Re: Yes getting engaged, need help.

Since I just threw a lot at you, here's a short list: If you don't get that B2C G (first choice). My preference is for the BE H VS1 (second choice). Or the JA 60/60 1.01 H Si1 stone that is so budget friendly. The BE stone is up there because it's a great stone potentially and BE has the nicest sett...

Some other nice choices at James Allen: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.01-carat-h-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-378583 This is a lovely 60/60 style stone with great numbers. The 59% table is fine for this style of stone. Again, it's how the numbers work together. And this...

Other stones. http://www.brilliantlyengaged.com/1.10-carat-h-vs1-excellent-round-cut-diamond-gid-17705.html Crown angle is fine on this one. Still passes HCA because of other angles. And it is a VS1. Plus BE is a fantastic vendor. Just ask them for the diamond image and the Idealscope and they will ...

Re: Yes getting engaged, need help.

You are unlikely to get a one carat in that spec range in a hearts and arrows super ideal stone (I will look though). And you aren't getting close to those specs at Tiffany for that price. Maybe 12k would get you that at Tiffany. I can see you did a lot of research on the four C's. There's one C you...

Re: What would you pay for this!

Yeah, I feel it is an acquired taste item, so I was thinking lower price.

I will have to see if the retail price is a firm price or an inflated one meant to be discounted per Neil's advice.

Re: Halo melee size.

Prices change based on labor, metal and diamond costs. It is best to simply ask the vendor for a quote. With ERD/BE I suggest calling and following up after you send you email with the pictures.

Re: What would you pay for this!

Thank you Neil. I'll have to find a retailer and ask them about it. Those are great points. DS, I have offered to have me list it on LT or DB for her, or helping her set up an account and sell it for herself, either way. I have no idea what price to tell her to list it for though. I was hoping some ...

Re: If you were to upgrade your E-ring ...

Shape and size and lower clarity.

I'd go for a the largest cushion I could afford. I'd keep the color either colorless (I have an F) or go down to G.. possibly H.

Ideally I'd prefer an oval but DH doesn't like them.

Re: Please help me find a beautiful stone!

The vendors I linked you to will be honest. Are all vendors? No. But JA and B2C will tell you if a stone is eyeclean. The KEY is making sure your definition of eyeclean matches theirs. So make sure to ask that as well. I do prefer JA as a vendor, because they have the videos. The only stone at JA th...

1.3 is FULL one pointers. So 1.2 is going to be almost exactly like the first one above. If you want a different look, stop them and tell them you want smaller melee. This is the time to do it.

Re: Diamond by Lauren photography

Re: Is this a good choice for my engagement ring??

It's a very nice 60/60 style stone. It will favor white light a bit more over colored but since it has a nice crown height and a slightly smaller table it should be more balanced than most 60/60 style stones.
Please post IS when you have it.

Re: Please help me find a beautiful stone!

The entire purpose of faceting a diamond is to reflect light. How well or how poorly a diamond does this determines how beautiful it is. How well a diamond performs is determined by the angles and cutting. This is why we say cut is king. No other factor: not color, not clarity has as much of an impa...

Re: Please help me find a beautiful stone!

Hey Gypsy -- I noticed you picked out an AGS stone. I've only been looking at GIA, but I've seen EGL and similar. How reputable is AGS? Is there anything I should watch out for with an AGS rating? EGL- Bad. GIA- Great. AGS- Great if there is a lighting report (all those have lighting reports). Othe...
