UK Pearl Retailers

Hi Folks I'm a little out of my depth when it comes to pearls. (There's a pun in there somewhere I'm sure...) Diamonds are more my thing! I'm looking for a pair of lower end pearl earrings from a UK supplier as a gift. Price around £80. Can anyone recommend some decent and trustworthy sites/jeweller...

Customs do have the power to open packages entering the country if there is a problem with the paperwork or similar reason. Usually this relates to packages coming in via Royal Mail, but I imagine it extends to FedEx and other courier services. This is pretty rare though. There will always be paperw...

Scores very well on the HCA. My concerns would be the EGL cert and the SI3. Can you find out exactly which EGL lab it was?

I agree with Lorelei, there are better stones out there. I''d also stick to AGS or GIA certs. Have you considered buying online? I''d imagine you''d get more diamond for your money... If you''re not happy buying online, just keep posting about the stones you look at and the Pricescopers will give yo...

Pretty much summed up in the previous responses. All I can add is that when my girlfriend''s White Flash ring was sent to London using FedEx, they called me when the ring arrived at the airport to arrange payment before sending the ring out for delivery. I paid with a debit card over the phone.

Saphire, I wouldn''t trust that salesperson at all. DiamondExpert gives great advice, take some time to learn about stones first. If you find anything you like, post about it here for honest opinions. I know I''ve learned a ton from this forum and feel I won''t ever get ripped off on a diamond purch...

For a design like that I don''t think it will make any difference. Price will probably be the biggest factor.

A great way to avoid a shot blurred by motion (especially caused when you''re pressing the button) is to rest the camera on something (or use a tripod) then use the timer function to take the shot.
