Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Well. That's great you passed though, AMC!! Here's hoping your doc doesn't have you repeat it in a few weeks....sometimes we do that for patients who have borderline results. Ugh, I hope not! Here are my results: Fasting - 80 (65-94) 1 Hour - 177 (64-179) 2 Hour - 176 (65-154) 3 Hour - 108 (65-139)...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Well, it looks like I passed! My results are...borderline...but the nurse said it was normal. I'd still like to talk to my doctor about it, though. My main concern is that my level only went down by one point between hour 1 and 2 (and the hour 2 result was pretty far over the acceptable range).

Re: how to explain death to 2.5 year toddler? pet dying...

I'm so sorry :( Not quite the same thing, but we just gave away one of our cats this past weekend. She was just terrified of our toddler and would spend all day hiding, and she's the kind of cat who needs and wants attention all the time. He's asked a few time where Zoe went, and I just say she went...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I'm measuring 2-3 weeks ahead. I will have a growth scan at 32 weeks. My OB is assuming this will be another big baby, likely bigger than B was. But since I'm having a c-s anyway it isn't really that big of a deal. B was measuring about 4 weeks ahead (I think his head was 5 weeks) at my 36 week gro...

Re: BB cream recommendations?

This isn't exactly BB cream, but it's what my dermatologist recommended-

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012XO2W6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has just enough tint to even things out.

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I survived the three hour glucose test. I think my expectations were such that it wasn't bad as I thought it would be. The lab had a little bed type thing (more like a padded table) where I hung out. I tried to nap but that stuff gives me such awful heartburn, so laying down was not ideal. The baby...

Re: Costco Wipes Alternative?

AMC, do the Costco wipes you have still have the sticker over where the wipes come out after you open the plastic top? That's how you can tell the difference - apparently that sticker is gone on the new ones, and they have a strong odor. We still have the old ones, but i heard that the new ones are...

Re: Costco Wipes Alternative?

I heard that Costco changed the formula of the wipes and that they have a horrible smell now. And, I also read they are potentially burning/stinging skin now. Does anyone have an alternative unscented wipe recommendation? I'm not sure, but we use costco wipes and haven't had issues. I've tried othe...

Re: Huggies Pull-Ups or Pampers Easy Ups?

We use Huggies and they work just fine. B's bladder is huge and he rarely leaks (at night we use Huggies overnights). The box we get from Costco includes the pull-ups nighttime diapers and those are awful, so we just use them as day diapers.

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

AFM, I'm thinking of paying out of pocket for one of those "4D" ultrasounds. Has anyone ever got one done? Is it worth the $200+? Shop around. In my town, there is one purely elective place and another doctor's office that also does the elective scans. They are around $150. We can go to a...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

AMC, sorry your one-hour GTT came back abnormal. I took my three hour and passed, so hopefully you'll have the same outcome. Do you know exactly what your glucose level was? Re: PS Mommy thread with toddlers 12-36 months

Me again with a quick question. Do any of you give your toddlers a daily multivitamin or any supplements? Is that a good idea? Re: Do you ever get depressed on your birthday?

I definitely do. I think it's because I always really enjoyed my birthdays as a kid...but as an adult, they are just sort of blah. This last year it was on a Saturday and DH was working...so it was just like any other day. Oh, except we were moving so we packing as well.

Re: Getting ring off finger

Unfortunately, nothing worked. I tried a combination of methods and it just won't come off. I think the wrap method is more successful when the swelling is only due to, well, swelling, as opposed to actual fat. The "good" news is I called my jeweler (who made the ring) and they will cut it...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

I had my 24w appointment today. Everything looks good! I'm measuring about 3 weeks ahead, which isn't surprising given how huge I am. I got a lab slip for my glucose test and a bunch of other stuff.
