Re: Find a diamond for Me? Confused.

Gypsy, thank you  A month ago, I was in search of a diamond for engagement ring. I could not find a stone that fit my spec, even after I checked all vendors recommended by PS. Vendors recommended by PS have pure nice performance with super ideal proportions, no doubt about that, but most of ...

Well... you say you love warmth - what d'you mean by that? Could you post a couple of pictures of what you consider "warm" stones that you like the look of? I've got a variety of diamonds of different colours - E through light yellow - and to my eyes "warm" doesn't start until L...

Re: Find a diamond for Me? Confused.

Yssie, Gypsy post that many places. I think I've read that a hundred times. In another word, you're saying if customer need holding hands and babysitting, then use places such as BGD, James Allen, GOG, HPD, ERD and WF, as they already did all the holding hands and babysitting for the customers. But...

Callie honey. HUGE HUGE HUGE Hugs and... I think you are an amazing woman. I'm so sorry you were victimized by a predator. But so happy you are here on PS and that you are brave enough to share your experiences and advocate. You are an inspiration.

Re: What happen to all the professional jewelers on PriceSco

I don't know if they would prohibit that. Yes, vendors can't comment on specific stones. But a general discussion by appraisers of their impressions and experience I think would be allowed. Certainly, all an appraiser would have to do is message Andrey or Ella and ask if it is okay. I've done that m...

Re: What happen to all the professional jewelers on PriceSco

Lately it seems inevitable that every last discussion thread devolves into puerile argument of whether or not there's merit to the statement that ORCs are brilliant, regardless of the topic originally posed - so I'm just going to reply to the one I originally wanted to respond to: I have cut way ba...

Re: Marble Countertops?

I have seen some GORGEOUS white marble and white granite slabs. For me it's a matter of cost. The white granite slabs I like are like CRAZY expensive. And a nice white marble Carrera slab out here is much more affordable. I know Neatfreak has marble counters in her last house and loved them. I do ha...

Re: How much SHOULD this house cost?

Distracts: Where in that area should I be looking? DH is very set on good schools and we might adopt. And it is likely I would be working in Richardson or Plano. =) If you would likely be working in Richardson or Plano, then both of those are obviously good options. As the suburbs have crept out, P...

Re: To split shank or not split shank, that is the ?

We all want it all. Most of us can't have it. I like your ring as is. It's very classic. But I understand wanting a change. That said, a nice RHR can be a great distraction.

Another option for some is an upgrade of the center stone.

Re: Cut of colored diamonds - educate me

Pink sapphires would be an option. FYI. They will sparkle, but not like a diamond. They are a great choice for a ring stone as they are a 9 on the MOHs scale. And you NEED hardness for an engagement ring. I wouldn't go any softer than that. Have you considered a three stone with small pink sidestone...

Re: Cut of colored diamonds - educate me

We have a colored stone forum: http://www.pricescope.com/forum/colored-stones/ That's where the colored stone guru's are. I will say this. CUT is NOT king with colored stones. Color is King. Faceting is important but not so much for light return, but to avoid issues like windowing. Also important ar...

Re: 2 Oval Stones

Can you get GOG to make you a video? With ovals you need more than just the IS and the ASET. Also make sure you compare SPREAD (dimensions) not carat weight with fancies (not rounds). I am going to assume you budget is around 15k. Here are some nice ovals I found, since JA seems to have a good selec...

Re: Any info/experience with Joseph Schubach?

I have dealt with JS in the past (a few years ago) and they were far more customer oriented and price competitive back then as compared to now. I will not use them again as I have found a stellar jeweler that surpasses them by leaps and bounds in all areas! Hi and welcome to PS! Are you a vendor? I...

Re: Find a diamond for Me? Confused.

The entire purpose of faceting a diamond is to reflect light. How well or how poorly a diamond does this determines how beautiful it is. How well a diamond performs is determined by the angles and cutting. This is why we say cut is king. No other factor: not color, not clarity has as much of an impa...

Re: To split shank or not split shank, that is the ?

It's lovely. I wouldn't halo it personally. I think it's just right on your hand. I'd go for Charmy's exact ring if you want a change. But you say you are suffering from DSS. It's a great sized stone. I personally don't believe in sinking too much money into one piece (I did two resets myself, but I...

What are the inclusions (in order off the lab report) of the last SI2? I do really like that stone.

I'd eliminate the cushion too, unless you ADORE cushions and want one.
