Re: Help with 2 ct oval!

I don't love any of the stones already posted from JA. Of the ones already recommended, this is the only one I would pursue: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/oval-cut/2.02-carat-f-color-vs1-clarity-sku-327264 Other stones at JA that I think have potential. http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-dia...

Re: Help with 2 ct oval!

Some basic knowledge for you: You buy ovals by spread not carat weight. So the GOG G stone I posted for you is: Width: 7.26mm Length:10.11mm. And the D stone I posted is: Width:10.16mm Length: 7.13mm. That's what you compare. Not carat wieight. Any spread difference greater than .2 is eyevisible any...

Re: Help with 2 ct oval!

Ok. That's easy. Buy this: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11706/ Gorgeous oval. ASET is posted and it shows very strong performance. Just make sure it is eyeclean. Or this: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10445/   AMAZING performance on that ASET. GOG will make a video of the two ...

Re: Marquise quest & questions (on e-ring purchase process)

I do have a plain shank halo. It was a stylistic choice AND a practical one. I promised my husband I'd never upgrade my stone and asschers face up small for their carat weight. But I have unlimited re-set rights. (Can you tell I negotiate for a living). Stylistically I wanted the size boost a halo g...

Re: Elongated Cushion - Which would you choose? Help a Newb

I wouldn't buy the EGL stone. But that doesn't mean, I WOULD buy the GIA stone. Picture doesn't show enough of the stone/faceting.

Re: 2ct RB - HCA looks good, Check out this GIA for me?

Also keep in mind the total package of what you are getting at a BM. Most PS BMs offer upgrade policies and even buy back policies. So those also add to the bottom line. So when you are getting price comps make sure you are comparing apples to apples. You get more than just a diamond through a good ...

Re: 2ct RB - HCA looks good, Check out this GIA for me?

What all is the vendor providing you with? And a BM is going to be more expensive because of the overhead. And it would be really cruddy to have them do a full work up and buy it somewhere else. That's not something I would do. So be honest with yourself about what you feel is a decent premium. Then...

Re: How is my cut? (2.03 Princess H VS1)

They are both lovely. Different styles of princesses with different faceting. Are you the one reserved the second one? Because if you aren't... that stone may not be available. As long as the VS2 is eyeclean I think it's a generally better value, I don't believe in paying for clarity you can't see. ...

Re: 2ct RB - HCA looks good, Check out this GIA for me?

It's 60/60: http://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/60-60-proportioned-diamond I like GOOD 60/60's, and this one looks like it is one of those, but I would absolutely want an idealscope before buying one. So that's what you need. Also you can do a search for 60/60's on here and see what the performa...

Re: Losing hope with OEC search. Will modern RBC do?

I would contact Grace at Jewels by Grace. And ask her to find you a nice 5.8-6.0 mm center stone. You should ask for OECs by measurement not by carat weight as spread can vary dramatically depending on the stones's angles and depth, etc. I think you are probably most realistically going to be in the...

Re: Losing hope with OEC search. Will modern RBC do?

Is there a hurry? I would just save up for a year, then you can afford something really nice. Your budget is very low for what you want. And there are only two solutions: change your expectations and be happy with a 5mm diamond, or change your budget. Of the two, I think saving up for a year or even...
