Hi,

I have this 70''s Cartier ring,stunning really,

I contacted Cartier, and it will cost several hundred dollars to get it re-evaluated and appraised, and summarily re-polished etc, My question is is this worth it>? The local jeweler whom has significant experience with luxury items, said he can give and accurate appraisal for much less. The piece needs some minor work, tightening the shank so the baguettes don''t become any looser; they are slightly loose. Other than that it is pristine, Any suggestions?

I see teh advantage of Cartier to be:
Certified work by the BEST craftsman
a New cartier certificate
The best polishing etc possible
all at an extreme premium. I am curious the age of the peice adds value, but only to the trained eye, would this be worth it> Thanks So much
