Re: The Ring Box Thread - Post Your Engagement Ring Boxes!!!

I own three! The Huegenot, The Essex and the Emperor I think. If they put out darker colors in fall which I assume they will I will likely get those since I prefer those shades. The purple ended up being my favorite!

Re: Do you like buying your own bling?

DH doesn't buy me jewelry and I prefer to keep it as such. May I ask, why? Because he knows that he is not "anywhere near as knowledgeable and won't risk buying something that won't meet my standards." He laughed out loud when he saw me reading it. "Like hell I would dare wade in tha...

Re: A spacer band?

Another vote. I also have a Sol band, though I wear a 1.5mm band because I want it to look more like a plain band than an invisible spacer (prior to this I wore a 2mm band as a spacer).

Re: Experience with knee injury - torn meniscus and/or ACL?

The more you do on the injury though, the longer it takes to heal and the more damage is done to other things. Pain is nothing to ignore.

Re: Follow Up from Perfect Circle Ordeal Graff Ring!

Your new ring is gorgeous! I am so glad you were able to find one you love. My insurance came up recently and I am doing research to change it. Chubb for me too! I am appalled at the way Perfect Circle treated you. I am with Ame, I will never recommend them again. Much dust for your speedy and tota...

Re: Follow Up from Perfect Circle Ordeal Graff Ring!

It's beautiful. I am so glad you were able to replace it. They dropped you? Repulsive. I hope you can get coverage elsewhere. Update your other thread if you haven't already so people know you were dropped. The bad PR is enough to drive people away in droves. I certainly will NEVER recommend them to...

Re: Why Do people on PS help big chains ?

What an OBNOXIOUS "question" you're asking. First off: none of them are chains. Not one. Good Old Gold and Winfields (HPD) are and were small family owned brick and mortar stores long before they had a web presence. They still are, in fact. I've been to GOG, and to the pizza shop next door...

Re: What's in your purse?! Photos welcome!

I always carry a small-ish purse. I just have the basics. Keys, comb, lipstick, chapstick, pen, small hand lotion, debit card, a little cash, Advil, band aids, emery board, mini sewing kit, a mini tape measure, and a tiny Swiss army knife. What else does one need? And of course, like Lil Misfit----...

Re: What's in your purse?! Photos welcome!

Am I the only person who carries a leather-bound black hole on this forum? The only way I soothe is through the propaganda that creative people thrive in a messy environment...since I can't let my home get that way, I have to keep it to my purse. ::) ETA: ame, your purse is a thing of beauty! thank...

Re: Be careful when bored....

I am out of town and this morning was sitting alone at my daughter's house. I decided to click on Lending Tree and see about refinancing my small mortgage down to 10yrs. I knew I should not give my phone number but they said it was just to verify my identity. Well, my husband text and said that he ...

How big is the little makeup bag with the inhaler? It is in that little polka dot bag and I believe it's 7wx5h. It's totally flat when empty. The key thing was something my mom would always say. I never listened til it was too late! Last night I spent a couple frustrating hours trying to load the new smaller bag and realizing it is too small for me. AND that I "need" more in a day than I want to admit. I really want this bag to ...

I am in the process of downsizing and cleaning out my purse to make the transition, and as I do that, I am trying to pare down. That looks like an easy enough alter for a seamstress and sounds like it is well worth it to keep the hubby happy! Looks like a great bag too. It REALLY is. I love it. Re: Experience with knee injury - torn meniscus and/or ACL?

My brother has torn his, pretty badly, and surgery was the only option. Being that he was a college FB player, he was in pretty prime shape so he bounced back easily and quickly. I think it is worth doing it for quality of life in general though.

Have you ever altered an item that you spent money on?

Last year I found what has become just about the perfect carryon bag for me. DH and I DO NOT check bags except in the most extreme scenarios (like, I bought a lot of stuff that I can't easily ship home and checking a bag is my only option). The only negative about it is that it doesn't have a long s...

Another drinking thread....advice requested

If you want to stop, the best way, I think is to avoid situations where there is alcohol. And just not have it. I drank in college and my early 20s and one day I just...stopped. I hated the feeling, and it didn't really taste good. I didn't like myself when I went out with people and I had alcohol. ...
