Hi, no one has an opinion?
I reread my post and hope am not breaking any Forum rules. This is a geniune query and I only posted the price because I really don´t know what is a good price for a bracelet of this type......if I know that the jeweller i reputable what other specs should I ask for other than the ones I glimpsed on the tag? DO bracelets of this size come with certificates? Thanks in advance - would rally appreciate an opinion - I don´t live in the US so things work a bit differently here |

It sounds pretty reasonable to me! Have a look around some of the online vendors and compare come prices to see what you think. A 6.ooct bracelet from Whiteflash for example runs at about $9k, but that has their signature 'A Cut Above' hearts and arrows diamonds in it, which are about as close to perfect as diamond of that size get in terms of cut! But of course it depends if you'd rather shell out more for those types of cuts. I bought a bracelet from ID Jewelry Online with excellent cut diamonds (not hearts and arrows or a branded cut etc.) and it's really beautiful, I wasn't fazed about buying h&a diamonds.
The most important thing is do YOU love it?

The problem with bracelets is that it is SO hard to judge cut quality in smaller stones. I have a beautiful one that I bought before Pricescope and I really have no idea of the specs other than what they told me at the time I bought it. I really wouldn't buy an expensive piece of jewelry that way now, because I would want to be certain the diamonds were high quality. find that I don't wear mine often because I think diamond bracelets are pretty dressy and I am casual almost all the time. Mine is only 4 cts. so do really think about how much you'd want to wear it. That is a wonderful gift, though!!!

How about a lovely solitaire pendant instead- a bracelet might be less useful on a daily basis if you're changing nappies and carrying stuff with your new baby??

Wow, that is really sweet of your in-laws! The price sounds good. As long as the diamonds look good and sparkle I would go for it. Ideally cut stones are important for some people but in my experience visually you can't tell a difference. Ps I'm looking for a piece to celebrate my daughter as well. I just love having a little girl!

Hi guys, thanks for your replies! Am trying to look at prices online but when it comes to buying I probably will go with "my" guy - it´s just easier in terms of logistics - so far I have seen prices for 4 carats at the price he is giving me fo 6,5 now obviously the cut etc is a big factor so will try to go there next week to discuss the details...
re pendant, I actually prefer a bracelet and no, being a mum is not going to stop me from wearing diamonds hehehehehe - ´that bracelet is not an issue while changing diapers - if anything will be a great distraction for baby who loves trying to grab my watch and ring already re carat weight - I actually thought the 6,5 looked kind of "average" was even tempted to get a larger one I am going to go to other jewellery shops to try on different sizes and see different settings but any other tips will be hugely appreciated! |
