Re: Are K stones bad??

I do wish you'd ask us for recommendations on JA. All of them are underwhelming performers. I wouldn't buy any of them.

K is fine. Performance is what matters. You picked duds.

Re: Trying to learn...whats the difference in these two?

EGL was kicked out of rapnet. Also people are suing over EGL's inaccuracy as fraud.

Re: Is this cushion diamond any good?

RD, you don't believe in tools that quantify performance. But they do exist. And an ASET is one of them. Crushed ice faceting rarely performs well using quantifiable methods that can be repeated (science!). And the fact that 5th avenue stores carry such stones is irrelevant. They carry other poorly ...

Re: Is this cushion diamond any good?

It's a busy unorganized facet pattern that usually has underwhelming performance. That's why most people do NOT like it.

Generic radiants typically have crushed ice faceting. And most people who want cushions want them to look like cushions (like the Tiffany Novo), not like radiants .

Re: Which of these two for a Halo setting I vs G (pics)

Also please post their dimensions. You don't really compare cushions based on carat weight you do it via the dimensions. He has the dimensions in the original post. The .92 is ever so slightly larger than the one on the left. Plus it is cut to ideal light performance. I don't think he can beat this...

Re: Thoughts on this RB diamond from Ritani?

The numbers are in a good range. And it looks nice from the image. If it is a eyeclean, then it is a potentially nice selection.

Re: Which of these two for a Halo setting I vs G (pics)

If your lady wants a modern cushion I wouldn't get her an antique style one. But the antique style stone DS picked is lovely. I adore the I stone, because those Mark T cushions are my favorite. I can't tell you which to buy though, because you have to ASET for the G. And we really need that to be ab...

Re: Is this cushion diamond any good?

Lab reports tell you very little about cushions. You need images and an ASET. That said, the facet pattern for this one is a 'crushed ice" facet pattern, so I would pass on it. Very few of those are good performers. These threads should help you. Read them carefully and follow the links posted:...

The numbers on the HRD stone are quite good.

Also HRD is one of the respected other labs. If you've seen it in person and liked it, I think it's a great choice.

Re: First Time Buyer- Help

JA only had rectangular stones that were worth looking at.

B2C didn't have anything either.

I like the GOG stone that was posted for you.

Call Brilliantly Engaged and have them source you a nice modern cushion. They provide great customer service and ASET images and videos.

Re: Still in the search.. Advices please. For Cushion

What is your budget? The first one is okay and I do not like the second one. You can do better. This ASET has a lot more red and the stone is larger for the weight, too: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12572/ They have access to many more and may be able to find you a better cut one (most of the...

Re: Cushion Cut Help!

I really wish you had picked that D I posted for you. It's an uncommonly nice stone.

I love the GOG H VVS in the video. It's a lovely stone.

No I wouldn't go to I unless you have to. Your budget is good enough to afford higher color.
