It looks awesome, I have little worry at all. At VS1 clarity you are basically paying not to have to worry one little iota about inclusions, so forget about that! The nice think about lower colors too is that clarity doesn't cost you as much. I think this stone will make you happy! I had a K once and it was a beauty. It was not the right stone for me, but it was gorgeous. In my opinion, lower colors like this are a little more subdued, a little less BLAM eye catching, than colorless stones. They look softer. Also, they have a very unique chameleon characteristic, where they really dramatically change their appearance with ambient lighting and environmental colors. Anyways, well worth checking out in person!
What is the price? |

Thanks for replying Dreamer! (I couldn't figure out how to PM y'all). It's about $3600 with the PS discount. I think you're right about the softness factor. I think that may be something I like. |

I think its a nice stone, and agree that you don't need to worry about the inclusions. I personally like the look of a lower colored diamond, I like the warm flashes of light and think that it has a more romantic appearance than an icy white one that sometimes feels cold and without personality, but that's just a matter of opinion. I wouldn't worry to much about not being able to have a gemologist evaulate it for you, it's a nice choice and I think that once you get a chance to assess it yourself you will be able to determine if this is the stone for you.
I'm very excited for you! And it looks like a great fit for your setting. I agree when you said that if you had dropped below 6mm that you would lose some of the asthetic. So, if I were you I'd have the diamond sent and evaluate it in a bunch of different lighting conditions, then take thousands of pics and post then all here so we can all drool over it!

Thank y'all SOOO much for your feedback! I feel a bit more confident now on these things and sure have learned A LOT here. I hope now to be able to participate with people from a less frenzied state of mind, especially if I get to go back to take jewelers classes again at some point.
) and so when I saw this one late last night, I'm thinking if all goes well, this may be "the one". Bf knows a LOT more now too than he did (or maybe ever wanted to!) when we started and can now have intelligent conversation about both diamonds and tango shoes. I'll resurrect this when it comes in and post photos. Now I absolutely have to make beads today, or else! |

I recently bought a diamond through James allen also, a K colored emerald cut. Being a step cut, it shows color more but I love it! I don't like the icy white diamonds on my skin tone, being that I am very pale to begin with! I don't have any other diamonds to compare it to but it still looks very white. JA has a great return policy too... if you don't like it they will send you a package to ship it back!

Do you have pics of your EC? I have an I asscher and was so afraid that I wouldn't be happy, but honestly, I almost never see any warmth to it, except through the pavillion in certain lights. I've wondered if I would be as happy with a K. I'm very fair as well Sorry for the thread jack bastetcat!!! |

No worries- threads go where they go! My bf likes EC but I just find them too linear for diamonds- but think they look better in a colored stone. I also am VERY fair (let's just call it fish-belly white) so I tend to like things with a lit of color to them. |
