Re: Antique collector-what is the best course of education??
Very interesting question! I know you can take courses through GIA... but I'm not sure that those deal with vintage pieces. I hope someone can give you good advice. I'm curious about the PSer who started an ebay store... could you link me to that thread? I have an Etsy store that I used to sell my ... |

Antique collector-what is the best course of education???
Hi all, I have started an etsy store selling off some of my antique jewelry, deciding it ehte . Well 'listing'' might be more honest than selling as I have sold very little at this point. (Note, i know there was a big hubub about a pricescoper starting an ebay store recently. I wlll talk to the powe... |

Opinions on enamel and coral brooch and help with a hallmark
Ok so I recently bought this brooch (intricate enamel, red coral no authenticity testing done yet). Loooove it. Unique and cant seem to decide if Art Deco, Arts and Crafts or Nouveau. There is a diamond hallmark horribly degraded but i am dying to find out who made the piece. the diamond hallmark to... |

HIIIII SARAH! ATTN PS: this is one of my IN REAL LIFE friends. Her ring is totally gorgeous. I mean, not that I don't have a well-known bias for sapphires or anything. Re: New to PS--Wedding band question
Absolutely WOOW!!  I have to ask, where did you get your wedding band? It reminds me of one I will never forget, an antique Tiffany and Co that Lang Antiques carried for all of about 4 minutes. PS. I meant to ask who made your setting, but had the wedding band question on the brain. |

I am super curious to see one of these in person.... looks like they are fairly soft, but are they really as spectacular as a blue diamond? http://www.capistranomining.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=815 |

Re: My new Luk-Yen Blue Spinel
http://www.pricescope.com/files/images/two_stone_ring.jpg Hi Chris, When I mentioned that I think you should cut a diamond in the same shape as your spinel, this is what I had in mind, albeit a masculine version. Re: Opinions on a sleepy mahenge
Thanks! Defiantly has silk, but in most lighting it doesn't affect the see-across-the-room scintillation. the other sleepy stone i have has the inner glow but none of the flash this one shows. The orange zoning is hard to find unless you try to find it. |

Re: Opinions on a sleepy mahenge
so yes way more like the video but way more neony pink. the video gave it a dull waxy look and the closest it comes to being that dull is when it flattens out in bad light, but it is still bright neon pink, the first attached a pick is dreary incandescent light (my closet). the second is natural lig... |

Re: Opinions on a sleepy mahenge
Got it. I ordered three spinels from multicolour. One was accurately represented in the photo and video, one was over represented (very much a purple stone rather than the cherry red it appeared to be in the photos.), and the sleepy spinel was under represented. I was absolutely shocked to see how g... |

Re: Opinions on a sleepy mahenge
Dana is a man! ;) I find Swala's photos always show a much more vivid stone so put that one behind you and don't worry about it! Does that make you feel better? :D  oops. i actually know Dana is a guy. I dont know why I 'her'd' him. Must be subconscious because i know a 'her-Dana'. Sorry Dana.... |

Opinions on a sleepy mahenge
Can I get some opinions on a sleepy spinel? i've watched this video several times and i honestly don't know if i love it or am apathetic about it. i like unusual stones and i could write off the zoning as 'special' if this were a bright stone. i know that sleepy stones aren't for everyone but i do l... |

Re: My Sapphire and Diamond Halo Ring
It's great that you had the opportunity to look at many sapphires before making your choice. That's the best way to shop because it can be difficult to realize exactly what you want if you've only seen 2 or 3 stones. How much honesty are you asking for? At this point, it is really too late to retur... |
