Hello, I really seem to like the curved design of these halo settings from Gabriel NY & Co., but they dont have the settings in 18K White gold. Does anyone know where I could get similar settings in 18K gold?

Also I am planning to wear this setting on a daily basis and I use my hands a lot i.e. I grow / sell plant at home, so a lot of work mixing soil, potting, packaging plants etc etc. Would a halo be a safe choice for keeping the diamond intact and secure.

thanks,
Cooks.

Re: Looking for these kind of halo settings in 18K white gol

Whiteflash carries a few bypass designs that are available in 18k white gold:

(Without a halo)http://www.whiteflash.com/engagemen...er-whirlwind-diamond-engagement-ring-2454.htm

(sort of modified halo design) http://www.whiteflash.com/engagemen...der-escape-solitaire-engagement-ring-2407.htm

I'm wondering why you want 18k rather than 14k, particularly if you work with your hands a lot? 18K is generally softer than 18k. I know the PS experts will correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think that if you get a ring that's rhodium plated (as much white gold is) the 18k will need to be will need to be re-dipped more frequently.

Re: Looking for these kind of halo settings in 18K white gol

Hi thanks for the recommendations. I really like the Mark Schneider designs, especially the ones within my budget <$2000 for the setting.

The reason for going for 18K gold was just higher quality. Most of my other jewellery is 22K gold, so going down to 14K just seemed like a downgrade to me.

However, if it is stronger than 18K gold, then I would definitely consider it and also 14K would be cheaper for me, so thats great too :).
There are also more design choices in 14K gold than 18K, I'll have to decide which route to go.

@ Yekutiel : thanks will definitely contact them about the 18K setting.

@ Confection10: No, I havent looked at A Jaffe designs, will take a look. Your selections are really nice and yes they are in my price range.

Now I just have go through all these sites and pick a design. I think its confusing sometimes by just looking at the pictures to select something and I keep wondering how it will look on my finger. Anyway maybe I'll go to Kays or in the mall and try on similar designs in the same size range to get an idea.

thanks everyone,
Cooks.

Re: Looking for these kind of halo settings in 18K white gol

Thanks for the info. I did go to kays and really liked the below setting. I liked that the head was sitting higher than the halo design below, it highlighted the diamond. I did see other halos, where both the halo part and the head were at the same level and it seemed to much bright and hid the diamond.

I did find something similar below, not sure from the picture how high the diamond sits from the swirly design. From the video is seems like the diamond is medium set and you can see the sides of the diamond from in between the swirly shank/pave band.

I also liked the below simple bypass design, especially because it has 6 prongs.

The diamond I'm looking into for the ring would be between 0.8-0.9 ct, so I am wondering whether the halo setting would overpower the smaller size stone. Anyway, I will post my diamond choices for the ring setting, maybe that will help me decide the best fit between diamong and setting :).

Pricescope has been really helpful so far and I am really enjoying the experience of looking for a ring. This is my first ring purchase so a little hesitant.
