Re: Do you surf the internet at work?

Absolutely, and no, my boss doesn't care. He would care if I didn't get my work done, but I do. He streams live sporting events at work all the time.

Re: "Just Barely" Pregnant PS''ers

SMC, oh my goodness. I don't even know what to say, but thank goodness everything is ok! NT scan was this morning. Baby looked great! NT measurement was around 1.5. The tech asked of we wanted a gender guess, and as she went to that area there was no doubt that it's likely a boy. He wasn't shy! I al...

Re: PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Can someone please take back this terror child and give me my sweet angel back? Man, the terrible twos have hit hard. Everything is a battle. Last night he dumped a cup of water on the floor. Just because.

Anyway, we found out that baby #2 is most likely a boy! We announced to fb today with this pic-

Re: PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

I think B is going through a growth spurt and it's affecting his sleep. Last night, he woke up at 1am crying and whining. He stayed up until 4, then woke up again at 6. The night before, he was up from 4-6am. Both nights he has woken up crying and doesn't want to be touched or picked up. Eventually ...

Re: How do you cope with bereavement?

I'm so sorry. My aunt died back in November. She had had breast cancer years ago and we all though she was solidly in remission. Apparently it had come back at some point and only her husband, their kids and the kids' spouses knew. She lives in another state and DH and I (and DS) were planning on se...

Thanks :) I definitely agree about managing expectations. I'm sort of going into it with the "that would be really cool if this worked" mindset.

Potty Training

B will be two in two weeks (how did that happen?). He has been going pee on the potty since we bought one when he was around 18 months. He doesn't go on his own, but he knows what it is and what it's for, so if I put him on it he will go. He will also go a couple of hours with a dry diaper. I always...

Does anyone on here keep a family journal? A blog I read recently wrote about one, and I think it's a great idea.

I finally spoke with my OB around 7 last night. She said it sounds like it's all normal and to let her know if I have any spotting. It is pretty much what I figured, and it was nice to get the confirmation.

AMC, hope everything's ok. Any chance it's related to constipation or round ligament pain? I was dealing with some of that and increasing my fiber intake really helped. Now I put oat bran on everything. Could also be the uterine stretching. It's funny, I was just thinking about how I haven't had an...

Out of curiosity for the ladies who have had the Harmony/MaterniT21/Cell-Free FetalDNA test, how long was it before you had any results? It was 1.4mm at 11 weeks, so it's within normal range. I'm a little worried because the average at 11 weeks is 1.1mm, so I'm above average (doctor says not to worry but it's my baby!). Re: Wanting but Waiting...

I have a friend who was in that position, except she was the one dragging her feet. She had a bunch of excuses and "let's wait until after x" type of things. Her husband finally told her there will always be some reason to wait. Which is true. There will always be a better house, schools, ...

SMC Seattle sounds much like Chicago for its daycare rates. We were paying over $25K for E's first year in daycare. It drops a few hundred bucks each year they get older, but it's still pretty expensive. For us, home day cares near us the timing didn't work out for drop off and pick up. But we're l...

Re: Vacuum recommendations other than Dyson

We have the Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away. It is, by far, the best vacuum I've ever had. It swivels on a dime and is easy to use. It is an upright that can also be used as a canister (the tank "lifts away" from the upright part), which makes it great for stairs. I vacuumed with my o...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Huff- just remember that EWCM and O pains are secondary signs of ovulation. Not having them doesn't mean you didn't O, just like having them doesn't mean you did O. As for the OPKs, it's very possible to miss a surge. Also, I have two friends who can't get a the positive opk. One is pregnant with he...

I agree with you. With odds like that, I'm not sure I'd fork out that much money, either. I figure that if my odds were really such that there was a concern, MaterniT21 would be covered by my insurance anyway. This would be especially true if there were no other soft markers found. It took me forever to get mine back, but that was due to a clerical error. Re: Do you own nicer jewelry than your boss?

Jewelry, yes. Car, no.

I remember the first time the bosses noticed my E-ring- "That's the difference between getting married in your early 30s vs your early 20s." They were both married really young and have never upgraded.

Re: What is the best age to have kids?

Assuming all else being equal (in terms of money, housing, etc.), I think late 20s is the best time. DS was born when we were both 32. Baby #2 will be born when we are 34. I'm already so much more tired this round than I was before. I remember how much energy I had in my 20s and it would be nice to ...
