I am glad. I consider you a friend and that's all I mean by it. That I like you.

Re: Calling me "Hon." Is there a protocol?

Oh, and I am in the Bay Area in CA and get called "hon" all the time-- at least once a week. By men AND women. Granted the men are usually gay, or very metro. But... doesn't bother me and I barely even notice it anymore. Although, when men call my husband "hon" I do find it funny...

Re: Calling me "Hon." Is there a protocol?

Housecat, One of my cousin's wives used to always call me honey, right from the first day we met. And it always sounded so phony to me. Like she was trying to show that we were closer than we were, to her husband. "See how well I get along with ALL you family" type thing. But then I got to...

Re: Calling me "Hon." Is there a protocol?

I use hon or honey sometimes. It slips out. I'm 39. If the person is older than me it's usually when I am trying to be especially nice or empathetic AND I delivering bad news and/or disagreeing with them. I'm not trying to be rude or condescending when I do it... quite the opposite. But if I use wit...

Re: "Wood" tile floors

Thanks Gypsy! I will look into that. I have never thought of that color, and I have to say I am not really drawn to it. That is not to say that it wont be just the perfect thing- it's just not a color I would have thought of! After reading about all the struggles you have been going through, I star...

Yes, lol...I meant $1,000 - sorry. This did not include re-setting the ring; he suggested that it would be best if it wasn't reset and said they were interested in tendering me an offer for the stone. i told them I wanted it reset, they would like to see some pics of the ring. *The GIA certificatio...

Re: Calling Gypsy/DiamondSeeker - Round 2 of EC Search

I'm with you DS. The one worry I had about the stone was head on all the facets would turn off at the same time, and that does happen on the video. But the video set up, with the stone on it's side like that and it going round and round is different. I would put what Mark, etc. say about it above th...

Re: Is Capetown a good place to live?

Tekkie, that was amazing. Now I want to move there! I've been trying to get DH to agree to move to Australia for years. No go (for ridiculous reasons too). I doubt I'd get him to agree to Capetown, but other than the crime it sounds heavenly. And I suspect that even with the crime... as long as you ...

re cork: cork is more porous, even flooring cork. Re: "Wood" tile floors

My problem has been finding a color that would go with medium brown cherry cabinets. I don't want to make the house too dark. I really do love the look of it though. Go for natural color. Like a natural maple or hickory color. Like this. Will look lovely with those cabinets. http://www.builddirect....

Re: "Wood" tile floors

Thank you Isaku, it's been a rough 12 months. If you were on FB I'd tell you more, but... on here that's all I feel comfortable saying. Personally if I were doing wood-look tile floors, I'd look into ones that come in two lengths so that you can have your installer do as random a pattern as possible...

Re: Help with ovals - with videos!

Hmm. That's a hard one.

:wavey:

I don't really know what to tell you. I am more inclined to go with the GOG recommendation. But I prefer the 1.7 from the video due to less bowtie.

But I find bowties crippling.

The girdle is not your problem with that. Ignore the vendor's cut score. It's meaningless. That is not a well performing cushion. And that's what you want. Re: "Hearts on Fire"? Help me pick something just as nice!

Now that we have established we are not looking for a stone "just as nice" as HoF (or better), I wanted to say that Gypsy has posted a stone that looks excellent (not super ideal, but looks like a beautiful diamond) and at a bargain price: https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/R225-...
