Re: The U.S. must pass a new law stating that...

I would welcome people of great character from anywhere. The problem is, the ones who seem to want to come here in the manner that they do are not the ones that I would consider as having "great character". Strikes me more as the get the free benefits and cater to me type of character. An...

Re: Are you Catholic? I have a ? re: Mass Cards

I had to look it up... this is what I found: A Mass card, also known as a Mass offering card, memorial card or a remembrance card, is a greeting card given to someone to let them know that they, or a deceased loved-one, will be remembered and prayed for in the intentions at a Mass.... He or she wil...

Oh, very nice! Glad you found something that works for you. I think that's a very appropriate look--good job! :appl: Thanks. I wanted to update everyone with what I got.

It is a sleeveless shirt with a shrug over it, with a pair of black slacks.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!

Re: Confrontation

I am the same way with confrontation. I try to avoid it whenever possible. It's hard for me to get anything said without crying, which is annoying and embarrassing.

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I agree with Niel. B was moving all the time. I never did kick counts because there was no need. T rarely moved. I would have to do a lot of belly poking and moving around to let me know he was okay. Plus I had all that extra fluid, which makes movements harder to feel.

Re: True Confessions

:-) This made me smile. I remember those days very well. When my boys went through this phase and I reached my "mama" limit, I would stop responding to "mama". I would tell them they had to call me "Princess Penelope". Made me smile and it was trickier for them to say ...

Re: True Confessions

Okay, here's one that makes me sound horrible. My son is 2.5. He prefaces every single thing he says with "mama." It's 8am and he's said "mama" at least 100 times so far. Sometimes he says it and then forgets what he was going to say after. I know I will miss this stage, but righ...

Re: Fashion help

Aw, I feel your pain AMC! Where do you normally shop? To avoid costly alterations and save time, I would try to find a pair of black pants, a dressy, knit top with a modest neckline, and a cardigan to serve as a jacket. Nice, low-heeled black pumps or flats and a conservative handbag and accessorie...

Re: True Confessions

Monarch- can you go to the gym between work at home? Aside from the fitness aspect, an hour of peace and quiet has been my motivation to work out lately. And with a 4 week old and a 2.5 year old, I really need that hour for my sanity. And (confession)- an added bonus is that means DH is alone with b...

I could use some fashion help! I have a job interview next week. I have no business appropriate clothes that fit. My company doesn't really have a dress code, so I wear jeans every day and haven't bought more formal clothes in years. To add to the fun, I had a baby 4 weeks ago, so I've got the "...

Re: PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

amc, B is cute and getting so big! Sounds like you definitely have your hands full these days. No advice on the potty training. We can't even get Ev to go in the potty. He'll just sit there and sit there, but won't go, so you're way ahead of us. Question - are they supposed to get well checks at 2....

Re: PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Wow, I've missed a lot! Having two kids is so much harder than one. Barrett is doing well. He's adjusting to being a big brother. He is very concerned for T and will help me give him a bath or feed or whatever. B is seeming more interested in him as well, asking to touch his hair or hand. I can't wa...

Re: Anyone Have Experience with False Positive HPT results?

I had a lot of that the first few weeks. I had almost a stabbing like pain (though not severe). I think it was probably just stretching for me. If you're concerned, definitely mention it to your doctor. Oh, and I also felt on several different days like I'd been kicked in the crotch by someone with...

Re: Anyone Have Experience with False Positive HPT results?

False positives are very, very rare. Most of the time the "positive" isn't really a positive but an evap line on the test. Evap lines are gray rather than pink or blue, and are more common in blue dye tests. True false positives can be caused by all sorts Of scary stuff. Don't google. But ...

Re: Work out clothing and shoes

My mom was just telling me about Athleta. She loves their stuff. It's a bit too pricey for me for workout stuff, but the quality is very high. For shoes, it really depends on what you'll be doing. If you plan on running (or even walking a lot on the treadmill), I highly recommend visiting a running ...

"Wood" tile floors

Does anyone on here have experience with the tile that looks like wood planks? It seems like a great way to get the look of hard wood without some of the maintenance issues. Some of it looks really nice, but I would love feedback from someone who has actually used it.

I think that's a nice progression. Those tests take forever to get really dark. I don't think I got a dark line until I was at least like 21dpo or so.
