Re: Experience with Sleeping Pills?

Ambien has been a lifesaver. Nothing was going to break the back of that acute insomnia after being up in the night sick for a few weeks. Having been able to sleep, my sore throat is almost gone and my days are twice as long now that I go to sleep at 10.30pm instead of 5am. Thank God for a little e...

Only one of your picks worth following up on is this one: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.91-carat-f-color-vs1-clarity-sku-251054 Others worth consideration in budget if they are eyeclean. NONE of these are crushed ice. http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.05...

Re: Another "What Would You Do?" Thread (Racism)

I don't think the doing the 'right thing' is a matter of doing 'what feels right to you.' Those are two very different things in my mind. I believe in many cases, especially in ones like racism, there is an absolute right and wrong. What does that mean? Unless it exposes you to a real threat of harm...

It'll be pretty square. Set it North/South . Elongated shapes are very flattering on the hand.

Re: Experience with Sleeping Pills?

Vapid, 50mg of trazadone is less "heavy" according to my doctor than ativan (lorazepam) or xanax. And not habit forming for most, including me. I've been taking it for years on and off and can easily go without. It is actually what my (new) doctor perscribed after my old (terrible) doctor ...

Re: Another "What Would You Do?" Thread (Racism)

I agree with Gyspy. If we turn a blind eye when bad things are happening we are guilty too. Remember that famous ‎Martin Niemöller quote. We are all in this together and cannot let ignorance and evil prevail. Gypsy I love your motto. And I feel the same way. That's exactly how I feel Missy. As for ...

I'd say something and I wouldn't give a rats arse what anyone said about me behind my back or to my face as a result of it. But then, if you know me at all, that answer doesn't surprise you. My SIL posted something incredibly ignorant the other day. I replied to her post with "that is inaccurat...

Re: Experience with Sleeping Pills?

Ativan for sleep, short term, IF the reason you aren't sleeping is anxiety is good too. but that stuff is addictive as all get out, so you have to be SUPER careful about it. The important things are: WHY aren't you sleeping? Anxiety, or some other reason? Is it FALLING asleep you are having problems...

Re: Experience with Sleeping Pills?

Yes. Lots of experience. All bad. Seriously. Ambien caused me to get into a car accident because the side effects are: daytime drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, feeling "drugged" or light-headed; tired feeling, loss of coordination. Caused my mom and husband to have waking dreams where they...

Re: Thank you gift for an awesome jeweler

Best thank you gift, IMO, in situations like this is usually a good review on several websites (here, yelp, etc.).

If you want to do something on top of that, I'd do something like an Edible Arrangements and send to the office. That way a lot of people can have a bite.

Re: What's your favorite online clothing store?

I like Nordstroms. They price match. The shipping is free. I can return in store. They have honest reviews. And their customer service is awesome. Can't beat it, IMO. Except it is expensive. I also like Off Saks and the Neiman Marcus outlet and the Nordstrom Rack site. Other than that? Ebay. I reall...

Re: Help me find some things (design), please

Oh you see those wood/wicker storage cubes? Those would be PERFECT in your space. That's what I meant about wood tone accents.

Can you return the white frames and get some wood ones? Or just add a few wood ones in?

Re: Help me find some things (design), please

Re: Loop rugs. We had two dogs and they managed to totally trash a loop rug in 1 month. And that's with little trimmings and upkeep daily as I loved that rug. Maybe it's because dogs claws are so much bigger than cats? Since then (our dogs have passed) I have bought a cut loop rug for the bathroom (...

Re: Help me find some things (design), please

I also think you might want to consider warming up the space with a few wood finished pieces at eye level in a medium wood tone like some picture frames that are wood. And maybe some accents that are wood as well. The space feels cold and a bit clinical and the warmth of the hardwood floors is getti...

Re: Help me find some things (design), please

I would avoid anything shag for a rug. Just trust me. I had a shag rug for years in the living room. But even with the best vacuum you HAVE to take it outside and beat it if you want it clean. And I wouldn't want one in a nursery. You would be surprised just how painful it is to step on baby/kids/ca...

Re: Do you buy secondhand clothing/purses/shoes/accessories?

I've been to that Last Chance! I got a GORGEOUS Brahmin Bag there for super cheap (50 bucks!) that was new... I swear I could not find a fault with it. It's so interesting to hear other's thoughts on this subject. There's so much taboo about it for some, and so much joy for others. Very fascinating....

YAY! So glad others have had good experiences with this. I am not a brand name person. But I do like quality, and there are some brands, like Burberry, which delivery a lot of quality. Do you buy secondhand clothing/purses/shoes/accessories?

So, my mother, when I was young was HORRIFIED at the thought of my buying anything second hand. Seriously. My grandfather used to go to garage sales and buy second hand furniture (not upholstered pieces, but wood, which was what he liked). And I'd go browse with him. And I brought home a used someth...
