Re: Looking for a Stone For an Existing Halo Setting.

As long as you stitch to GOG's AV line or their signature modern line, don't fret about what I've said about cushions. Those are all winners and there's not a bad one in the bunch. Best thing you can do is send your setting to GOG and they will be able to get back to you with stones that work best w...

Re: Leon Mege: IS images are BS?

Alright - I had a nice post composed about expert jewelers with opinion variances and conflicting recommendations all tied into a great analogy about cooking as an art, and baking as a science…(I even a included a great recipe for pie crust) And then after reviewing what Teobdl said, I realize he b...

Nope. No trade badge. Everything with Andrey's okay and approval.

Just an experiment. As a consumer.

Re: Still Ideal/excellent cut?

HCA is pass/fail. Any score 2 and under is as good as any. It's simply a predictor or performance. And is a rejection tool. That diamond is a pancake with a flat top though. You want a crown angle of 34 and over. And a pavilion of 41 and under. You also want a depth no greater than 62.4. And you nee...

Yeah, not the best performers. I've been sick so I haven't been around. But I wouldn't have sent any of those to ASET. http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.00-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-366958 This one will be available next week again, I actually have it right now. Re: Cushion Specialists - Urgent help needed please!

69% Depth is NOT a lot for a cushion cut such as the ones you are looking at. I think the Tiffany Novo stones tend to have a depth of between 68-72% too. Where are you getting that number from? Also depth in a vacuum is meaningless. And picking cushions by numbers is a mistake. Even disqualifying t...

Re: Toilet Lid Etiquette/Sanitation: Lid Down to Flush!

We put the lid down. Dh had read about this years ago, so when he shared it with me, lid down became the standard when flushing. As for what to tell guests. We have cats. So we do tell guests to please leave the lids down, just in case one of the cats gets a bright idea about the toilet water. No on...

Mediation only works if both sides agree. You do not agree to the IGI. Then propose back something else.

I wouldn't agree to IGI either.

Numbers are a terrible place to start with princesses. No one with any level of experience is going to tell you otherwise when it comes to princesses. Why don't you tell me what you want. And how much you want to pay. And I'll find some nice stones for you to chose from. Okay? Then you need pictures...

Re: Does anyone prefer the crushed ice look in cushions?

Crushed ice facets do not ASET well. Generally. Good ones. Bad ones. Don't get an ASET for that reason.

You really have to judge them with your eyes.

If you love your stone, enjoy it. It looks lovely, your ring.

Re: Need ADVICE, I think I find the one? (gia stone)

It's a 60/60 style stone with the minimal acceptable (IMO) crown angle. http://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/60-60-proportioned-diamond It will favor white light over colored. But will be a very nice stone. The reason that most prefer smaller tables is that they prefer Tolk style stones over 60/6...

Re: Please kindly advise on this stone!!!

Is there a cultural reason you are going with an E VS1?

Getting to 6mm is a good idea when you are buying an engagement ring.

What is your budget? Maybe we can find you a nice stone with very little compromise, but a bit more size.
