Re: The Official TTC for 6 Months or More Thread

tourmaline, as one of the veterans/"founding members" of this thread, please don't go:-) I think that you are completely welcome and infertility/ttc is hard no matter how many children you have. Hormones and emotions can run high on this thread and in life while TTC. It's possible that you...

Re: Car seat placement

I've either heard or read somewhere that you put the older child (in a car seat) in the middle seat because that's the safest place for a child. The seats for older children are a little less protective than the seats for infants. If you have 2 children, the infant seat should go behind the driver ...

Re: Anyone NEVER offer baby a pacifier? Or is that crazy/cru

E sucked his hand/arm/fingers in utero and was born sucking on his hands.

DH offered a paci at around 6 weeks b/c he was convinced it would help E cry less...E spit it out everytime.

I really think it depends on the kid:-) have one on hand in case you want to try it, but go with your baby's cues...

Re: The Official TTC for 6 Months or More Thread

MP-I am so sorry that you are going through this! If it were me and money/insurance were not issues, I would get the blood work done now and then depending on the results determine if I wanted to get another ultrasound.

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Pancake, Just chiming in to say that I was really sad in the last few weeks of my pregnancy about B no longer having all our attention and no longer being a family of 3 (and since E came 3 weeks early it probably would have gotten much worse leading up to delivery!) The first newborn weeks were hard...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Oh NEL-That sounds really hard with your DH. My DH accidentally let E roll off the couch when he was just a few weeks old. E was fine, but DH was super upset for a few days, but not at all like your DH. Also, almost every mommy in my local mommy group has either dropped their child or had them roll ...

Re: Any baby wearing parents here?

Thanks! We're trying as wrapping is so much more comfortable and pretty than anything else when we do it right. The veteran ladies on thebabywearer get their wraps so high and so tight and so...everything...that sometimes I feel a little like I am not doing it right. but then I just go back to my yo...

Re: Any baby wearing parents here?

Wow, your handwovens are gorgeous! Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Hi Mamas! Miss you ladies:-) Seems like we are all super busy with our little ones. Missy-Thinking of you and hoping that all is well. NEL-how is Cora? E is loving solid food, but mostly to play with, gum, suck on, and try to chew. He's not ingesting that much yet. I can't believe that Cora is eatin...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Bright! I can't believe that you are 31 weeks!!! So exciting:-) Just wanted to pop in and add my voice to those reassurances re breastfeeding. Re: Funny conversations with your young child

Ponder, your DD sounds a lot like my 5 year old son. Hilarious and a little perplexing all at once:-) Tara-popsicles definitely might be an at home treat for now! On the 4th I was trying to blow up B's water wings with no luck. I said, "maybe we need a pump". B said (dead serious, like a l...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

NEL-E is a mover and shaker too. He started doing what my DH calls "Rapid rolling" this week which makes him fully mobile. It's hilarious and also terrifying! Wrapping takes a little practice, but is not that hard. You have to get a woven wrap to back wrap, you can't do it with a Moby, but...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

Meant to ask...so NEL, she only has 4 bottles a day now? How many oz each? I have been getting lax about pumping during the day at work (I still nurse once during the day), and E dropped his early morning nursing session so he's just eating: 6am nurse, 11am 5 oz bottle, 2:30 nurse, 5:30 nurse, 7:30 ...

Yeah, the boy is super strong:-) He's 5 months this week and at the appt today was 16 lbs 11 oz and 25 in long, but is all muscle and baby chubb:-) He went down pretty well tonight. Seems a little more tired and his one leg is definitely more sensitive near the injection site, but he seems pretty mu...

Re: PS Mommy Thread-Newborn to 12 months!

We transitioned E to his crib (well, mini crib since we live in NYC) last night b/c he almost FLIPPED the rock n play with his newfound extreme rolling skills. We thought we should start strapping him in now that he's such a strong roller...bad idea! He decided it was a challenge to break out of/pus...

Re: Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

dragonfly, just a quick note. I was super anemic during pregnancy (and probably for a few years before) but I didn't find out until delivery and my numbers were in the single digits. I almost wasn't allowed to leave the hospital after delivery and then had to have 5 weeks of IV iron therapy. Definit...
