Ive heard this slung around a lot in my career.

Can somebody explain this to me ?

Sometimes you gain this title here locally with years in the business ?

What are things that come to your mind when you put this lable on a jeweler ?

When I say a person is reputable, it means they don''t try to BS you. Don''t try to switch stones. If something''s wrong with either the item or maybe it doesn''t match with what you want, they''ll say so instead of saying anything just to get you to buy it anyways. Also, being a gemologist with a degree from some respected place like GIA helps.

Hey Ice

Reputable Jeweler isn''t a title. No one that I know would isse such a "title", except may the phoney baloneys that offer Bachelor''s Degrees, Masters Degrees and Doctorate without attending legitimate credentialed institution of learning, such as real universities and colleges.

Reputable Jeweler to me is someone''s opinion, which may or may not be accurate. If this opinion is stated by the jeweler himself, then I accept it with caution, People earning such accolades, are made by others not themselves.

Does that help you?

A track record of honesty, integrity and service as expressed by customers.
It can not be granted by anyone in the same trade nor the person on themselves.
