if stone is insured, do you need USPS insurance?

I''m mailing my wife''s e-ring back to ERD to have it resized. I looked through the archives and everyone recommends getting full-value insurance if you mail it thru USPS registered mail. The ring is covered thru an insurance policy at Jewelers Mutual (which covers accidental losses). Why would I ne...

thoughts on this Facets men''s wedding band?

I''m thinking of getting this as my wedding band. What do you think- is this a timeless design? Has anyone here ordered the men''s bands off Facets Collection before?

are you bringing e-ring/band on honeymoon?

Are you planning on bringing your engagement ring and band on your honeymoon?
If so, will you leave them on at all times? Or take it off for certain activities (going in ocean, etc)?

Interesting..had no idea WG and plat can damage each other. I asked the ShaneCo saleswoman that exact question and she said it's okay to have both! Just curious..which one is more likely to get damaged? Or will they both be? That James Allen one looks nice but it's $1635. Maybe I can get a custom on...

need help..she wants me to buy from ShaneCo

Hi all..after months of doing research on Pricescope, I purchased my fiancee an e-ring last fall from Mark at Engagement Rings Direct. She gets great compliments on it, and I''m glad I was able to find such a tremendous value in ERD. Our wedding is 9 weeks away and we are searching for her band. Thi...

Bed and Breakfast for Wedding Night?

Our wedding is on a Sunday, and we don''t leave for our Honeymoon until the next day. The area where we are getting married doesn''t have any hotels with nice wedding suites. So I''m thinking about staying at a Bed and Breakfast. Neither of us have stayed at one before..what do you think of B&B''s f...

should thickness of e-ring and wedding band be similar?

Is there a general guideline about the thickness of the e-ring band vs. the thickness of the wedding band (on a female)? Are they supposed to be similar?

any good ultrasonic cleaners under $75?

The Sharper Image one has good reviews on here but it is closer to $100. Anyone recommend any cleaners that are cheaper?

I''m hoping to get my fiance one as an xmas gift.

thanks!

Thanks for the tips. I''ve heard bike riding on the beach is a common activity in Hilton Head. I was considering doing that and just looking for a quiet spot to propose. I think that would surprise her more than waiting until we are dressed up for dinner or whatever. Plus that would make sure it''s ...

I emailed the seller and told him about the mistake.  He asked if I could mark Return to Sender and drop it in a mailbox (it was sent USPS).  Will this work? I''ve only used Return to Sender with UPS before.

bought 1 jewelers loupe; they sent me 2 accidently

Ok it seems that ethical dilemmas are common here lately, so I thought I would throw in mine. I ordered a 10X jewelers loupe off Ebay ($13+$3 shipping) for my E-ring. They sent one to me last week. 2 days later I received another one. I was worried that I accidently ordered 2, but I checked my accou...

how to photograph diamond next to flower?

In Show Me the Ring, I love the pics of rings laying on top of a flower.  How do you do this...do you photograph it indoors or outdoors?  Are these flowers from a florist or are they still planted?  Are there specific color flowers that you think look best? my e-ring should be ar...

proposal ideas for Hilton Head SC?

Ok this might be a long shot, but maybe someone here is a Hilton Head expert. Anyone have any recommended romantic spots there? I''m taking my girlfriend there the weekend of Oct 7th (surprise trip). does Jewelers Mutual work with pricescope vendors?

Has anyone used JM in conjunction with vendors like WF, ERD, GOG, JA, etc?

They emailed me this statement: "You may use the jeweler of your choice as long
as the jeweler is in the United States and has a store front."

I''m not really sure if those sites are considered to have a store front.

bought my e-ring today from Mark at Engagement Rings Direct!

Due to the Valentines proposal peak period, I highly doubt you will see lower prices after Xmas.  You will probably see lower levels of customer service though, just because vendors are so busy.

Does your girlfriend insist on a HW ring?  If not, spend your $$ more wisely elsewhere.

Also, 7.99% is a high rate to pay.  Perhaps your parents can give you a loan at 3-5%?

Sorry for the confusion.  I''m just concerned about this scenario..say you only have one week between the appraisel and proposal (obviously the appraisel should be in the return time period).  The appraisel goes poorly, but you obviously might not have enough time to get another ring in th...

question about MM to carat stone conversion chart

I have a question about this Conversion Chart .  What % depth is the chart assuming the stone has? On a related note, I am looking at a 1.65 round that has 61.9% depth and is 7.55x7.58x4.68.  I crunched some numbers using a chart ratio, and it looks like the stone will appear to be 1....

GIA stones: what should I look for?

question about the "cut quality search"

There is an "AGS" column in the search results. A lot of GIA graded diamonds have "0" under the AGS column. Does this mean they would definitely qualify for an AGS 0 if AGS had graded it? If so, would you be just as happy with an GIA as an AGS diamond? Also, someone last week posted about a diamond ...

So in essence, Whiteflash has a lifetime "store credit" return policy?

Let''s say you buy an e-ring from them, but don''t plan on upgrading until 10th or 25th anniversary.  In this case, since the upgrade is so long away, can you still safely assume the same policy will be in effect?
