Re: Favorite stage of life?

I'm hoping my 40s. I'm 36 now and have an almost 4yo, 18mo, and #3 coming in just over 2 weeks. So I pretty much feel tired all of the time. And broke...kids are expensive. Another 5-6 years there will be no more day care to pay for, and that will be AMAZING.

Re: Let's talk baby names

So, did you decide, amc? We did! It was actually really fun to pick. I wrote down the three names on three index cards. DH shuffled them and we had B pick one, then he handed it to me without either of us looking. I taped it to the inside of a bakery box (bought a cheesecake for the occasion). I th...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Congrats, Urseberry! So stinking cute! I'm 35w and they finally moved my CS date up a week to 38 weeks. I had a growth scan yesterday and "little" man was measuring 8lbs2oz, all of his measurements were above the 98th %ile. So he's basically measuring full term, my fundal height is measuri...

Re: Learning to play the violin as an adult

I played violin as a child, through the Suzuki Method. My only advice- don't do that method :) It focuses on memorization and not so much on sight reading. Even to this day, if I pick up a violin or sit down at the piano, I'm a horrible sight reader and find myself trying to memorize the music in or...

Re: Any pet rabbit owners?

I have had rabbits for much of my childhood and they were a joy. My daughter recently received a rabbit for her birthday and he is the first indoor rabbit I have lived with. He is the perfect pet, but I suspect much of that is individual temperament and my daughter's dedication to taking care of hi...

Re: Let's talk baby names

Okay, DH wants to decide on a name so we are picking this weekend. Haven't actually decided the method of picking...but picking nonetheless. Likely it will be out of a hat. Blake, Cooper, and Hudson. I saw your post on Swistle! I voted for Hudson. Haha yay! I'm warming up to Hudson, especially afte...

Re: Let's talk baby names

Good luck amc!! I don't know how well this might work if you just can't decide what feels best, but I once had a vendor play a game with me when I couldn't pick between 2-3 things. He suddenly says "what if I said you have 5 seconds to pick, or you can't have ANY of them? 5...4...3..." Al...

Re: LifeLock or similar type protection

I've had Lifelock for years. They alert me when there's any sort of data breach that pertains to me. I've had no issues, and, luckily, have never had my identity stolen. We've had Lifelock for several years now BUT both times we were hacked our bank noticed first and gave us a quick phone call. Hon...

Re: Joint bank account - how does it work?

For those with separate accounts, what do you use it for? What do you spend it on that would not come from a joint accout. I am at a loss. My clothes, food, entertainment, jewelry, etc are all considered our expenses, just like his clothes, food, etc So what do you do with personal money? Maybe we ...

Re: Hangover Disproportionate to Intake

This happened to me about 10 years ago. I would have a very low tolerance and then have horrible hangovers...from maybe two drinks. Turns out I had a stomach ulcer.

Re: Shoot or don't shoot scenarios. WWYD?

This is great. Big kudos to him for having an open enough mind to agree to this experiment. DH (Former LEO) has told me many times that when you are in the moment, everything is sort of on hyperspeed and you have to make very quick decisions. He's also said that in that split second, he's always goi...

Re: Joint bank account - how does it work?

We had separate accounts for the first couple years of our marriage. Not for any reason, we were just to lazy/busy to combine. We also used different banks so we needed to figure that out as well. We now each have our original accounts, plus a joint account at the bank DH uses. All of his check plus...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Evergreen, what a cute bump! Adorable. Glad the anatomy scan went mostly well, and sorry about the contractions. I was in L&D all day yesterday. I started feeling some contractions as I drove in to work. By the time I got there, they were every 1-4 minutes. Called my doc who told me to go right ...

Re: Do you know anyone who has won the lottery?

And of course, the US doesn't seem immigrant-friendly right now. So there's that. I just wanted to address this. I don't think it's true, at all. Certain people are fed up with certain aspects of immigration, such as people who come in illegally, or those who come in with no means to support themse...

Re: Couple "tricked" into spending $37K on a bogus e-ring

It would have been nice if they used a reporter that knew anything at all about diamonds. Since when is a CE diamond made in a lab? Still a diamond. Also, while a store should be upfront about what they are selling, did this guy really think he was getting a 4.5ct stone for under $40k? Two minutes o...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Had an appointment today- my fundal height is measuring 38 weeks. No wonder I feel so slow and out of it! Re: Subway tile or something else?

We just had stainless steel subway tile installed in our kitchen as our sink backsplash. Re: Have you ever had one of those years?

Yes. The past 18 months or so have been crazy. Had a baby, relocated (so, new job + buying a house from out of state), being on my own while DH finished up in our old location, and DH taking a really long time to find a good job. So lots of stress, both logistical and financial. Oh, and SURPRISE! Fo...

Re: House Democrats Stage Sit-In For Gun Control

I keep thinking at some point common sense has to kick in with Republicans. It never happens. The NRA has bought that party. If 20 children losing their life didn't wake them up...nothing will. It would be interesting to see if they still felt this way had one of their children were killed by an as...
