Looking at a Princess diamond:

Sarin says:

total depth: 3.62 67.2 U2
table: 3.62 67.2 G
crown ang: 36.2 G
crown hgt: .48 8.9% U
girdle: 2.6 Medium VG
pavilion depth: 3.01 55.8% U2

GIA says:
likewise char.
polish and sym are EX
VS2 Clarity
no cutlet
color grade F
FLOUR - mb

Around $3500.

More interested in comments about what the sarin # and coding means and how much stock to put into it? Looking for a ID/VG princess beteen .85 to 1 ct. I used the Blue Nile Sig. guide as a starting point for parameters but if you have any extra sug. I would appr. They recomm. at least 8% crown height, 1 - 1.05 ratio. Didn''t say to much about the table v. depth %. Thanks.

Can anyone help me with the Sarin lettering off to the right and whether I should be concerned with what U and U2 means? Thank you and any responses are definitely appreciated!

Grading fancies from #'s is not an exact science.

is U2 perhasp VG as in Very Good?

Thanks for the link! It definitely says U & U2. I've never read a Sarin report before. It's kind of interesting...
