Re: PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Me again with a quick question. Do any of you give your toddlers a daily multivitamin or any supplements? Is that a good idea? Because Ev was so congested earlier in the week, we were told to avoid giving him milk for awhile and stick to water or pedialyte. It just got me thinking that there are da...

Re: Do you ever get depressed on your birthday?

I definitely do. I think it's because I always really enjoyed my birthdays as a kid...but as an adult, they are just sort of blah. This last year it was on a Saturday and DH was working...so it was just like any other day. Oh, except we were moving so we packing as well.

Re: Newborn vs. Toddler stage -which is harder? REPRISE

I don't know, this is a tough one. B is generally well behaved, but he is very much two. He is also very very active. It's exhausting. Oh, and he also isn't a great sleeper. Last night he was up from 3-4am. No reason. He's never been a great sleeper. The difference is now, we can interact. We have c...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Hi Muff! Hope you're MS eases up and you can "enjoy" the rest of your pregnancy. amc, sorry about the glucose test. I think that 2 out of 3 people who fail the 1 hr pass the 3 hr test so the odds are in your favor. I think you need to get 2 abnormal readings out of the 4 blood draws they ...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Welcome, Muff! SMC, nice job on the glucose test! I, on the other hand, just found out that I failed my test...by 4 points. So now I have to do the three hour tests....which means I have to be fasting AND not eat/drink for the 3 hours of the test. How is that even possible for a pregnant person? Oh,...

Yep, that's exactly what I did. I think the problem is my fingers aren't so much swollen as they are fat.

Re: Getting ring off finger

Unfortunately, nothing worked. I tried a combination of methods and it just won't come off. I think the wrap method is more successful when the swelling is only due to, well, swelling, as opposed to actual fat. The "good" news is I called my jeweler (who made the ring) and they will cut it...

Re: C-Section Recovery questions

amc, seems like your fears of giving birth vaginally are totally justified given your first birth experience: http://www.whattoexpect.com/wom/pregnancy/0810/giving-birth-causes-ptsd-symptoms-in-one-third-of-moms.aspx Interesting! Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I had my 24w appointment today. Everything looks good! I'm measuring about 3 weeks ahead, which isn't surprising given how huge I am. I got a lab slip for my glucose test and a bunch of other stuff. I've been eating a ton of ice so I suspect my iron is low. My CS date has been moved, but to the date...

Re: Did you do anything special before TTC?

Hi! I'm another one of those "no way I can sit and do nothing" people. I started charting and using OPKs about six months before we started TTC. It 1) confirmed I was ovulating, 2) confirmed I had a healthy luteal phase, and 3) allowed me to learn my ovulation symptoms (since charting only...

I've read Circle of Friends a couple of times now - I'm a big fan of Maeve Binchy (may she RIP) - have never seen the movie however. As another suggestion, if you/your book club hasn't read it already, I highly recommend The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Ba...

It's my turn to pick the book for my book club. Unless something sounds better, I'm going with Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy. I read it 10 years ago (after loving the movie) or so and enjoyed it. Re: When do you get your flu vaccine?

I will get mine at our health fair at work in a couple of weeks. I just canceled my son's appointment. He skin tests as allergic to egg yolk, even though he eats stuff with eggs in it (cooked, like baked goods) without a problem. He's never had just plain old eggs though, nor can we get him to try ...

Candy corn, anything with dark chocolate, anything with coconut (love the taste, but it's like eating pieces of plastic), twizzlers. I love licorise, but twizzlers are gross.

Mine went up about $40 a month. Not horrible. Eta: what I think is interesting is my employer, a large hospital system, offers insurance single, single +1, or family. So you don't have to pay more if you have more than one kid. Also age and sex is not a factor. When I have a private policy they tak...

That's true. But sperm has a 3 month month production cycle so unless he quit months ago it probably doesn't matter right now.

Health Premiums - 2015 Edition

We just got our info on our health premiums. Plus, our drug coverage is changing, to where we have to pay 20% of name brand (generics are sti...
