Thank you for showing me these. I can afford up to 33k or so. I had seen the 3.07 on the whiteflash site and asked for opinions but didn't get much feedback, so I assumed it wasn't anything worth getting excited over. I love the look of the James Allen stone, but I am concerned that K color is pushing it and I won't be happy with a dark stone. In fact, I was going to ask people if they thought that it would be best to go with an I color and and Si2 quality or Jcolor and Si1 quality. Of course, I am trying to find a really dynamite cut.
My current stone is a d color si2 (GIA) 1.7 rb. I know exactly where the inclusion is and it's easy to see with magnification, but It's not visible at all on my finger. color on the other hand, is easier to see...so perhaps I si2?
My husband really wants me to have a 3 carat stone (or very close) sbecause it seems anything smaller really isn't worth upgrading to since the difference in size isn't noticeable until you get close to 3. I love him and I I don't want this to cost a mint. After all, it's just a piece of jewelry.

oh boy you are going from a d to a......? I or J will be considerably noticeable especially in the larger size... lets poke around. PSers are really good at finding something... maybe a compromise?

Hi,

actually - I mis-wrote. My current ring is an E Si2. So yes, it is colorless, but not a D.
I like smaller tables and I am trying to avoid a 60/60 stone, so the 3 carat stone isn't a good fit. The other stones look very nice - but I am wondering if I will notice enough of a difference in size to make an upgrade worth it. I am hoping to put the stone into an edwardian style reproduction setting such as one like this: http://www.chiltonsantiques.com.au/Products/rings/art-deco-style-daisy-diamond-ring

This would be somewhat similar to the size change you are looking to jump from/to:

The J has a better idealscope.
The I has better color.

It's up to you which is what you prefer.

based on your last few comments and threads.. I feel that you want a round with bolder flashes, smaller table.. and of course super well cut..

Sounds like one of GoG's AVR might work for you? and in that vintage/antique type setting this diamond would sit beautifully.. It is a K however,,, you might want to take a look at this in person if you can swing it.
