Logan, I did make house calls and hope to again some day. and believe Mia does too, but we are on the left coast. Hi Mia, I'm a bit rusty as I haven't worked in a while, so glad you chimed in! This makes me miss work! I hope you are well. Sorry for the hijack, Bella. Tantrums are hard. Sometimes when Jane throws one I want to join in. |

Re: Tantrums***need advice***
Given the special circumstances I would respond by making the space he is in as quiet as possible, perhaps even dimming lights to create a calm environment, I would stop what I was doing and sit down quietly near but not with him and let him ride it out. I would save all talking and affection until ... |

Re: Any baby wearing parents here?
I don't ascribe to any particular parenting style, I just do what works for us, and that is ever changing. I used the Bjorn for a while, hated it as it hurt my back as well, then switched to an ergo. My daughter is two and I still use it when we walk to dinner, the farmer's market, or any busy place... |

Re: Do you object to this Time magazine cover?
I breastfed my daugher for 16 months, coslept for the first six months of her life, "wore" her and probably a few other things that are considered attachment parenting, although it isn't because I read Sears books and aspired to be a detain kind of parent. I did what worked for us as a fam... |

Re: From working to SAHM??
I completed my MEd, with the student loans to prove it, and was pregnant with my daughter six months later. Re: Lets talk maternity clothing....
Yo have some great suggestions for clothing, so I'll just add not to purchase nursing bras until 7-10 days post delivery. Your milk will come in after baby is born, typically and your cup size can change. I'm do glad I waited as. I would have had to go shopping twice for nursing bras |

Re: A Daycare WWYD and Toddler Behavior
LV, I started time it's around 22 months, and then only for acts of physical aggression. I waited until I knew she understood hitting meant stopping whatever she was doing and taking a break. At 25 months I've only used time outs for that reason. My girl is extremely timid around other kids and a sw... |

Re: A Daycare WWYD and Toddler Behavior
Because I'm no nonsense about physical inapprpriateness if my daughter pushed I'd want her placed in some sort of time out immediately. I sang You Are My Sunshine to my daughter every night before bed while pregnant, then started singing other dogs to her after she was born, she still reacts to that song differently than any other at age two. Re: Do all parents think their kids are cute?
A dear friend delivered her daughter two months early, a redhead covered in down. He mother was the first to affectionately refer to her as The Orangutan, poor girl. The last time we got together we went to the zoo, and there was a baby orangutan, she laughed and said "look it's a baby L!" |

Re: What to do in San Diego with a 15 month old?
I have not heard great things about Legoland. The zoo and Balboa Park (which is where the zoo is) are great. There's a Children's Museum downtown. I'd plan on lots of beach time. There is a great little bay in Poont Loma, quiet, clean, calm water. I can give you directions if you are interested. |
