Re: New Britax Frontier 90!

Oh yeah, we got this seat a couple of weeks ago and LOVE it. TGuy is a carseat installation master (we have older blvds, marathons, and advocates) and he and I both were awed by how easy this was to install with a seat belt.

I give it two BIG thumbs up.

Re: Can you identify a cz from a diamond by the naked eye?

cheap mall stuff, yes, easily. Better stuff, from a distance, nope. Upon closer inspection, possibly. But I've seen plenty more diamonds than good CZs..only have seen one IRL.

Re: Are People Too Touchy-Feely These Days?

Kind of funny...but as I scrolled down, before I read the posts of each poster, I had a good sense of who were huggers and who weren't (based on their "personalities" here on PS.) I'm a hugger, but as I have gotten older, I'm much more mindful of who I hug in case they aren't comfortable w...

Re: Would You Rather Be Smart or Beautiful?

Neither? I'd rather be charming...gets you further in just about everything. :cheeky: A colleague of mine was once asked the question, what would you wish to be if you could only pick one? Rich, smart, or handsome? He said, "I'd want to be rich. When you're rich, men think you're smart and wome...

Re: Show me your DREAM ring!

I wouldn't say no to a ginormous pink diamond ring, like the ones posted - but the problem is that those "dream" rings, I would rarely feel comfortable actually wearing! I think I got my dream ring with my three stone. It's everything I've learned and loved on PS translated into one proje...

Re: Just purchased a thin eternity band from LOGR.... opinio

The base price is $249, but for a 5.5 sized band, it goes up to $289, which is understandable.. Anyway, I will still be on the lookout, and you are all right, anywhere around $350 is pretty reasonable. TravelingGal, Can you post a link to it? My ring size is 5.5. It was a one off - private seller. ...

Re: Just purchased a thin eternity band from LOGR.... opinio

The diamond look dull not only because of the clarity but also because of the cut quality. I think if you increased your budget to about $600 you could likely find a used brand name on ebay if you looked, or on preloved perhaps. If you're not in a hurry, I'd agree with this, and don't settle unless...

Re: 1 year, $25k, go!

I hear ya justginger. ;)) If that happened to me, obviously I couldn't run off and do what I wanted, kid and all - but if I were sans child and were financially in a good place (like you) - I'd go where the wind took me. Re: Hand forged vintage setting designers?

I an not understanding why the appraisal value matters. With that said, appraisal value for a setting is usually driven by metal weight, metal type, amount and quality of diamonds, and brand name. All of these factors also contribute to what you are paying. I have some comments on the design and wi...

My fave ones of my ring are still the ones that Mara took on her finger! Plus one more I never posted of all the colors the ring threw off when I was in a darker place for dinner.

Re: Seattle ladies - recommendations for a day?

I go to Seattle frequently on business. Pike Place market is cool.

Some cool restaurants:

Book Bindery
Dahlia's Lounge
Barolo

There is a cool vintage jewelry place and I mentioned it somewhere on PS, but I can't remember the name. Will try to look it up later. It's downtown.

Re: Smartphones And Your Marriage

TGuy and I have a mutual strong dislike of people are ruled by their phones, so it's not an issue for us at all. We never have our phones out at restaurants when we go out (every Thursday night is still date night) and the more we see people and families ruled by it, the more luddite we get. The onl...

Re: Wow, Can Leon be Any More Unprofessional?

They're humourists these jewelers. Leon appears to love irony - apparently you "sell' your brand of old world charm cushion in the most charmless fashion imaginable. While Jon sells me one of his scrumptious .37 AVR diamonds, that I'm using as the main stone for a gorgeous ring, under the chee...
