28,000 for a 2.14 doesn''t sound like an amazing deal to me. It sounds fine if it''s a great stone, but nothing amazing. You do realize that the first price is a per carat price right?

A few qualifiers.....

Does the stone come with an AGS or GIA grading report? Do the cut proportions of the stone fall within the range required to earn an AGS0 grade for proportions? (You''d need more measurement information in order to determine that for sure - crown angle, pavilion angle, girdle, diameter, etc)

If the answer to both of these is "yes", then the other factor affecting price is the source.

--If you''re buying from an online ''drop-ship'' vendor who doesn''t pre-evaluate the stone for you, it''s an ok price.
--If you''re buying from a reputable online vendor who brings the stone in for visual inspection and evaluation first, then
it''s a fair price in line with what reputable online vendors charge for comparable goods.
--If you''re buying from a local bricks-and-mortar vendor, I''d say it''s a very good price since B&Ms tend to be priced a bit
higher than online vendors.

Using those numbers in the HCA I get a 3 (worth buying if the price is right) with the angles, but a 1.7 with the percentages. If I recall correctly the angles are the better numbers to use though. You really want a stone that scores a 2 or under.
