Re: Setting help - what kind of customer service to expect?

Waiting for DH to finish *his* grad degree and trying to decide what field to choose - can't afford to live out here if both of us are on stipend salaries! Story of my life... but the other way around. he's working while I finish grad school and get my degree in a subject that will most likely neve...

Re: First ladies jewelry - Guess HU came to dinner?! huffpos

Oooo, I love her dress! On a funny side note, a friend who watched the dinner was telling me how the white house invited numerous Asian guests to dinner, but that it was kind of amusing that most of them were either of Taiwanese or Hong Kong descent, and almost none were actually from main land chi...

Re: Setting help - what kind of customer service to expect?

I think a lifetime warranty is almost a moot point unless you have a delicate ring with a lot of pave. If you think you will have lost stones, then it might be good to have a jeweler who would replace these for free. But really, I had my original set for 25 years before I needed anyone to touch the...

Re: Rug Poll

Thanks for the comments on the table, I am really pleased with it. Especially since I found a couple designer ones almost identical to it for over double the cost. you got a GREAT deal on it, trust me. I'm remodeling right now, and I right by my house there are two shops on Sunset and Melrose that ...

First ladies jewelry - Guess HU came to dinner?! huffpost

I can't fall asleep, so lets play a game. What did Mrs. O wear to the state dinner at the White House tonight? I can't tell at all, but it looks interesting and purty. I really like that she didn't wear any other necklace, ring, or bracelet... just the earrings. Oh, and this time around and there we...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

ETA: Wait, they DID talk about it and he said he didn't want any and she thought she could change his mind. Yeah, not okay. Not bright. And honestly, selfish of her. I didn't really grill her about that. From what she did say they vaguely talked about it and she was ok with it at the time and (from...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

She's 34.. He said he didn't want to have kids before marriage.. But after they got married he would change his mind?? I don't think so. Why do women think they can change the guy after marriage?? Ya can't.. To me it's not a deal breaker as it's not a deal he agreed to... ;)) So if she wants kids, ...

Re: Setting help - what kind of customer service to expect?

Very much depends on the vendor and their policies, less so on how much the setting winds up costing you (unless it's an extreme case, which this isn't). Give your vendor a call and ask, that's the best way to find out for sure ::) I did, but I guess I'm wondering what to push/look for. Currently I...

Setting help - what kind of customer service to expect?

Looking to have a custom setting made and spending around $2,600 on it. Should I expect the vendor to offer decent customer service

1) replace a pave stone that comes loose?
2) Cleaning/polish?
3) Tightening prongs?

What's something that I should expect?

thanks lovely peeps!

Re: Rejuva, Coastal Classic make-up?

I love EWG's Skin Deep website, especially when it comes to sunsceen's. I've tried Coastal Classic Creations eye products and I love it. Their darker colors have high pigmentation. Skin Deep gives the brand a 0 -1 which is the best you can really get, I have not seen that many products with such a g...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

Her husband isn't being selfish, just as she's not being selfish. Having a child without deeply wanting one is a recipe for a disaster. You, as her friend, are walking a fine line because as much as you want to offer support and solace, you also understand that a child isn't something you simply &q...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

I had a friend go through something very similar and it was heart-wrenching because the kids issue is SUCH a dealbreaker that I don't know how it doesn't come up. Before we got married we talked about kids, how many, what kind of parenting style we thought we would have and if it would clash with t...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

Yes, my husband and I discussed at length wanting children before we married each other. But, within the first few months of trying we discovered getting pregnant and carrying to term may not be a reality for me (could happen, but not easily)...and it changed every conversation we ever had and void...

Re: diamond feather - harmless or disaster waiting to happen

The feather appears to be placed where a prong will be (albeit just to the side). So, if you're planning on setting the diamond, if set by a clumsy setter or a great one having a bad day, would there be a possibility of the feather increasing or worse still. This! Experts please weight in, I've alw...

Re: diamond feather - harmless or disaster waiting to happen

my local B&M jeweler is upset with me because I've told him that his prices, after shopping around online, are kind of high. He says that's because he also offers honest service that you won't find on ebay or anywhere else online. He would likely show me the door if I took in a diamond that I d...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

I can't imagine anyone contemplating marriage without covering that topic at some point. I can't either. that's why it's so shocking. I don't understand it, but from our conversation it seemed like he told her didn't want to have children before they got married and she basically didn't say anythin...

Re: Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marri

I think that is a conversation you need to have before getting married for sure! That is a major issue. I think having common goals is helpful in a marriage. Did they have a shotgun wedding/courtship? no, that's the thing. She is actually very reserved and conservative. They are both college educat...

Did u talk about having kids/serious things before marriage

I've been pretty sad for the past few hours and am hanging out on PS to get my mind off of things. Today I hung out with a friend that I had not seen for a few months.
