Re: ugh the indecisiveness on shape!!

Have you called in any IS/ASETs at James Allen yet? You can ask for the extra info on three diamonds. For instance, maybe this one? Looks like it could be pretty. The clarity is overkill but the price is right. http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/1.01-carat-h-color-vvs2-clarity-...

Re: ugh the indecisiveness on shape!!

You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this site, but here's mine, for what it's worth. ;)) You know what she wants (minus the shape of the center)- a three stone with pave down the side. Get that . I would probably go princess since it's what she wanted before and you can get one that s...

Re: Help me find my sister's diamond by end of day TODAY!

I think the people over at http://www.oldworlddiamonds.com are the ones to call for this. Maybe this one would be worth asking about to start with? It looks pretty. (It isn't GIA-certified, though.)

Re: How much should I pay for this antique diamond ring?

This one looks like it may have potential (and they say the worn engraving can be touched up on the sides to make it more pronounced): http://www.ebay.com/itm/0-63C-G-VS2-OLD-EUROPEAN-EXCELLENT-CUT-ART-DECO-FILIGREE-ENGAGEMENT-RING-VINTAGE-/170996980836?pt=Diamond_Solitaire_Rings&hash=item27d036...

Re: Help... Not sure anymore what to do... by Christmas?

I agree with the others- if you go for both, check the return policy! And maybe consider this combo (pending IS, if you have time)? It's an SI1 but looks eye-clean and is under budget. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1545849.asp PS Price = $2680 + $700 setting = ...

Re: Nervous guy. Help!

You know your girlfriend best, so I see two good options here for an NYE proposal given what you can spend: - A 1 ct. diamond in a simple setting with the option of changing the setting in the future (before the wedding, first anniversary, etc.) - A diamond under one carat (probably .80ish) in a set...

Re: are you gonna watch the you know what tonight?

There is no agreement on when life begins -- not in science, not in philosophy, not in religion, not in law. For you to decide *for me* when life begins violates my religious freedom and my values. Likewise, for me to decide *for you* violates yours. I believe that life begins at conception. I also...

Too bad all of your compassion is spent on yourselves, and what you "have to go through" in order to have an abortion. What about what a woman has to through in order to have a baby? Some women suffer horrible nausea and vomiting that lasts the entire pregnancy, leaving them unable to wor...

On style or substance? Because only one of those really matters. A hint: it's not the one a depressing number of Americans seem to care most about.

Re: How to set a POH in a halo & opinions

IMO, with a good budget for a stone, I would NOT get a stone J color or below unless she has specifically said that size trumps all and she's willing to see a tint to get it. And most of the people on here talking about colors that low are buying them for themselves with full knowledge, not receivi...

Re: Questioning my engagement purchase- Need Advice

As far as Zales goes, tell them she has changed her mind about the kind of ring she wants (which is really because she wants better quality whether she knows it or not!) and you have to return the ring and are not yet ready to make another purchase (since they will try hard to make you exchange). D...

Re: Which one is better ? Please help.

I would ask for the correct cert on this one- they've uploaded the wrong one:

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1510107.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

Looks promising, if eye-clean.

Re: Cushion Cut vs. Radiant Cut

The first, the cushion cut, looks really interesting! I'd ask for an ASET of that one for sure. The second looks like it might be okay, and the third I'd pass on. I think that for your third ASET request, there's a better one out there.

Re: Need help with diamond

It looks beautiful. Thanks for the opinion. I am trying to convince the gf that the quality of the diamond is better than just having a bigger diamond. She insists that she wants 1.0 carat. I don't think she would know the difference. Have you checked James Allen? They're usually a little cheaper if...
