Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Aw, AMC and SMC I am sorry! you are in the home stretch, but I know it's so hard. Out of the blue E came almost 4 weeks early, so you never know:-) I had prepared myself to go 2 weeks late since it was my first delivery, but he had other plans. I peed my pants all the time when I was pregnant b/c I ...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Just a PSA for Niel and AMC and others who may be dealing with Pca and anemia. My anemia was very bad during my pregnancy (hemoglobin of 8 and ferratin of 4). I didn't realize it and my OB was rather negligent in never saying anything about it. I was on the verge of passing out everytime I walked up...

Insurance on NY Health Exchange?

We have to get insurance for my DH on the exchange. Anyone gone through this and have experiences they want to share? He has some health issues (namely a back injury) that will require some visits to specialists, MRI, physical therapy, etc. so we want to make sure he has options for quality care tha...

Re: Choosing child's mattress (plus bed transition)

B is in a twin bunk bed and we got the top rated mattresses from walmart.com. It's held up quite well for the past 2 1/2 years and we didn't want to spend too much as we had a tight budget and he used to get massive bloody noses all the time. DH and I just got a new mattress after extensive research...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Here was E (and B) the day before his rash broke out. He's covered in rashes and bumps and blisters, but still pretty cheerful, just a little fussier and sleeping a little more. He's such a trooper!

Re: 24 Surprising Things ABout Parenting in the United State

So interesting. I had never heard re the napping in Denmark either. SMC_yes! the recovery time (or lack therof) and maternity leave issue is huge. Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Aw-thanks NEL! Yes, it's hard right now. I get that he's stressed, but it's hard not to feel resentful especially when he's super grouchy. Hi ladies, E is proudly crawling, sitting, rolling, pulling-up, actively taking step when you hold his hands, and into EVERYTHING! Re: The Official TTC for 6 Months or More Thread

Lliang, Just a quick note to say that my DH is dealing with some herniated disks and taking the MCAT for a second time, but by the end of Oct when hopefully all that is resolved I have a similar pact...and 2-3 times a week would be a significant increase for us too:-)

Re: Car seat placement

I've either heard or read somewhere that you put the older child (in a car seat) in the middle seat because that's the safest place for a child. The seats for older children are a little less protective than the seats for infants. If you have 2 children, the infant seat should go behind the driver ...

Re: Anyone NEVER offer baby a pacifier? Or is that crazy/cru

E sucked his hand/arm/fingers in utero and was born sucking on his hands.

DH offered a paci at around 6 weeks b/c he was convinced it would help E cry less...E spit it out everytime.

I really think it depends on the kid:-) have one on hand in case you want to try it, but go with your baby's cues...

Re: The Official TTC for 6 Months or More Thread

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Pancake, Just chiming in to say that I was really sad in the last few weeks of my pregnancy about B no longer having all our attention and no longer being a family of 3 (and since E came 3 weeks early it probably would have gotten much worse leading up to delivery!)
