Re: Please help if this is "well cut"

Hi All- I don't know a TON about diamonds but I was just about to put a deposit on this ring. By asking if its 'well cut' I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't cut poorly that it will appear a lot smaller than it really was and also that it catches light by being sparkly. Initially, I was just t...

Re: Please help if this is "well cut"

Hi Kenny,
I am having a hard time understanding the HCA tool results that I pulled myself. Can you please help explain more? Does this mean the diamond will not be as sparkly? Will it appear smaller than it is? What exactly does the 3.5 score mean? Thanks again!

Re: F IF vs G VS1

Great! Thank you...that's what I thought all along. To be honest, I didn't even consider F and IFs because I would have had to go significantly lower on size + pay more premium on the price. As for the dimensions, I don't have it yet. Still waiting to receive it. Will follow up. Thanks again! Actual...

F IF vs G VS1

Hi All, Would appreciate some more insight on this topic....I looked at 2 round brilliant stones this weekend (still awaiting GIA). One was 1.12 F IF a lil bit outside my price range and the other was 1.19 G VS1 both triple excellent. However, I noticed the F IF looked significantly larger than the ...

Re: Feedback on this diamond

Thanks, guys. I have not seen the pics or actual stone and will have to wait a few more days. Can someone help me with the measurement portion? I know my gf really liked the size of a 1.35carat she tried on but since this is 1.29 I figured it will be close enough. Is this something you guys can conf...

Carat Size Question

Hi All, I have been in search of a round brilliant H VS1 1.35-1.4 ring for awhile now. My jeweler currently found a 1.29 H VS1 round triple excellent ring at a great price. I am almost ready to commit to this but would like your opinion on the size. My gf prefers (based on what she's tried on) 1.35-...

Price Negotiation

Do places like Tiffany, Cartier and De Beers offer price negotiation on what they initially quote you? I found a beautiful ring but is right at the max of my budget prior to tax. I do not want to ship it tax free out of state either.

Thanks.

Re: F or G Color?

Hi Lomi, Thank you for the reply. You are right. Your ring looks beautiful. It is a difference of going from 1.2-1.4. If it were up to me, I will definitely go for the better 'spec' / 'color' F but I know my gf prefers her rock to be closer to the 1.5c range so that is why I am considering choosing ...

Re: Too Good to Be True Price

Hi All, Thank you for the prompt response. I will get a copy of the GIA but it is a VS2 due to one small inclusion right at the center of the diamond. This could be 'what's wrong' or driving the price down. Does anyone have any expertise as how inclusion location affects the sparkle/beauty of the di...

Too Good to Be True Price

Hello, I have received a price quote for a 1.7 round brilliant F VS2 Triple Excellent ring for $18k. This is a very good price however I am concerned since I have been told this is almost too good to be true. The seller provided a GIA certificate but it is a photocopy version. I validated the GIA # ...

F or G Color?

Can anyone help me out on determining if its worth to sacrifice a carat weight to go from G to F? Assuming the diamond is both round brilliant triple excellent VS2, in order to stay within my budget I will have to get my gf a smaller carat weight ring. Is the upgrade to F worth the tradeoff? I know ...
