Phosphorescent diamond

I have an odd actually rather plain 5 mm round "n"'sh color I1 diamond that I paid no attention to until I was experimenting with a black light and determined its phosphorescence. It lasts over five minutes. Is this rare? Does it effect value? Interesting anyway.

Interesting. So you're saying the stone emits the light over time post UV exposure?

Cool! I love phos & fluor. I believe it is rare, but I'm not sure how it affects value. If you ever happen to get a good video, please post!

My fluorescent diamonds also phosphoresce. It the excited electrons returning to their ground state. It is a really neat property.
