Re: Would appreciate your thoughts. thanxw

I'd just "put it out there" that you are thinking of her and available should she need help.....both in your thoughts re the universe, at your church, with people that you both know. perhaps if she hears from someone that you asked about her she will send a message back or get in touch. I...

Would appreciate your thoughts. thanxw

This might sound jumbled, so please bear with me. I have a friend 'll call Mary. She has always been paranoid, but I noticed it getting worse the last couple of years. We used to work together part time for a family business and she began telling me that the boss installed hidden cameras in one of t...

Re: Do you have a housekeeper?

I have a woman who comes in twice a month and cleans the living room, tv Room and bathrooms. My husband has a hoarding problem and by the time I had reclaimed my house {it used to look like a recycling center, no joke} my arthritis began and I could barely open a newspaper, let alone clean anything....

Re: Sandy Hook Shooter's Dad Talks

The father gets absolutely no sympathy from me. The only person I feel sorry for is the brother, Ryan. Adam took his identification and it was initially thought Ryan was the perp. I feel about Nancy Lanza the same was I feel about wrong-way-on-the Taconic killer of 7 Diane Schouler: I want their sor...

Re: That 18-Year Old Suing Her Parents for Tuition

Here's the issue: New Jersey case law requires parents who are financially capable to support their children and pay for college if the children are "within the sphere of parental influence" and are dependent on them for support, he said. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/...

Re: How long have you been married to your current DH?

30 1/2 years. Technically my second, but I like to consider my first marriage a class in "ready for marriage" that I flunked.

Re: Help me detangle...Please!

I love love love the its a 10 miracle leave in plus keratin spray, it is about 17.00 and you spray a few squirts on your wet hair and it is amazing! My hair is about 4 inches below the bra line and it used to be just torture to comb it out after washing until I found this stuff. One thing to note, ...

Re: I woke up hungover ...

When I was younger and really stupid I actually didn't make it into my sisters house and collapsed on the lawn. One nosey neighbor called the police and I was almost taken in!

Re: What would you do if you won/ received $2million?

Pay off the mortgage. Set up a "health trust" for my nieces baby who will have high medical bills for life. I have 3 friends who are really suffering in the economy and I would help them.. Take my SIL to a GOOD doctor and get her health issues straightened out. Look for a 1 1/2 to 2 ct. OE...

BRR--It's cold outside. How warm do you keep your house?

I like in Metro NY/NJ and we are getting HAMMERED with cold weather and snow {another big one coming our way tomorrow/Monday}. I also had severe arthritis that gets worse in the cold/damp and just generally am cold if the temp is lower than 70. I used to keep the house @ 72 degrees, but I've lowered...

Re: Why wait?

I'm an old fart as well. Mr. St. Clare proposed {officially} while we were doing laundry, we shopped for a ring and he put it on my finger 2 minutes after coming home from picking it up. He didn't even take off his jacket. I have no time for people who play games, and IMO buying a ring and then NOT ...

Re: The many ways make-up changes us...

I love make up and applying it. My eyes are a strange color--neither blue nor green nor hazel so I have fun experimenting with various color eye shadows. My eyelashes have thinned over the years and I need mascara. At the risk of sounding like a braggart I have really good skin and don't need found...

Re: Simplifying your life--what luxuries do you cut?

I cancelled Netflix. Cut the cleaning woman from 4x a month to 2 {I NEED her, I have severe rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and a husband who doesn't like to do housework}. When using the dishwasher I cut out the 1/2hr. drying cycle. I keep the microwave unplugged--someone told me that saved energy...

Re: Death sentence for Boston bomber.

Since there is absolutely NO DOUBT OF HIS GUILT. I'm pissed that we even have to have a trial for the SOB. I know it is the American way, but seriously? Where the hell is Jack Ruby when you need him?????

His mommy said her boys were set up by big bad America.

Re: Super Bowl Sunday! Are you ready for some football?

I bailed on our friend's Super Bowl Party, crowds don't really interest me. Mr. St.Clare is handling the money and having a grand old time. I'm home listening to {and singing along with} Celine Dion. And just had a big piece of birthday cake {with a diet coke no less!}.

Re: Are you afraid of needles?

Being bipolar and having severe arthritis, I'm pretty much resigned to the monthly blood test to check my liver levels AND injecting myself weekly with arthritis medication. I still turn my head when the needle is inserted, watching my blood fill up the hypodermic makes me dizzy.

Re: Are You Going to Pay for Your Kids' College?

We have a 28 year old son and paid for his ENTIRE education--pre-K to MBA. We felt the responsible thing for us was to ensure he would have tuition money {and books and lab fees}. Re: Fur coat in Chicago?

When it's cold, I wear fur {lynx or mink}. I wear it with jeans and boots. The only time I won't wear it is if I have to go out of the house and am wearing my dreaded velour track suits. They don't go with fur at all, IMO. But for me, warmth is the key issue. Sometimes I wear long underwear under my...

I was divorced and met my now-husband on Match. I went on lots and lots of first dates, and I picked a couple of places I liked and suggested those as places to meet. I felt comfortable getting in/out of them and eventually got to know the staff, so that made things much less awkward. I also took a...
