Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Please share in my excitement. I just got a message from my doctor. He didn't have results from the last draw, but he said my results were "so normal" that the last number wouldn't make any difference. He said I can keep eating what I'm eating and doing what I'm doing. I am so excited!!!!...

I'm the same way. I need time to internalize everything, not having a cheering squad.

I've had three early losses, and my mom has no idea. It's just more information than I'm comfortable sharing with her.

Re: Interviewing. Ask about flex work schedule?

amc, just bumping this to ask how your interviewing is going? Also, I wanted to give a final update. I received an offer without any mention of a flexible or reduced work schedule. I decided to try to negotiate, but they weren't willing to give me a "formal" WFH schedule. They did say I c...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I've been cautious and have kept alcohol limited to AF and maybe a day or two after. In part because I, too, wouldn't mind losing a few pounds, and I'm trying to avoid anything that might, on some level, affect our chances. Alcohol certainly isn't a contraceptive...many a pregnancy are even blamed ...

Re: Anyone ever use ASAP Tickets for airfare?

I am a part-time travel agent. Your best bet is almost always to book directly through the airline's site. Prices are rarely discounted on other sites (or, more often, they appear discounted but have extra fees and such). More importantly, if something goes wrong with your flights, it's usually a gi...

Re: Any Business or Econ majors? Daughter needs help!

I have a BA in Econ and Poli Sci and an MA in Econ, all from UCSB. From a major standpoint, economics and business are very different. Econ is very math driven, and is considered a quantitative based major. A lot of analyst positions will say they want a degree in statistics or economics, as an exam...

Personally I'm in the "drink till it's pink" club. I know a lot won't do that and don't drink at all so it's really down to you to decide. I have cut back though, well as of today anyway, vacation was an unlimited drink package blur :lickout: When I do drink though I "try" to ke...

I was trying to think of words I find offensive, but there really aren't any. There are a lot of words I find rude or inappropriate, but not offensive. They are just words. But I'm also pretty much the least PC person around, so maybe that's why.

Re: Interviewing. Ask about flex work schedule?

NEL- I just got off the phone from an initial phone interview. I mentioned that I read in Glassdoor reviews that people talked about flexibility and telecommuting. I phrased it as more of a statement- "I read that people can be really flexible with their work hours and such. Of course, all of t...

Haha I love this LadyC! Also, for all my worrying, my temps finally went up and I apparently just had a fallback, FF says I ovulated on Cd15 which is my usual day. Go figure. Re: Interviewing. Ask about flex work schedule?

I'm actually dealing with a similar thing. We are looking at moving, and I will likely end up with a fairly awful commute. I'm willing to do it, but it would be nice if I could telecommute at least one day a week. Glassdoor has been a big help in determining which companies are even open to this opt...

Re: Are you afraid of snakes?

Yes. I think I have an actual phobia. When I was about 9, my brother had a pet snake and was holding it in his hand. I pointed at something and the next thing I knew, the snake was flying through the air and attached to my finger.

Re: Which is your favorite type of apple?

I really like Honeycrisps. They are tart and sweet, which makes them perfect for me. My husband hates them. He prefers Fuji's. I have found that buying organic really makes a difference in flavor. When I buy non-organic, the apples have a watered down flavor. I buy about 10 pounds of apples per wee...

Re: Do you own an electric kettle? Do you use it?

Thanks for the votes everyone! I'm with Jennifer W, water boiled in the microwave doesn't taste right. Y...

So, any update? What did the doctor say Yes! The doctor basically said that at this age, even if they can get to their sides, they probably can't get to their stomachs. Since doing so requires moving the arm a certain way, and that's a developmental thing. He wasn't against sleep positioners but sa...

Have you talked to your doctor about it? I remember it was a concern of mine when M was born, he said if she's able to roll herself over then she's old enough to sleep that way. I'd be more comfortable with that then putting anything in the bed. No, but his 2 month appointment is on Thursday, so I ...
