Re: What shows have you recently binge watched?

Lots of people posted what they like on the Netflix thread. My most recent was "Wentworth" and "Nurse Jackie." I like the binge on one series before I move on.

Re: Poll: wisdom teeth removal

I had all three of mine out (only had three) when I was in college. They were all impacted.

Re: Is it okay to publicly shame people into voting?

It is not okay to shame people into anything. Well I might be OK with shaming them into picking up their litter that they throw on the ground or picking up their animal poop they leave on the sidewalk. I'm OK with that kind of shaming. After asking nicely first to please pick up after themselves. B...

Re: Is it okay to publicly shame people into voting?

Tacori, I am interested in your thoughts on shaming drunk drivers! I just saw this show up on my FB news sidebar and it reminded me of this thread and your position on shaming (which I do not disagree with--but it's such an interesting topic). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb2VXVmUga4 I don't lov...

Re: Was expecting a thank-you out of line?

I didn't read all the replies so I apologize if I am repeating. While I think it is always nice to receive a thank you, it does not sound like she is able to meet those needs. Hurt people, hurt people. When people are going through a rough time, they have tunnel vision. It was so thoughtful for you ...

Re: Hidden Netflix Gem Thread

Monnie, I mentioned "Advanced Style" a while back. I loved all those. It is so fun and feel good. I will have to check out the ones I haven't watched on your list. I also love food movies.

Re: HOA meeting and prayer that ends with "in Jesus' name"

As someone who is a religious minority, I hate the "tolerance goes both ways" argument. I actually don't know if I have ever heard a majority voice saying that. It is impossible to really know what being in the minority is until you have experienced it. If I was knowingly walking into a re...

No. I would never let me child to play a contact sport that could result in a TBI. I work in mental health and see the life long results of such injuries. No game is worth that IMHO.

Re: Hey Anti-Vaxers, take your kids to a chicken pox party

I vaccinate and know this will prevent shingles in the future. *IF* the vaccinate did not exist, I would consider it. Getting CP when you are 5 is MUCH safer than 35.

Re: When enough is enough - mental illness

The doctor at the hospital was working to get my son into a live in rehab center. During that time, my son sobered up and walked out. He decided he just needed therapy "and that his family will help him.". In other words, his addiction took over and he needed to drink. Feeling sad. I real...

Re: Is Forgiveness the Key to Forgetting?

For me it isn't about "forgiving," it is about acceptance. I can accept things without liking them. There is a lot of stuff that happens that people do not deserve and it would be impossible to like. Also letting go is really important. If I hold on to resentments, it only hurts me. I doub...
