Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Here was E (and B) the day before his rash broke out. He's covered in rashes and bumps and blisters, but still pretty cheerful, just a little fussier and sleeping a little more. He's such a trooper!

Missy-Jenna is gorgeous! The hop sounds adorable! Pancake-Welcome:-) NEL-Cora is so big! I'll post much more later, but we had to take E to the Dr this morning as he's covered in a rash. On the way there, sores started popping out on his hands and mouth...hand foot and mouth/cocksackie:-( So, he'll ...

Re: 24 Surprising Things ABout Parenting in the United State

So interesting. I had never heard re the napping in Denmark either. SMC_yes! the recovery time (or lack therof) and maternity leave issue is huge. I am the sole breadwinner for our family and with both my children had no paid maternity leave, just the 12 weeks FMLA which the job I had with my older ...

My boss was rally sick when pregnant with her daughter (who is now 25) and she's a tiny lady too. She said that she pretty much lived on Carnation Instant Breakfast and dried apricots her whole pregnancy. Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Aw-thanks NEL! Yes, it's hard right now. I get that he's stressed, but it's hard not to feel resentful especially when he's super grouchy. E is starting with a nanny share tomorrow for 5 hours a day on the 4 days I don't work from home b/c neither DH nor E are happy with the current arrangement. I'm...

Re: A year ago, I found out I was pregnant.

KSmom, I have started to write and stopped so many times over the past few days. It is clear how loved and wanted Uma was (and still is). Hi ladies, E is proudly crawling, sitting, rolling, pulling-up, actively taking step when you hold his hands, and into EVERYTHING! Still no teeth. he'll eat anything (he had homemade kimchee last week and loved it), belly laughing, super determined, very vocal about what he wants, and he's such a jo...

Re: The Official TTC for 6 Months or More Thread

Lliang, Just a quick note to say that my DH is dealing with some herniated disks and taking the MCAT for a second time, but by the end of Oct when hopefully all that is resolved I have a similar pact...and 2-3 times a week would be a significant increase for us too:-)

Re: Car seat placement

I've either heard or read somewhere that you put the older child (in a car seat) in the middle seat because that's the safest place for a child. The seats for older children are a little less protective than the seats for infants. If you have 2 children, the infant seat should go behind the driver ...

Re: Anyone NEVER offer baby a pacifier? Or is that crazy/cru

E sucked his hand/arm/fingers in utero and was born sucking on his hands.

DH offered a paci at around 6 weeks b/c he was convinced it would help E cry less...E spit it out everytime.

I really think it depends on the kid:-) have one on hand in case you want to try it, but go with your baby's cues...

Re: The Official TTC for 6 Months or More Thread

MP-I am so sorry that you are going through this! If it were me and money/insurance were not issues, I would get the blood work done now and then depending on the results determine if I wanted to get another ultrasound.

Pancake, Just chiming in to say that I was really sad in the last few weeks of my pregnancy about B no longer having all our attention and no longer being a family of 3 (and since E came 3 weeks early it probably would have gotten much worse leading up to delivery!) Oh NEL-That sounds really hard with your DH. My DH accidentally let E roll off the couch when he was just a few weeks old.
