The stone was sourced from a family store in another state, and the setting was sourced from *another* family store down the street - so I suspect not. Actually it''s very plain and classic in a standard size (YG Jabel setting with matching band) and the diamond is about a carat. My thought is it''s probably fair to good in cut (after reading up here!!). I don''t have any actual cert on it, just the jeweler''s comment for an insurance appraisal. And gee, Winnetka is right on my way home from work! (this could be easier than I thought!! Nice!) |

If a jeweller won''t do a flat out trade (and I''d doubt they would, tbh) then it''s worth it to find someone who might sell it on consignment or yourself - there are some avenues to do this but you won''t get anywhere near what it cost originally. Then you can take the money and buy earrings wherever you want. It''d probably be two separate transactions.
