"bottom line: will be stretching budget and looking at this purchase as an investment"
No, no no! Do not buy luxury items as "investments" Buy them because you want one, you can afford one, you need one, you'd love one. Do not buy one to make money with because it is very unlikely to happen. Diamonds are not the equivalent of the stock market or real estate. David S. ok, perhaps word selection could have been better... i would love/like/want one... the purchase would not exactly break my bank account, but in my opinion a fairly large purchase nonetheless.
investment not to turn a profit in the future, instead an investment in something i will be more than happy to wear and look at for the next 50+ years. as i don't plan in excercising the 'trade-in' options out there. it's more than just money changing hands. since i'm not independently wealthy. it will be something i've worked hard to attain. just trying to maximize knowledge in the efforts to prevent the pooch from being screwed. |

Why not search for a simple AGA 1A or a well made version of the AGS 0, A Cut Above, A superCert, or one of very many finely cut stones that do not command crazy premiums.
NBo extra facerts are necessary. No "names" make the stone better. A fine cut is simply what you will find the best. No pooch screwing allowed! David S. Atlas, GG(GIA) Sr Mbr(NAJA) ASG(AGA) My basket of services available to Pricescopers |
