So the hard part I am having here is that Tiffany's has 2 cushion rings as far as I know, the Novo and the Legacy. And the description is a bit odd, but it sounds like a Novo maybe?

If you can have it independently appraised beforehand it might be a good deal, otherwise it is a dealbreaker for me.

I have had bad experience on craigslist---so that is one I probably wouldn''t buy, but who knows...It seems like he is letting it go for FAR FAR FAR too less....a jeweler would probably give more...

Also, has to be the Novo---b/c the legacy has more diamonds around and isn''t it bezel set?

Sounds like a novo to me, too...and a great price, but I would 1.) Need the paperwork AND call Tiffany to verify it as original before buying and 2.) See it in person.

Does Tiffany laser engrave anything on the girdle of their stones? If they do the stone could be verified as a real Tiffany. But I''d want my own appraiser or trusted jeweler to verify that. Also, I wonder if the seller has the original receipt.

The way to do a transaction like this is to meet at an appraiser''s office and get the ring verified. That is if you are interested.

But if it were me...I''d get an Ideal cut stone, not Very Good. The dimensions of that stone look more like a 1.2 ct.

I''d just meet them AT Tiffany''s. Tell them if they verify the ring is theirs, you will consider it. See how they react. As others have stated though, if it SOUNDS to good to be true, it usually is.
