How much is too much? Cleaning...

Hi all-

Just got my engagement ring last week and my new fiancee is accusing me of having a touch of OCD...I''ve been cleaning it every morning with that Sparkle, Sparkle stuff and a soft toothbrush...and he now has me worried that I am loosening the prongs (it''s a tiffany lucida setting) and that I''m overcleaning the diamond..

Can a diamond wear down or lose luster if it is cleaned too much? Should I not use a toothbrush to gently clean all the places dirt can hide underneath?

I clean my rings every day now with sparkle sparkle and use a soft toothbrush. Just gently scrub your ring and it should be fine.

Lily, I''ve had that same OCD for the entire year and half I''ve owned my ring! There is just no point in spending the money to get a superior cut stone if you aren''t gonna keep it clean.

I clean with S/S and a *GENTLE* toothbrushing every morning.
