Yup. Here's some additional reading: ON COLOR: It is important to remember is that color is graded FACE DOWN. Where there is NO light return. Not face up where there is light return and refraction. You wear diamonds set. FACE UP. Within one color grade, even the labs can't agree on the color grades ...

Re: Diamond Advice

I wouldn't order a pave setting from any but a few vendors. Quality REALLY matters with pave (let me know if you want further reading on this). Does she want a pave solitaire or a pave halo? WF has several nice pave solitaires. And so does BGD. Pave halos are a slightly different kettle of fish. Not...

Something like these is a better choice. Did you ask Wink?

Also, ask that vendor for the pictures of the hallmarks.

Re: Diamond Advice

It's a potentially nice stone. Unless you are looking at such high clarity for cultural reasons you are wasting your money. The 36 crown angle needs and idealscope to check for leakage. So if they don't get you one, it's a pass. What is your budget? And what type of setting do you want? There are li...

Re: I've reached the end of the internet and still no ring.

The issue with the flush fit band is the low profile requirement. You can't really have a stable large halo design AND a flush fit band AND low profile. So it's either the low profile or the flush fit band .

Re: I've reached the end of the internet and still no ring.

I love the Seville halo. I think it's a standalone and will look amazing with a 1.5 carat stone. The CVB ring is nice too, also a standalone. And I think I'd prefer it with a 1.5 carat stone. I personally prefer the Seville one in terms of style. The gallery of many halos can be made to fit a comple...

Any geneticists? Or Virologist? Techinical issue assistance.

Hi. I'm helping a friend who is a writer.

She needs to run a few things by someone who actually does this kind of work.

Does anyone do this work?

Assistance is appreciated.

Re: Urgent Advise request

Cushions are really the only shapes that can match rounds for performance. Mostly because of their popularity right now and the availability of well cut stones. If it's for you, then I recommend you go out and try on a little of everything and see what appeals to you ON YOUR HAND. I've been on here ...

How about a three stone?

A round diamond center with heart sidestones?

Re: Urgent Advise request

Do not get a round in a cushion halo for someone who has specifically requested a cushion diamond.

People who like fancies are NOT happy with rounds. If they were they would have said "get me a round".

What does the wearer specifically want?

Erica Winters. I'd go for a warmer antique faceted stone in one of her settings. Examples: (I would also call Adam at Old World diamonds and tell him you have an 11K budget for an OEC at 1.5 carats and see what he can find you). https://www.victorcanera.com/diamonds/xje85q-1.504-k-vs1-ideal-estimate...

Re: HELP! Which diamond should we go with??

The entire purpose of faceting a diamond is to reflect light. How well or how poorly a diamond does this determines how beautiful it is. How well a diamond performs is determined by the proportions and the faceting. This is why we say cut is king. No other factor: not color, not clarity has as much ...

Re: 5 or 7 pointer band with 3 stone ring- Need Opinions Ple

If your ring is at BGD ask them to photograph it with the Dream band with 5 pointers. 9 five pointers would be the max. I think you have to see them together to see what you like.

Let's start here. What is your budget (give us your stone budget in USD, EXCLUDING taxes, VAT, whatever) for a diamond. We'll find you a G Si1 or better diamond for that budget and we'll go from there. It doesn't hurt for you to see what we can find you. And then you look at that, and compare it, an...

Re: OEC: vintage-cut vs modern

I have a more holistic view with old cuts. If I like the faceting and the crown has a nice height (which this one does) I don't get too hung up on the numbers. A 54 table is fine with me. Do I prefer smaller tables? It depends on the stone as a whole there too.
