Hey everyone.

Me again. I was wondering if I can have a setting done as shown in either of these links below. Im talking about the way the prongs are only:

In the first picture the diamond is lifted up and almost floating. In the second it is tucked to the ring. I've noticed that most rings have it tucked close to the ring. Would I be able to take a ring as seen here : http://www.whiteflash.com/pimg/jewelry/gi_WF-4147_f.jpg

And have them make the diamond float? My ff seems to like the ones where the diamond sits up high like this.

let me know.

Thanks again. I will have a diamond update for everyone tomorrow.

its possible...probably... but you best firing the question off to WF, as their jeweller would be able to give you an answer pretty quick.

I''m guessing that the biggest concern would be durability of the prongs - making sure that the prongs wont get damaged too easily and you end up loosing the diamond

Hi Eddie,

Yes you can have it done either way, just let the diamond setter know your preference. The main reason jewelers usually try to set the diamond lower is because of durability. The logic is the shorter the prong is relative to its diameter the harder it is to bend. If you chose to have it set a bit higher just be sure you have your prongs check by your jeweler about every six months.

Hope this helps,
