Visible size difference question

Hello, :wavey:

Do you think that if I went from a 6.50 X 6.17 stone to a 6.47 X 6.30 stone, would there be a visible size difference? In your opinion, does a more square stone look visually bigger than a rectangular shaped one?

I'm toying with the idea of going higher in color for my AVC.....

Thanks!

Cachette :))

I think a rectangular stone tends to look bigger, but it depends on the ring. :)

I don't think you'll notice a difference in size between those two stones.

Thank you Precieux Art. :wavey:

I know it's only a few mm difference but I wonder if I will notice it. I'm not really looking for size at this point (color is my main concern) but if I can gain a few mms then it's a bonus. :)

Do others also think that a stone that is rectangular looks bigger than a square stone even when close in carat weight? Curious to see what most people think.

Cachette,

In this case, I don't think that square vs. rectangular is relevant. The longer dimension of both diamonds is close (6.50 vs. 6.47). However, the shorter dimension of the "squarer" stone is .13 mm larger. Now whether that translates to the squarer stone looking larger? Who knows?
