and what were your impressions?

Cullinan I

It seemed huge. It looks smaller than what I remember in a picture of it being held in a man's hand.
The colors seemed to be flashing inside the diamond, everywhere and very fast.
I have to say it was the most impressive diamond I've seen and one of the most impressive things I've
seen, period. I have a memory of it that has stayed with me for 28, one I expect will stay with me forever.

Cullinan II

This should have been impressive, and I'm sure that it was, but as I was fourteen, and we had to walk through the hallway, the only thing I know about this is that I did see it. I know because I remember the crown that it was in. I'm very much a fan of this diamond in pictures I've seen of it. It's a beautifully cut diamond, as all the Cullinan diamonds are.

Hope

I saw this in, of course, the Smithsonian, in the Cartier setting (all respect to Harry Winston, but I never would have moved it, even temporarily). I remember, I assume for security reasons, that it was in a case such that you had to walk up to a wall and look in a window. As such, it was a little bit difficult to see it. I think it would have been spinning around. I don't honestly remember whether it was. I was only about eight when I saw it and the way it was hidden in the wall and not having a lot of time, I think combined with being so young, I don't have a very clear memory of it.

And you? Which famous diamonds have you seen and what were your impressions? Many thanks in advance.
