I think a lot would depend on how big your hand is and your finger. They are both really large diamonds for every day wear, so I think you go with the one that looks better on your hand.

I too would take the 3.3ct if it was eye clean - and I mean TRULY eye clean. I have sharp eyes and it would bug me if I could make something out.

Diamondnut, I would *definitely* for the larger stone if it is eye-clean. You live in HK and I live in Singapore. We both suffer from DSS BIG TIME (I hope you don't mind my saying that and if I am wrong, I apologise). Go for it, girlfriend!

ETA: I just read yr other thread, Diamondnut, I DEFINITELY would go for the larger stone. I've seen some beautiful eye-clean SI1 stones IRL and am also getting an SI2 eye-clean stone from JA. Also, as other PS'ers have said, it is absolutely possible to get an eye-clean SI stone. What you'd need to do though is to find a vendor whom you'd trust. I trust Jim at JA absolutely (I personally do not know however if he or other PS vendor would take in stones from another vendor, particularly a B&M one - and therein lies my regret too) and WF has an excellent reputation too.

i'd just like to add that I have a pair of earrings from JA that are I1 but for the life of me, I can't see the inclusions without a loupe. I am not recommending getting an I1 clarity stone for yr ring, but am sure you can find a beautiful SI stone from a trusted PS vendor.

I would probably get the 2.5 E VS1, now that I realize I am a more of a clarity nut. I just returned a 2.5 SI1 for a 2.38 VS2 because the inclusions kept bothering me. I had to pay a llittle more for the VS2 even though it is smaller and even with the VS2 clarity, I still "see" things, although it is much better than the SI1.

Get the one that is going to not only be eye clean, but mind clean as well.

If it''s the case that you already have the 2.5 and are contemplating the 3.3, I think that, just due to you asking, the 2.5 doesn''t totally cut it for you. But considering you asked us what *we''d* want, and we''re in all different corners of the globe (isn''t that an odd saying, since a globe is a sphere?) with different sized fingers (I''m a 9 and still went with the smaller choice

) and different tastes, but ultimately what *WE* think has nothing to do with what you think is right for *you*. So I say listen to your gut, and maybe if you put off the upgrade a bit, you can save up and get the 3.3 but VS instead of SI?

I am not really sure whether SG or HK is blingier, but I suspect HK, because 1) HK women are more diamond-conscious (at least based on my experience having lived in HK for 5 1/2 yrs) 2) there are lots more rich mainland Chinese women visiting/ living in HK these days - I suspect - with huge pockets.

Inclusions that cannot be seen only exist in the pricer''s eyes IMO.
