Re: What's the meaning of your PS user name?

hhmm--I'm almost embarrassed to admit it. My name is the name of a character in a 40s trash novel--"Forever Amber" --the story of a English country girl who sleeps her way thru Restoration London court to become a duchess. I found the book when I was babysitting in high school and it was ...

Re: Favorite tea?

My very favorite is whatever the iced tea is that Prince Lebanese Grill in Arlington, Texas, serves. OMG it's heaven. It's laced with cinnamon and I seriously could guzzle gallons of it. I crave it. The closest I have come to replicating it at home is half Luzianne decaf and half " Get Lost&qu...

Re: Favorite tea?

My two favorite teas come from a local tea house and are Vanilla Cookie {I have a pot full every morning with my morning papers} and Royal Marzipan in the evening while I'm doing my computer scanning/posting. Both have really rich flavor. Twice a year I buy about six bags of Vanilla and three bags o...

Re: When do you get your flu vaccine?

I got mine as soon as it was available, as I do every year.

The last time I got the flu It was so bad I actually prayed for death. I don't ever want to be that sick, when it can be prevented again.

I am thankful I was smart enough to go out with Mr. St. Clare when he ask me even tho he wasn't my type AT ALL. I'm thankful I was smart enough to marry him and I am beyond thankful I had my son.

I'm also pretty damn thankful for Edys Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie Ice Cream.

Re: Vent/Rage of the day thread

My vent: I ordered Game of Thrones dvds from Amazon -- the first three seasons. So the last two discs on the last season are defective and I am having a bitch of a time getting a replacement. Last time I checked I am SUPPOSED to get replacements on Friday, but I'll believe it when I see it. also--Mr...

Re: Overall, how happy are you with your SO?

I gave Mr St. Clare an 8.

H's pretty darn perfect except for two major issues:

He's a hoarder and the house can get out of control quickly if I don't catch it.

He snores so badly we've had to d the separate room solution. And he won't go for a study.

Other than that he's close to perfect for me.

Re: Big Lies In Front of the Kids

I remember the time my son, at age 6 caught me in a lie. It was summertime, I had been sick for a while and had to go get a blood test prescribed by my doctor. SO we went down to the drawing station and went into the lab, and I was just so overwhelmed I turned around and we left. When the husband go...

Re: Do you regrets having kids?

My ONLY regret is not having more children, but I became quite ill when the kid hit kindergarten, so it seemed like divine interference. Our child was a joy to raise, and I have to admit that I'm thrilled he came back to live here for while when his former roomies got into drugs. I still mourn the c...

Re: Do you parent like your parents did?

I absolutely DO NOT parent the way I was brought up. My father was an alcoholic who was also bi-polar and had lifelong PTSD from his experiences in WWII. My mother had emotional problems and saw her 3 daughters as rivals, not children. Living with them was like living on the edge of a volcano--you N...

Re: At what age does the usual kid no longer need a baby sit

Mine DEMANDED to be left by himself when he was in the 4th grade. {can't remember his actual age}. We went out for dinner and I must have called him 5 times in 90 minutes, much to his annoyance. I think it depends on the maturity level of the child and length of time you will be gone. My in-laws liv...

Re: How would you react to lack of gifting?

Mr. St. Clare I good at the small, thoughtful gifts--I never know when a CD or DVD or book or Victoria's Secret will arrive in the mail for me. He's shy about jewelry because I am extremely picky and he's been burned a few times. HOWEVER, he cannot express emotion and I think I've received {unsolici...

Re: That 18-Year Old Suing Her Parents for Tuition

Here's the issue: New Jersey case law requires parents who are financially capable to support their children and pay for college if the children are "within the sphere of parental influence" and are dependent on them for support, he said. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/...
