. But I can go as high as 1600. But we also have a large family and a hu...

Re: Received my diamond from Adiamor. 2.0ct round Pic+video

beautiful diamond!! funny story was I was looking at the exact same diamond but through another vendor, was told that the diamond is from India, and that shipping would be expensive and no refund. So I didn't get the diamond! please post more pictures when you have it set!

Got my new ring and a weird hole-like in the diamond

Hi PSers. I received my new ring earlier this month from Whiteflash and still admiring it. The shank is symmetrical, crown is center and all four prongs are at the right height. I am very happy with it. Here are a couple pictures. I'll take more when I ask the big question. Till then, I'm still tryi...

Which diamond to choose and feather near the girdle

I'm looking at a couple of diamonds and there are feather near the girdle. Should I worry about this? I've been reading that it's a non-issue if the diamond is a VS2. Why is that? Here are the diamonds: http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3114524.htm http://www.whiteflas...

Re: Depth and angle issue for these round stones

Hi. Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it. I didn't factor the extraordinarily high clarity and the VVS. Those stones were recommended by JA.

I'll keep looking for other diamonds. Most likely at WF and BG. Hopefully I'll find something in the .7-.8 with a $3500 budget.

Re: Depth and angle issue for these round stones

And here's stone #1. http://www.pricescope.com/files/images/stone1_-_j80.jpg The JA gemologist said he prefers #3 but I like #2 more. And to top it off, I still keep thinking about the depth and think it's too high. Maybe I should look for another set of diamonds from BGD or WF. There aren't any JA ...

Re: Girlfriend really likes Tiffany setting...what to do?

I'm also interested in the Tiffany Harmony replica setting. I've seen JA's replica version and while it's nice, I don't think it's for me (and her). I'm in the process of talking to BGD and WF about custom ring. Not sure which company I should choose. Any tips?

Re: Depth and angle issue for these round stones

They all look decent. Depth is a little high but 5.9mm is just right for that carat weight, so that's fine. Which one would you choose? If I were to pick based on the specs then I do go with #2. Me too! I was leaning towards #2 but just a bit concerned that it might be too deep. I'm also debating i...

Depth and angle issue for these round stones

Hey there Bees, Shopping for a stone is really hard work. The magnify view of the stones at JA are pretty intimidating especially if the scratches or dents will show up in real life. I'm looking at three round stones from JA that look to be very similar yet I be concerned about the depth is too deep...

Re: Question about engagement ring setting adjustment.

Okay, good to know it's the basket, and thank you for clarifying that we'd have to remake the ring (bummer). Also, thanks for suggesting the spacer. Unfortunately, the band is already paid for and the idea of buying another band 1 - is frustrating, and 2 - isn't in the budget. I should have clarifie...

Question about engagement ring setting adjustment.

We are getting married next January and picked out/ordered our wedding bands in March (at our jeweler's trunk show - great prices). I picked a band with three rows of small stones that wasn't part of a set with my engagement ring, but was very similar. I really liked the band, and with the trunk sho...
