Why is this ring so inexpensive?

That's not really inexpensive at all. The center stone is .91 ct, graded by a notoriously lax lab, probably at least two grades off for color and one for clarity. If the color in that pic is accurate that's no 'H' as GIA or AGS would see it. Maybe a 'J' or 'K' in color.

Just wondering. Seemed inexpensive compared to other almost 1 carat diamonds I see.

Thanks.

Yeah...my own diamond is an I in color, and if that picture is accurate, that diamond looks a lot more yellowish than mine. I do think it's a pretty ring though.

I am new here. When posters show pics of their well cut J and K, I cannot see any warmth/yellow tint. BUT in this pic, it was the first thing I noticed :((

It's overpriced. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI2-Premium-Cut-Cushion-Diamond-1319533.asp Here is a REAL H SI2 (GIA) .91 cushion (isn't it pretty all blown up with all those lovely black inclusions? It's amazing what magnification shows you!).

And here's the setting that is similar to that one. http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/18k-White-Gold-Pave-Set-4-Prong-Ring.html or http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones/Common-Prong-Engagement-Ring.html

Grand total? Almost exactly the same as that ebay ring. Only with this one you know what you are getting because of the GIA certificate and magnified images of the stone. You'd be better off with the JA set... even with the carbon spots on the stone.

it isnt imo....it is a ugl certified diamond and it is graded by them as an si2, which i would understand to be NOT eye clean and would likely be a I1 or I2 by GIA standards. Keep looking if you can, and try to find a GIA or AGS certified diamond if you are concerned with wanting a moderately eye clean one.
