There is absolutely no color in either of these asschers. Both are very, very white. I have both of them in my possession.
The link to the goodoldgold images and data regarding both of these are: http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_59ct_i_vs2_royal_asscher.htm http://www.goodoldgold.com/asscher_1_83ct_i_vs1.htm Linda |

Glad to hear they''re super white in person -- they sure are lovely in the pix!
Actually - I''m DYING to know what you''re thinking ... now that we know you can play w/em and look at them in all sorts of lights. I didn''t fancy the 1.7ish Royal I saw in person before picking a 1.5 "generic" Asscher myself ... but both of your choices look great - probably can''t go wrong so whichever speaks to you!

I think it will boil down to whether you prefer the more patterned look of the RA vs. the larger size of the gen asscher.
The RA really has that octagonal apearance all the way down to the heart. However, the gen asscher is cheaper and bigger. Side by side, does the gen asscher look much larger than the RA? Here the difference in appearance is really noticable. The RA is on the left. Personally, I''d rather go for the RA; it really is quite special.

I have to say that my Square Emerald has the octagonal appearance all the way to the center as well. I think it''s a flaw in the photograph that makes the SE appear not to continue to the core. I''m sure she can see & decide for sure in person though - OOOOH to be able to play with those two beauties all night long!!

It is totally personal preference but I LOVE the generic one. The Royal Asschers can definitly be pretty but they are just too busy for me. I think the generics look simpler and I can really appreciate the patterns more. I love that 1.83 too. Good luck!
ps~is there any way you can take a picture of them side by side so we can compare? |
