Received My "J" Today

Hi all, I received my "J" color 1.194 H&A diamond today. It is absolutely gorgeous! Look at my previous posts for pictures. I purchased it from DiamondIdeal.com and was very nervous about my first "big" internet purchase. They shipped it yesterday and we received it today. Before receiving it, I imagined it to be so beautiful just based on the specs alone and I was afraid that once received, it would not measure up to my expectations. Well, believe me, I am not disappointed. We have an appointment on Saturday with the appraiser. We have 30 days to decide on whether to keep it....however, based on my gut feeling, we will probably keep it. I tried taking pictures of it with my digital but the flash is too high and the diamond is totally white on the picture...I''ll keep trying so I can upload for you guys to see. Thanks to all of who helped me make my decision on this diamond...it is truly appreciated!

Not yet...after getting an appraisal, will start searching the net for a mounting. I really like the one at Whiteflash but just don't want to mail it to them...so, I may look arond time or find an on-line jeweler who will ship the mounting to me and I'll find a local jeweler to set it.

Most designer settings require the diamond to be sent to the designer to be set. I'd also feel more comfortable sending a diamond to Whiteflash to be set in one of their settings than I would in having a local jeweler do the setting.

I look foward to any pictures you might be able to take (especially in natural light, etc).

Does your 'J' have fluorescence at all?

As soon as I get my camera flash to work right, I will take plenty of pictures. My "J" has negligible fluroescence....

Hi Msbennie-
I can't wait to see your pictures. The stones sounds beautiful. So how does the color look? I got an H, and I am thinking about I or J for studs and a pendant. Not sure though. I want to go look at some I & J's compared to H's to see what I think about them. I bet you can't wait to get it set in a setting. The first time you lay eyes on it after it's set it seems like such a large stone. Way larger than when loose.

My "j" is absolutely gorgeous...if I had to do it all over again, I would get another one. However, I think the "ideal" cut definitely makes the difference. Now I'm not an expert; however, I do not see any yellow face down...however, on the side (unmounted), I saw a little yellow; but I had to search for it. Once the ring is mounted, I don't believe I will see that. I took a chance in ordering a "J" from and internet jeweler, however after receiving it...the risk was well worth it especially since I had 30 days to return it if it wasn't what I expected.
