Re: Trying to replace lost engagement ring

I believe Tacori made that ring (or one very similar), I remember admiring the version with sapphire center stones years ago at BB&B. I'd contact Tacori and if they can't help, perhaps someone can make a custom setting for you.

Re: If a diamond is set crooked...& other woes

Just thinking about your process and the amount of time you've spent selecting the perfect stone. I think you just need to go for the ACA stones and a hand-forged setting.

Re: 4th Annual Pricescope GTG in Las Vegas!

Can you confirm mine as well, please? Also, my name has changed and I can't remember if I used my maiden name on the RSVP or married.

Re: Would you work in jewelry full time?

I would totally consider retail if I were looking to get out of my current career (i.e., we didn't need the money and I was just doing it for fun). I would either want to work for a independent or high end store. I don't think I could do a maul store.

Re: D FL/IF worth it?

My ering is an 1.62ct E IF. While I love it, I wish my DH had gone down in clarity/color and up in size. It's an asscher, so it faces up small. Even DH has said he wishes it faced up larger :(

Re: Post pregnancy ring size

I wouldn't do anything for at least 18mo post partum. My fingers are at least 1/2 size smaller now. It took me 18mo to lose my baby weight.

Re: When did you start taking your kids out to eat?

I think we had DS with us at our favorite diner around 2 weeks? But that was with one. I'm not sure I'd want to wrangle two toddlers in a restaurant together, but DS is a great public diner. Obviously he has his moments, but for the most part we can take him with us without issue. Note, we're not ta...

Re: Home selling help please.

My husband and I just this week decided to start prepping our house to put on the market. He knows if we don't move soon then I'm never going to want to leave. I've totally bonded with our home. I love the color "creamy mushroom", is by Behr and it's a lovely light greige. It's lovely in b...

Re: Looking for aquamarine for something blue

I just did a quick check of ebay and did not see an example... It might be pricey if you can find it, but also check out Mt. Antero Aquamarine as a possibility. I just cut a piece that was approaching sapphire blue (no, I do not have any of that material left, so don't ask and the mods would kill m...

Re: Veggie gardens

I'm planning on building a few raised beds this year and I'll do the usual- basil, rosemary, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, peas, maybe green beans, and I want to do a bunch of cauliflower, broccoli and brussels. Maybe some lettuce as well. I planted two blueberries last year, so we'll see how they ...

Re: Bench Jeweler in the NE

Unfortunately, Daniel M is not in the class that bgray is talking about. Very few actually fit into her category ... not in the US let along in NE. I have been searching high and low ... I think I found someone that I would group into the category. Untested so I am not going to share. For small pro...

Re: Bench Jeweler in the NE

I believe Daniel M is out of the Boston area. You can find him on etsy, just search for "Daniel M" in the search bar. If my memory serves, he does bench work for Long's in Boston (I could be totally delusional, though).

Re: Bench Jeweler in the NE

I just requested a quote from them a week ago. They came in $1k higher then ERD, Mark Broumard, and Erica and Grace (formerly of Jewels by Erica Grace). He was well into Canera/Kirsch price range. I also didn't care for the lack of finished product images on his website. All he posts are CAD images....

Re: Show me your biggest jewelry purchase regret!

I purchased a .80ct OEC in a BGD Barbara setting on LT last year and it's got a horrible fish eye :( It faces up huge and I still wear it. The only regret is that I hadn't really looked at the stone more closely. But it was an impulse buy and the price was good. I doubt I could have afforded a bette...

Re: Bad idea?

I agree with the others that the timing might impose on the couple's day. But perhaps you can set things up so you propose later in the evening after the wedding, when you two are alone? You can still ask the bride and groom to throw it to her (just tell them you're not proposing AT the wedding) and...

We're not permitted to post email addresses. He's also on FB, you could try messaging him that way, or call his shop directly.

He can make whatever you want, so while this exact design may not be in his gallery, he can likely make it. Quality will be close if not better than Leon.

Re: Does anyone have a Tacori #49rd65

Lovey ring. It may be a discontinued style. Have you considered having your setting custom made? Check out the following vendors, they can design/make the ring AND source the center stone for you:

Victor Canera
Steven Kirsch
Leon Mege
Brian Gavin Diamonds

Re: How to trade up my diamond or resell?

That's good.

The vendor your purchased it from doesn't offer upgrades? I'd consider listing it on LoupeTroop or Diamond Bistro, and then put a listing in the PS Preloved forum with a link to your listings.

Yes, I think you are limiting yourself by staying local. I'd put Victor Canera on your list. He's in LA, but he's totally legit and great to work with.

High end jewelry stores don't intimidate me. I consider them to be like museums. I have no interest in high-end fashion boutiques, though. Blegh. I'd rather browse at Saks.
