Exciting indeed! I just got confirmation that my OEC from Dreamer, made it safely thru Canada Post/USPS to their offices this morning. The mail system does work safely (on occassion!)

brightice, my 1 ct. stone came back a .80, but it had a wonky cut to begin with. It is actually perfect for earrings or a pendant because it has a slightly shallow crown (55 table, 33 ca, 41 pa, depth 60.7). It is temporarily set in a bezel pendant, but I have thought of maybe setting it as one of a pair of studs. The downside of that for me is that the stone has sentimental value because it originally was bought by my great-grandmother, so I am a little more afraid of losing a stud than a pendant.
But hopefully yours will turn out a little larger! It was WELL worth doing! |

Mine is already a fairly well cut stone, I can even see some arrows. I will see what Brian thinks. If he says it's not worth it, then I will just have it sent back and go from there. |

I got my pre-cut information and will be talking to Brian today about the recut. It looks like retained weight will be quite good.
What do you cut pros think? I am thinking about this for a pendant http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamond-pendants/halo-bezel-pendant-18k-white-gold-5677w18

OMG !!! I hadn't seen that pendant before, I LOVE IT !!!!!
PLEASE go ahead and do it, I want to see that one !!!! LOVE !!!!! Actually, I wear pendants every day and love them. I would love a nice pair of studs or something but over the years I have somehow managed to lose "one" of EVERY. SINGLE. NICE. OR. FAVORITE. EARRING. SO I have given up on that idea..... |

I have decided to go with it! I think I will love it. Jamie said she and a friend who has one were out to dinner this past weekend and she had multiple compliments on it. Jamie says it's very lovely. I have a pair of studs that I have owned for 30+ years and luckily have not lost one!! I have a pair of 2.10ctw J Infinity studs coming my way soon, can't wait to get them. You betcha they WILL be insured! |

Hi Brightice I recently had my 1.3 recut by BG it came back around 1.2ish. I can't believe how beautiful it turned out. I had it set into the Barbara with migraine in yellow gold. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!

I am very excited I don't see where you posted a thread on your recut! |

The recut looks like it will be great! Because a lot of the stone's pavilion will be recut, you won't lose a ton of spread.

Sounds like a great projected recut and I do love your pendant plan! How very exciting!!!
Can't wait to see the finished result! |

Ahhhh, lucky you!!! Your stone was already fairly well cut and just needs a little tweaking!
SO worth doing!!!! That is a very pretty pendant! I am interested in resetting mine, but I am leaning more towards something like Beverley K.

I just got the information related to my recut. I now have to decide if I want to find a mate for studs or set it in a pendant.
Here is the before and after. I am VERY pleased

Can't wait to see the pics!! I love their danglies - a 1 ct set in those would be divine!

No, he sends them out to someone but for some reason I think the cutter is pretty close to him. |

LOVE the milgrain diamond studs so those get my vote
The danglies are pretty too though, you really can't go wrong!

I'd go for the opposite of what you currently have... so if you have studs - get a dangle, or vice versa. No point having a second pair of the same thing - when you have a beautiful alternate option out there! If it were me, I'd get dangles... But either one are just perfect! (So, what do you have already???)
Love the recut BrightIce! It looks amazing and not too much ct weight loss either. Good call! |

Oh what an amazing improvement with so little loss in weight!
It looks great!!Okay, I am officially confused. Didn't you say above that you had just ordered 2 ctw studs from Infinity? |

No DS, you are correct. I changed my mind and took the buyback when I bought the french cut parcel for the eternity ring that I am having made. I just couldn't see putting so much in studs

Wow, that is a great re-cut...now you will say...why did I wait so long?
Thanks for sharing...recuts are so interesting. |
