Re: Help with NT results

It is my full name, I have no idea how to get rid of it now that it is posted. Good news they were able to find a nasal bone this time and my risk has dropped to 1:2200. The genetic counsellor said to me that they thought they saw a nasal bone the first time but couldn't get a good picture. It woul...

Re: Pumpers unite!

You know, I did not even know that you could use other nipples with them. I guess using an adapter? Apparently it's the same adapters that you use for pumps. My decision was made easy- the Kiinde FB page has a 50% off code for their kits. So I got the basic kit for $20. I'll still need to buy more ...

Re: Pumpers unite!

AMC, I've used the Kiinde twist. It is very easy to use and convenient. I don't know how old your LO is, but I found the slow nipples to be a little fast, somewhere between my Dr. Brown level 1 and level 2 nipples, so for a brand new baby, too fast. Milk would pour out of DD's mouth when I first tr...

It can help, but most techs would rather you didn't do that. A baby moving too much will make it just as hard to get good pictures.

Re: Pumpers unite!

I'm resurrecting this thread. I just saw an ad for the Kiinde Twist system and it looks amazing. Have any of you used it? It's similar to the Playtex Drop-Ins, in that it goes directly from pump to freezer to bottle. The difference is that the pouches have thread and screw directly into the system (...

Re: Let's talk baby names

One thing I've always wondered is how you cope with names that need spelling out? My best friend has an unusual Maori name and has spent a life time correcting people - she swears that giving your child an usual/hard to pronounce/spell name is the most selfish thing you can do as a parent and somet...

MP- Oh man, I feel your pain. B will sometimes fight diaper changes like crazy. Just getting him into his PJs is a huge battle. I'd love for the night routine to be this lovely, relaxing, bonding experience....but usually, it's just an hour long fight. I've found a few things that have helped, thoug...

Re: Help with NT results

MLK- Over on babycenter.com there is an Ultrasound board (http://community.babycenter.com/groups/a6925/ultrasounds) headed by an actual u/s tech. You could always post your pics over there to get another opinion.

BTW- Your name and DOB are on the u/s pics you posted, so you might want to edit :)

SMC- Yay for normal results! And a girl! Do you have any names picked? I had my 16w appointment yesterday. I was really scared about getting weighed because I haven't been watching what I've been eating at all. I am so used to throwing up that I sort of just eat whatever. Well, I only gained 4lbs so...

Quick drive by to say that they were too busy to take me today so I have to call my doctor in the morning for the next step. I'm only at 41w today so I'm totally ok with the extra day to go into labor on my own. Good luck today, then! That happened to me as well except we showed up at L&D at 6a...

Hi ladies! Well, I hate to put it in writing, because it will likely reverse....but I felt really good all weekend! Re: BTDT moms- Do I need a double stroller?

So, DH and I went to BRU and looked at strollers. I think he just wants to go with the Baby Trend sit n stand. He thinks it will be easier since it's compatible with what we already have. I was sold on the City Mini double, but DH wants something we can use the infant carrier with without buying exp...

pancake and clairitek, homestretch FTW! Good luck! When do people normally go on maternity leave? My company gives 8 weeks paid plus 12 weeks FMLA so I can probably take up to 5 mos off. I was getting a pedicure when pregnant with B. The guy doing it said "oh you must be having the baby any time now!" I was 27 weeks. In other news, I bought another Snoogle yesterday (since DH took over my old one). Last night was awesome. I was so much more comfortable and slept like a roc...

NEL, I feel your pain. B was riding his scooter/balance bike/tricycle and we were ready to go inside. Dieting shouldn't affect your LP. I think I read that you didn't chart? You likely just O'd later than you think you did.

Niel, Bright, how are you gals doing? I had a great weekend. I took Friday off to catch up on sleep. I took a lovely nap and basically laid on the couch all day. I felt so much better and didn't need a Zofran all day. Same with Saturday and Sunday. I figured I was getting over the nausea thing....un...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I should have listened to AMC and stopped temping - two temps in a row that are WAY below the coverline today and yesterday. I'm only 5DPO so it doesn't make sense (implantation dips are only supposed to be one day, and AF isn't due for 1.5 weeks). Weird, right? Hmm, the only thing I can think of i...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AMC - I've never properly charted before. I have used FF for probably 10 cycles just tracking my periods so I have an idea of how long each cycle is, but other than that (as you can see) I'm not super consistent with temping, etc. My temp spike on the 11th should probably be discarded as I forgot a...
