Re: Help me choose a setting for my AVC

I have yet to see anything by him on here, but Adam Foster is local to STL, and makes some neat stuff. He has a shop on Etsy as well, but his shop in STL is a tiny little outpost and mostly a workshop with like A case of stuff. He does almost all custom stuff. He works at CRAZY high magnification a...

Re: Platinum ring questions

It should've been polished better than that. But yes platinum can dent, that might not seem like a big drop to you but the amount of force that it created can definitely dent the ring, regardless of alloy.

Re: B2Cjewels: "Holiday" or elaborate "bait-and-switch"?

So you told a B&M jeweler about your internet purchase and that jeweler bashed it? SHOCKING. Not! We have a jeweler local to me that has a whole manifesto on the wall poster size about internet diamonds. I've had a few go-arounds with him. He's a trip.My assumption is more along the lines that t...

A few from Single Stone that I thought might be amazing with your set: http://singlestone.com/index.php?page=collections&catID=3&pID=1806&startRow=2 (in a white metal) http://singlestone.com/index.php?page=collections&catID=3&pID=2008&startRow=11 http://singlestone.com/index....

Re: Hubba hubba.

Thanks ladies!!!

Yea I don't like to sleep in studs either. When I had CBRs in that was no big deal, no backings, just a hoop, so nothing to poke. But studs of any kind seem to get me. They're pretty awesome!

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Yes, while I do think you get what you pay for, I don't feel I did in my situation with this ring. But that's done now. Wink I hope that's fixable but that's gotta be a remake if that looks better in pics!

I'll be sticking with a ps vendor who knows my quirks!

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Oh my god! See that's crazy. That is one thing I wouldn't have been ok with though--letting someone outside of Vatche swap the stone out on the ring. That would have gone to Vatche on principle. Yes I do think it IS worth paying more for a job well done. In fact, I did just pay a pretty penny for a ...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Boy do I love GOG. Love is not a strong enough word. I just got word from the lovely Marie at GOG that it's 100% my diamond and there is NO damage whatsoever. They found the faintest hint of an inscription under their microscope. They are going to reinscribe it for me. They did a SARIN and it match...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Mine actually has the serial from Star only, not the lab numbers. They can actually do it in house, since it is the old Star Diamond Group serial, not the current star company's current serial data. The labs have it identified.

So, I did find your thread on your gorgeous stud earrings Ame, stunning they are! So happy you like then, have you ended up wearing them every day? Sorry, I have not read through the whole thread, I will later, just no time yet. I actually love this size. I too ended up ordering 30 pointers but I d...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

The eagle has landed at GOG. I trust that they will confirm it's whereabouts and confirm all is correct. It will be reinscribed and Ill have it back next week. Ill lock er up! Re: What bag are you carrying

Does anyone else carry a clutch when going out in the evenings? I do because I feel sort of strange wearing a shoulder bag when I go out. I have about 7 clutches that I rotate based on my outfit - they are either Chanel or Alexander McQueen. Not I. I am a handsfree kinda girl. I wear a smaller cros...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Yes I do trust GOG inherently, otherwise they wouldn't be who I called immediately about my stone. They are more expensive for most settings though. So I have to weigh that. They were who I immediately thought of for my brother's stone for my sister in law, my brother just had different requirements...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Throughout the years, there have been a few times when I've been stumped by a stone which I knew to be inscribed, but which I just couldn't seem to find the inscription on; in most instances, it was a matter of the black carbon dust which is initially created by the inscription process being steame...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

I wanna be clear here that I am not making an accusation. It could very well be there and IMPOSSIBLE to find. But you'd think under HIGH magnification it would be there. I am going to be much more relieved when it's back and confirmed and reinscribed.

Re: Solitaire suggestions

Yea not exactly a comforting end to this! Not at all. But I must have "JINX" stamped across my forehead. I think when the diamond stuff is worked out I might need a break. I went to Simons last night just to try to see that setting--they don't have it or anything remotely similar to look a...

Re: Solitaire suggestions

I just spoke with Marie at GOG, I am sending it in to get reinscribed and Ill have them confirm it all matches up. The cut is pretty hard to copy and so is this clarity. So once they confirm all is right and reinscribe it, I will then figure out from there WHAT to do. Right now, I am, like, so panic...

Ok fine, while they're at it ban GI JOE, ban Lego, ban superheroes. BAN ALL TOYS. They ALL influence children negatively in some way when a parent isn't intervening.

Re: Seeking Ideas

It's all relative. I think a great size is 1-1.25 cts. It's large without being obnoxious. And on her hand will look amazing, esp in a three stone. I think many vendors can make a similar setting, or you could get THAT setting if she really loved it. The budget is important to know, and I'd focus th...

Re: What bag are you carrying

Hi, I mainly carry the Coach Legacy. It is a workhorse and mine is old. Last month I cleaned and polished up the two leather handbags I use most. They turned out great. The other bag I use is black and brown, which is in fashion now, although this is an older bag as well. Its a Liz Claiborn drawstr...

Re: Just in time for XYZmas, Breaking Bad Action Figures

I think it's stupid that they're pulling them. Adults like toys and collect this stuff, too. Be the parent: if you dont want your child to have it, don't buy it for them, and don't greenlight the purchase. It's really that simple. Don't send your kid in to a toy store armed with the funds alone if y...

Re: Reset with Victor Canera? What would you do?

I think you should meet with him and see what he has to say. IMO, I wonder if you might get bored with a solitaire pretty quickly (an all metal solitaire) coming from what you have. I think you either need to go halo, or the solitaire with the beautiful web like basket and pave on the shank. Of cou...
